The only reason Mee Noi agrees to help Sud with his video exam for theater arts is because Sud insists Mee Noi is the only guy he can convincingly do a love scene with. Neither of them expect the project to turn into an offer to play a couple in a boys' love series, but that's exactly what happens.
Since it's Sud's big chance to make his dream of being an actor a reality, Mee Noi is determined to make it work. But although acting is surprisingly fun, it's also stressful and exhausting, especially when you don't know what you're doing, and soon it begins to take both a physical and a psychological toll on Mee Noi as painful memories from the past begin to surface.
When Sud's video project wins him and Mee Noi an audition for a bl series, it's a dream come true. But he's pretty sure it's more of a nightmare for his introverted friend, who only got into this to help Sud out. Yet Mee Noi accepts the part when it's offered, and the gesture adds to the budding feelings Sud's starting to have for his best friend.
When Mee Noi has a frightening panic attack at work, Sud tells himself that he must bury those feelings. Mee Noi hasn't had an easy life; the last thing Sud wants to do is put more pressure on him. The worst irony would be for them to play friends to lovers in the series only to have their real friendship end as a result.
This book was quite different than what I normally read but I absolutely loved it. I had a bit if a hard time in the beginning with all the different cultural aspects and the names (oh the names), but once I got passed that, I couldn't put the book down. I loved the story, I loved the characters and their interactions. This was a one of a kind book!
I am newbie at the BL community. I've seen it on Facebook but never got into what I would call K Drama. That said, this book gave me a new appreciation to it..it was well written and a joy to read. I love the conflict of introvert to social butterfly and how they balance each other out. Id recommend Rebecca's entire BL series.
I received an ARC and leave this review voluntarily.
This is the first YA from this author that I've read, and I had not read any of the previous books in the series.
I don't think this is my cup of tea, so I will probably be in the minority. It was an Ok read for me. The author did provide an extensive dictionary at the start and it was definitely needed. I love reading BL manga, and I thought this would be in the same wheelhouse, but it wasn't really.
Sud and Noi have known and lived with each other from childhood. They're best friends, but definitely not brothers. Noi has over the top horrible parents and Sud's parents basically adopts Noi.
The whole friends to lovers comes about with a school project that rolls into two spots on a BL drama show.
The timing is all over the place with some sections having details of everything goingbon and then we jump anywhere from a couple of days, to weeks, to even months into the future.
There are random childhood traumatic memories that pop up out of no where. Jealousy runs rampant through both characters. Sud never really questions his apparent bisexuality (or maybe he is just GFY with Noi). Noi seems to be possibly on the demi sexual train, but that is never addressed.
Like I said, I'm probably going to be in the minority, but while the read was cute, it wouldn't be one that I would reach for to re-read.
I loved reading this book,,,there is a lot going on in this book ,,this is about a boy named Noi and since he was 6 yr old he has been living with another family who loved him ,,,,but then there is Sud the son in that family who wants to be a actor so he wants to be in a only boys movie so he asked Noi to be in that movie with him ,,,Noi agrees even if he is not a actor ,,,,and then while doing that movie things change between them and they have to figure out what to do going forward and with family and friends and even the Noi past,, this is simply a beautiful told story,,,I read this book for this author for my honest opinion
Noi and Sud made a wonderful couple. I loved their family and how accepting and supportive they were. I also loved that this story had my favorite trope-hurt/comfort.
Sud and Noi were really sweet and cute. While they grew up in the same household due to Noi's family not being the best they're more best friends than brothers. Sud needs Noi's help for drama class and they do so well that they get scooped up to be in a BL series. Sud is so excited but Noi slowly begins to become overwhelmed because he doesn't want to be in the spotlight. I really enjoyed seeing them develop their relationship and their family was so loving and supportive of them.
The connection between Noi and Sud is undeniable, and there’s plenty of deep feelings between them. They balance each other nicely, and fans of BL will probably feel especially at home in their story. All in all, an immersive read. *I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This was a first read of the series for me. The characters are best friends. With Suds parents having become almost adoptive parents to Noi. The boys become more over time. The storyline was a bit erratic for me and didn’t flow well. And I found myself going back a few pages to see if I had missed something. Overall, it was an okay read.
Noi & Sud is a YA style/BL Romance that is enduring and sweet. These two guys have a great connection with supporting family. Even though they did have a few things to sort out in their journey together.
A cute and sweet read. Noi and Sud are good together and it was nice to get to see how their relationship blossoms. A simple act of kindness and help will change their lives. Soon the emotions that they are acting become all too real. I enjoyed seeing the two connect and find their way.
