Gabe’s only rule in life? Avoid married men at all costs. But when a sexy, married lawyer-cum-farmer, with dreamy eyes and in open relationship, makes himself indispensable, Gabe’s no-married-men pledge is hard to keep.
Gabe Hartman is an award-winning, workaholic soap opera writer who prefers friends with benefits that don’t interfere with his deadlines. After his mother dies unexpectedly, he returns to his small hometown to settle her affairs, then get back to work ASAP. He schedules the memorial, arranges the burial, but makes no plans to fall for anyone, especially not a married man.
Owen Greene is open-hearted, good looking, and blessed with a charmed life. He’s passionate about all things farm-to-table and isn’t afraid to pursue what he wants—experience optional. When Gabe stumbles into his chaotic farmers market booth, the sparks are instant.
Gabe wants to do right by his mother and get back to work. Owen wants Gabe. Their chemistry? Unavoidable. Between messy estate finances and a fake-date crash course in emotional vulnerability, they just might stumble into something real. If only Gabe could come clean about a secret of his own…
Fall in love with this warm, witty MM rom-com about unexpected connections, complicated timing, and kissing the guy who makes your heart trip.
You had me at Chairvana. Lovely confection of a read—includes enticing passages about cooking, yum—which left me in a romantic vibe. Truly fun with some twists and turns… read on my iPhone. So… perhaps it is a screen-swiper as opposed to a page turner… could not wait for each succeeding chapter. Those with a penchant for soap operas will get an extra treat. This could be the next Luke and Lawrence. Funny, touching, satisfying. Maybe Joe Keenan can find his way to making some space on his shelf for Mr, Diggs’ gem.
My first dive into a boy meets boy rom-com and this did not disappoint! Funny, sassy, sexy and fast-paced, I enjoyed the ride. What an absolute treat. I look forward to more by this debut author.
I've not read a redemption story in a while and Tom Diggs in Rom-Com for Dummies has set a new high standard going forward. Gabe, the character in need of redemption, is not a total jerk, but close. His love for his mother, even before she passes away, lets the reader know there is some good in him. Unfortunately, when he returns to his small town to take care of everything associated with her passing (been there, done that) he does not leave his bad habits in Manhattan. It was fun to see how the goodness of the citizens of his small town slowly eroded his big-city shell, until something smashes it with a bang. That results in much heart-felt introspection by Gabe. The other half of the boy-meets-boy trope is Owen, a major cinnamon roll who does have a big flaw of his own. We don’t see Owen’s emotional growth but it is indicated by external events. Gabe’s development is believable, since he does it for himself (and maybe his mother). I wanted their story to continue after the last page, as I was so invested in their HEA. I received an advance review copy of the book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I was fortunate enough to receive an advanced copy of this little gem. Rom-Com for Dummies is a sparkling, heartfelt LGBTQ contemporary romance that delivers equal parts charm and emotional depth. Tom Diggs, once again, fills the story with witty banter, authentic representation, and just the right amount of swoon. It's a smart, funny, feel-good read that’s impossible not to root for. Super fun!
You had me at “If Tomorrow Never Comes!” Such a delight of a story! I’m so lucky to have read the advance copy and could not put it down. Romance, scandal, depth and camp; I couldn’t ask for more. Peppered in with some delicious kitchen scenes (in more ways than one!), Rom Com for Dummies is smart, funny and full of heart.
