Kim Swanson inherits her grandmother's vintage camper. She reluctantly agrees to try camping in it with her husband and young son in the Oklahoma panhandle. But they wake up the first morning to dust storms, the disappearance of the campground facilities, no phone service, and alarming radio broadcasts that tell them it is 1937. How can they get back to their older sons and their own time?
This series is always a good read! One of my 3 favorite series by this author, and I have to hand it to her for the creativity she comes up with in having different and diverse subject matter to write about. "Dust" had me on the edge of my seat wondering how the characters were going to deal (successfully) with the main issue they were having! Thanks for yet another great read--this author is in my top 5 list.
I've been waiting for this new edition of the series, and I was not disappointed! This one was a bit scary as they traveled to the dust bowl and could have died. I won't tell how they discovered how to get back home, but I suggest they keep a user's manual inside the trailer to help any new owners. Great series and wonderful story.
Once again a great quick read. Ms Nortman's attention to detail and pulling in references from previous books keeps the integrity of the stories. I have read and thoroughly enjoyed every one of Ms Nortman's books. I bought the first one because I am a camper, but kept reading because they are fun books.
I loved this story. Time travel could be fun, but I would want to return to present times. Dust bowl era would be difficult to live but time traveling for this family who knew the future made it more interesting.
I enjoyed this book as it adds history to the camping theme. I own a 1967 Scotty Camper and often think about the previous owners and their adventures. Adventures await!
I enjoyed this trip back in time to the dirty 30’s, especially because I had family in the Midwest during that time. I had no idea there was that much dust. Sparked my curiosity to research that time period a little more. It’s a quick entertaining adventure.
