This is a wonderful children’s literature book or chapter book as the children called about tennis and the real meaning of tennis.
It is a story of Luka,a young boy who is encouraged by his grandfather to play tennis. At an early age, his grandfather gives him a ball that his grandfather calls the ball of courage. his grandfather said that when you squeeze the spoil you gain the courage that I had when I was a young man.
The author of this book has structured it so that it’s divided into lessons about the real meaning of tennis and what can be gained from every tennis match. At a conclusion of every chapter, the author gives sort of a proverb of what the meaning of that chapter was about
This book shows the ups and downs of a young man developing into an adult And have tennis helps him do that.
This is a great book not only about tennis, but it teaches valuable lessons on life. Usually books about sports end up in “the winner takes it all”, which is not true. This books shows how to lose and grow above the level of collecting trophies at the same time. Who cares how many trophies you have? People care about people with values beyond trophies. The only thing which is a bit disappointing is that there are inconsistencies in the text, besides typos. For example, in one early chapter Luka plays against Nejc and in a later one he doesn’t know Nejc. The author also switches between “his grandfather” and “my grandfather”, which dragged me out of the story. The story as such though is excellent!
Big Tennis Dreams: Luka and the Champions" is a truly great book. I really enjoyed reading it, it’s inspiring, engaging, and filled with valuable lessons. The storytelling is heartfelt and motivating, making it an excellent read for anyone who loves tennis, friendship, and chasing big dreams. I highly recommend it!
Inspecting and relatable! Luka’s journey through victories, setbacks, and friendships makes this more thanks sports book. It is a real life lesson wrapped in from storytelling. A perfect read for young athletes or any child chasing big dreams.
