Edsel Ford has seen nearly everything over his thirty years as a long haul trucker, delivering seafood to restaurants and grocery stores. But now an unforeseen apocalyptic event is about to cause chaos like he’s never seen before.
When a massive solar flare and coronal mass ejection, unlike any ever recorded, leaves most without modern technology or transportation, Edsel is fortunate to find himself with both as his painstakingly restored, antique big rig survives the world-wide EMP.
Initially intent on looking out for number one, Edsel finds himself pulled into several episodes of looking out for others.
Now a reluctant hero, Edsel finds himself being called upon to, once again, travel the highways and bi-ways of America. Only now, instead of delivering fresh seafood, he’s delivering hope.
This was a short & sweet, fun story to listen to. Take a long-haul trucker with heart of gold and throw in an EMP induced global catastrophe that shakes civilization to its core, and you get Edsel Ford, the hero of the people. I feel like the story was really just getting started when the book ended so it will be interesting to see what types of adventures & mishaps Edsel and his new-found friends find themselves in.
Having only recently discovered this author I was thrilled to find this book. I grabbed the audio narration and the narrator was brilliant and is very easy to listen to. 10/10 enjoyed and recommend.
