We live in an unpeaceful time People of all ages, and especially children, are surrounded by violence on all levels. All of us must cope with the brutality of the age. If we are to be truly human, however, we must do more than cope. We must do all we can to change our homes, our neighborhoods, our communities, our nation and our world. Children need to explore and experience a variety of peacemaking themes and concepts in a positive and creative manner. The arts are a useful mans toward achieving this goal. Artistic media can help children to imagine a world at peace. The arts can help children go beyond imagining the world at peace as well. Thus by unleashing the creative imagination, children can find hope for the future.
