Karma was his callsign. He never believed in its meaning. Bryce Rath believed in his team. In the mission. In getting everyone home.
Deep in Afghan territory, a compromised op left him with one option: call in a drone strike. It misfired. It didn’t just eliminate the enemy. It erased his entire team.
Once a MARSOC Raider, Bryce now drifts off the grid, guiding fishing tours and avoiding the past he refuses to face. His training never taught him to ask why. Only how to survive.
But when he crosses paths with a family trapped in a town rotting from the inside, circumstances force Bryce to act. The system has failed them.
After exhausting every peaceful option, he’s left with one choice: Walk away, or burn it all down doing the right thing.
Finally, a mission that makes sense.
Karma is coming. And when he does, you get what you deserve.
KARMA: Peace Was Never an Option Book One in The Karma Files™ A gritty, cinematic thriller for fans of Jack Carr, Jason Bourne, and Sicario.
I’ve spent years behind the scenes as a ghostwriter, helping others bring their ideas to life. Now I’m telling the stories I’ve always wanted to write.
The Karma Files™ is my debut thriller series. It's a raw, cinematic look at what it means to do the right thing in a world that rarely rewards it. These stories are for readers who still believe justice matters, even when the system breaks.
My background is in filmmaking and fight choreography. I’ve worked alongside special operations veterans and storytellers who’ve lived the kind of truth most people never get close to. The Karma Files began in those quiet, unfiltered conversations that happen after the cameras stop rolling.
I write under a pen name because this story isn’t about me. It’s about what it stands for. And if you're reading this, you're already part of it.
Bryce Rath arrives in a small town. Before he knows it he his mixed up in a dangerous cartel conspiracy and has to safe two people to honour a dying man’s wish…
Dennis Rae writes clear and engaging. The action moves fast and takes some unexpected turn. Think Rambo meets Jason Bourne and Sicario. Can’t wait for the next one.
Disclaimer: I got an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The start of an absolutely must-read series. The world has a new hero and he is Karma. Bryce may be his name but often his actions result in karma for those who are doing bad.
A book that starts fast and never lets up. This book is built for action lovers and will thrill readers almost nonstop! There is an extremely effective dichotomy approach to the POV. You get near equal focus on the story from Bryce’s view and from the bad guy’s point of view. This gives the reader unique access into the mindset of the antagonist.
The character development is spot on. You get a real feel for the multi levels that make up Karma. He is a human weapon but one without dark undertones. He never aims to kill but if he must, then so be it. The closest comp to his character and lethality is Cobra from the classic Stallone movie.
The characters of the bad guys are well defined. This isn’t a cookie cutter approach either. There are dimensions in each of the bad that make each slightly different.
The romance in the book is subtle and flows nicely with the overarching story. In a lot of ways, only a woman like Taylor-May is the only woman for Bryce.
A spectacular first book for what will be a superb series. If you like action, military fiction and military action, then this is the book for you! Get your hands on this now and be there for the whole ride this series will be! I can’t wait to read book 2 and every other one that follows after that!
