History is written by the Lordins, the sapients are told.
Ryder doesn’t know when the Lordins gave humans that name. Ever since he was born, the Lordins have reigned over the sapients like tyrants, wielding their sorcerous powers over nature with impunity. Kingdoms fell, one after the next. Then the sapients staged their last stand, stemming the Lordins’ advance.
The Lordins retreated, and Ryder returned home with a hero’s welcome. As a knight of the Royal Guard, the king and queen entrusted him to protect the royal family and the princess. But when a plot for the throne shatters all trust in the Royal Guard, he must flee the Kingdom of Anker as a fugitive, and hide amongst the very people he swore to protect.
While he assembles allies on his journey, the Lordins are preparing to unleash their greatest threat against the sapients, one that will eradicate their armies and subjugate the last two kingdoms to ruin. While the flames of war carry on, Ryder and his new allies must infiltrate the Lordins’ stronghold, or else everything he has ever known will be gone forever.
This book was a very interesting read. I don't think it was quite for me but I know that there are people out there that will love it. Thank you for the free copy.
