"When it comes to the search for true love, you may have to climb a mountain, ford a stream, and perhaps fall in a bog or two. To find your dream, you might have to try on new boots, so to speak." – Miss Lovelock
Miss Lovelock and her shadowy agents have their work cut out when it comes to Rosie. The journalist’s love life and writing career are in tatters, and now she’s been despatched north to the English Lake District to report on a wellness retreat, hosted by a bootylicious mega-influencer everyone loves to hate. Tension mounts when both women fall for the local Romeo’s cheeky charm. Will Rosie make the same old mistakes when it comes to romance, or is this a chance to reboot her life? From the vantage point of a rocky fell top, Rosie ponders on where she’s been going wrong, and what to do about that. Now all she has to do is make it back down the mountain. But the storm clouds are gathering …

Rescuing Rosie is the fourth in the magical matchmaking series of romantic comedy novellas ‘Miss Lovelock’s Agency for Broken Hearts’.
What would Henry VIII, Elizabeth 1st, Richard III or King Arthur be like if they lived today? Questions like these inspire Olivia Hayfield's modern-day retellings of historical tales.
Olivia is in fact like her characters – a reimagined version of the truth. Olivia Hayfield is the pseudonym of author and editor Sue Copsey. Olivia is more glamorous and fair bit younger than children's writer Sue, and her behaviour is far worse.
Sue has two children and a husband; Olivia probably has lovers and a pedigree cat. Olivia spends most of her time in London, while Sue is usually in Auckland, New Zealand.
The duo male leads in 'Rescuing Rosie' are no doubt the hunky hikers every girl on Bumble dreams of meeting in a damp cave, in rapidly failing light, on a mountain top with a sprained ankle and only a crushed muesli bar in her daypack. HOT, with a capital hache, both of them and with emotional baggage and the correct outdoor equipment, these guys couldn’t be more perfect. Ms Hayfield clearly loves the Lakes District and it shines like a god in all its beastly cold wet gloriously light-kissed dramatic views and endless hikes. I was having mini-O’s even with my best outdoor socks sodden and my new tramping boots giving me blisters. Please lie back in a bubble bath, rest your exhausted body, escape into the contemporary wilds and find love with 'Rescuing Rosie'.
Poor Rosie’s life has taken a turn for the worst… or has it? A chance encounter with a pair boots and a gardener at a bridge overlooking a canal are just the beginning of her luck changing. She heads north for a wellness program and meets an entertaining group of people and a charming dog. Drama, some angst, bad decisions are all there, but so are hope and the chance to choose a more rewarding life. Enjoyed this series and am looking forward to more!
Ms Hayfield has done it again - another beautifully-crafted uplifting escape from every day life. I loved disappearing to the Lake District with the hapless Rosie, off to escape her woes and do a write up of a wellness retreat. With a couple of potential suitors, the dramatic backdrop of the lakes and fells, and the occasional nod to the romantic poets this was a fun read. And with the setting described in lush detail and almost another character in itself, I am now very tempted to visit 'up North' if i am ever in the UK again. I think my only criticism is that I still don't entirely know what a sand bath is (and would really like to know).
Set in the isolated hills of the English Lake Districts where the weather is harrowing and the men are rugged.
🌲 romcom ⛰️ grumpy sunshine 🌲 opposites attract ⛰️ several potential love interests 🌲 magical element ⛰️ female bonding 🌲 remote isolated rural setting
I enjoyed the unpredictability of Rosie having several potential love interests and the female bonding that occurred as Rosie broke through her preconceived misconceptions.
I was sent this book by the author and all opinions are my own.

Rosie is down in the dumps. I liked that she got to get away while working. The area she went to had a lot of adventures in it. It was nice when Rosie and Ben finally figured it out and got together. This was a great story.

I enjoyed this fourth book in the series of Miss Lovelock's Agency for Broken Hearts. The author wrote an entertaining romance set in a mountainous area hotel. The FMC, Rosie, is grieving from a recent breakup with her boyfriend (and other frustrating happenings in her life). As a journalist for a magazine, she is sent on assignment to write a piece on a well-known celebrity who's using the hotel and area for her next promotion. There are several male characters who cross her path, as well as Miss Lovelock's agents steering Rosie's path towards love. Although I did really like the book, I rated this book with 4 stars because it was at least halfway through the book before it became clear to me who Rosie's new love interest was supposed to be. I was confused and felt the intended romantic target was too slow in taking on a major role in the plot. The book is definitely worth a read, in my opinion, however.

I ended up enjoying this book more than I expected. It’s a sweet rom-com with a grumpy-sunshine dynamic. Rosie, a city girl at a low point in her life, escapes to the Lake District to heal. Being completely out of her element in nature, she often finds herself needing rescue from the local “mountain grumpy sunshine.” There are even a couple of potential love interests, leaving readers guessing who the real one might be.
Beyond the romance, the story also explores friendship, female bonding, and personal growth. Rosie not only learns to face the challenges of the outdoors but also confronts her own assumptions and emotional struggles. In the end, it’s not just about being rescued physically, but about Rosie finding her own kind of emotional rescue too. Overall, a sweet and feel-good read.
What an absolutely gorgeous read this was, I really enjoyed it.
🩷 Grumpy vs Sunshine 🩷 Lake District 🩷 Self Growth 🩷 Celebrity Star
This book started off with us meeting Rosie, recently dumped by her ex and at a huge crossroads in her life. She finds herself being sent to the Lake District on a work assignment and boy is her life about to change.
I loved the setting of this book so much, I’ve never been to the Lake District before but now I definitely need to visit if I ever get back to the UK. Loved seeing that this is where the author met her husband, and is her favourite place.
Loved the storyline, and I’m so glad that Rosie ended up with who she ended up with as it could have went in any direction so I won’t spoil it.
Great characters and loved seeing the friendships built between them all along with all of the self reflection and growth.
This is my second book by Olivia Hayfield and I found it to be a sweet and delightful read. City girl Rosie has been sent to work in the wilds of the Lake District and is more than happy for the chance to get away from her life, and its troubles, for a moment. The writing style is great and the story flows nicely. While this is a romance it varies by introducing two potential love interests for our sweet Rosie. And it also focuses quite a bit of attention on her relationship with the influencer she is there to work with. There is much more than romance going on and it makes for an engaging read. Recommended.

Rescuing Rosie is a charming, funny, and heartwarming escape to the Lake District — complete with two swoon-worthy, emotionally complex hikers who are basically every outdoorsy Bumble fantasy rolled into one. Rosie, off to review a wellness retreat and escape her chaotic life, finds herself torn between love interests, healing hillsides, and plenty of soggy socks. The setting is stunning — practically a character itself — and Ms. Hayfield’s love for the Lakes shines through every windswept scene. Sweet, witty, and steeped in nature and heart, this is the perfect cozy romance for anyone needing a breath of fresh (if slightly damp) air. My only complaint? I still don’t know what a sand bath is. Someone please explain.

this was a strong fourth entry in the Miss Lovelock's Agency for Broken Hearts series, it had that romantic comedy element that I was looking for and enjoyed from this type of book and from Olivia Hayfield. The characters had that feel that worked with the world and was engaged with what happened to them. I was invested in the romance and how it was developed.

Another wonderfully written novella in the Miss Lovelock's Agency for Broken Hearts series and a great addition to it. It's a sweet and heartwarming story that entertained me wonderfully. The setting was interesting and made the story even more vivid. The characters are endearingly written and I liked them very much. I really enjoyed reading the story!

Rosie is an absolutely delightful main character, supported by an equally fun supporting cast. The romance is very cute, and includes one of my favourite tropes (grumpy-sunshine). I loved seeing Rosie get her confidence back and succeed, plus I very much enjoyed her fashion sense - would love a pair of boots like those!
Ben and Rose are a perfect couple once they get there. I love the incredible supporting cast and the hint of magic is subtle but definitely felt. The countryside and community invite you in for a vacation to the Lake District.

What a great easy read. Educational as well as a nice romance story. The characters came alive for me. Lots of mirrors to life. Hope you enjoy this read as well. Thanks Olivia Hayfield for Rescuing Rosie.
The fourth story in the Miss Lovelock's Agency for Broken Hearts. I enjoyed Rosie's story and seeing how she handles the things she goes through. I enjoyed reading the story. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I DNF'd this at 55%. It was really slow. I wanted to read this because of the setting, Lake District in England, which I'd been to. I loved the setting but the story just wasn't moving and there were too many possible love interests that i just had to put it down.
Rosie is an author who is unfortunately, has been disappointed twice in one week. Reuben (her boyfriend) dumped her, and the publisher said her book wasn't good enough. (Im an author, so I totally understand Rosie's disappointment. Putting so much effort into something you love only to be rejected.) There was meaning behind her book. She was writing it about her grandmother - her father's mother. Rosie's mother was wrong - writing books is not just a hobby but a passion.
Rosie was wandering and found herself at London Zoo, where her and ReuBEN placed their love locks. The zookeeper cut it off and returned it to her, saying, " Keep in case you meet a Ben." Rosie's editor thought she needed to get away, so she requested Rosie take an assignment. Amara thought Rosie could heal and find what she was looking for. This book is full of love and adventure. You never know what opportunities are out there if you dont take a chance.
