The ancient prophecy Has come to pass. But will it bring Deliverance or doom?
WAR has come to the Inherited Lands. Though the Remnant now wield the life-giving power of Dei’lo, their numbers are still too few to stand against the staggering might of the Sa’lei Lords and their armies. Besieged and weakened to near collapse, the Remnant rebels are forced to flee to the four corners of the world. Isolated from one another and unable to find help for their cause, their defeat is all but certain.
Yet, within the shadows of the Deathland Barrens one thread of hope remains. Gideon Dawning, the prophesied Waymaker from another realm, has recovered the Pearl, a sentient orb that holds within it the full knowledge and power of Dei’lo. If he can bring the orb to the fight, it may be enough to turn the tide. But time is short, and many dreadful enemies stand in his way.
Even more troubling, the Pearl itself is not what he expected. It summons him to follow a foolish and dangerous path—one that seems intent on ushering in the doom of the world.
Very well written. Very thought provoking concepts! Excellent characters. Loved the journey. I laughed, cried, and much more both with them and for them.
Already addicted and enthralled by the first two books, I couldn't jump into the third book (The Song That Shatters) quickly enough. Each have had their own flavor entirely thus far, and book 3 is no different. It continues to enlarge and grow the story and you can feel where it's leading, but still leaving you on the edge of your seat with so many unanswered questions remaining. The continued character development has me falling even more in love with the characters and this world that Michael Warden has so artfully and skillfully created. I'm in love with this series!!! GET ME BOOK 4!!! Highly recommend! Love how this story is unfolding and where it's going!
After the slow burning trek across the Barrens, Gideon has finally embraced his calling, but not necessarily in the way his fellow servants of the Pearl might wish for or expect. Book 3 in the series continues building on the beautiful, expansive world of the Inherited Lands and building tension as the remnant gather allies old and new. It's been a long time coming, and I'm so excited to be part of this journey!
This third book has me on the edge of my seat turning pages to find out what happens next. The Pearl is very intriguing to me and I appreciate the slow reveal. I am also very much drawn to how the Pearl operates/functions/works. There is a conflict raging and goodness still is at work. I am glad book four is available to start reading!
It’s a well written, suspenseful and insightful page turner. I thought the various reactions to the Pearl were insightful and very well done. I can’t wait to read the end of the series.
