Knot so Spooky

Rate this book
Most people went home for the holidays, but that usually didn’t mean Halloween.

However, in my case, spooky season was the best. I hadn’t been home in over a decade, so my visit was long overdue. I planned on enjoying it to the fullest.

The sweater weather, the apple orchards, the carnivals, all of it.

What I hadn’t planned on was running into them the day I arrived. I’d left because of them and the fear of seeing them again was what kept me from my hometown for so long. Knowing it wouldn’t make my parents sad if I left now, I decided to stay. And then, I met her while I was bowling, and it was like everything was suddenly clear.

She was who I wanted in my pack.

As luck would have it though, it wasn’t meant to be. Once again, I found myself fleeing my hometown, but this time I didn’t have my friends to help me pick up the pieces. Now, my favorite holiday was definitely feeling more sad and very much . . .

Hailing from eastern Pennsylvania, R.A. Alyse is a lover of books that feature spicy romance. Although she has a soft spot for why-choose and omegaverse, she has dabbled in a few other sub-genres within her writing. She strives to fill those books with love, spice, magic, and maybe even a knot or two.

R.A. Alyse enjoys searching out yard sales, going bowling or playing games with her kids, and reading in her free time. Her favorite color is purple (any shade!) and her favorite flower is a sunflower. If she isn't hunched over her keyboard, feverishly trying to get more books written, you will most likely find her hanging out with her family and their growing of number of pets.

Here’s the thing—R.A. Alyse and I usually get along like caffeine and deadlines: perfectly. But Knot So Spooky left me... well, a little tangled. The story has all the right ingredients for a fun, quick Omegaverse romp—quirky humor, familiar tropes, and that signature Alyse charm—but this time, something didn’t quite knot together for me.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a smooth read, the pacing is lively, and the laughs are there. But for reasons I can’t fully pin down, it didn’t hit that usual spark. Maybe it’s just me (reader’s mood swings are a thing, right?), or maybe it was the whirlwind of characters—you might want to jot down their names before diving in, trust me.

Still, even when Alyse doesn’t hit me right in the feels, she delivers a solid, entertaining read that keeps her unmistakable voice shining through. So yes, it’s a four-star ride—just not my favorite one. Sometimes, even great authors and loyal readers have slightly off days… and that’s okay.

Perfectly Painted Pack

Be prepared for the P-Pack. We've got our girl Paige (AKA Picasso or P-Girl) and her best friends Peter and Price. These three grew up together but the boys were two years older. When they left for Alpha school Paige was left behind.

While the boys were away they met Paisley and knew she was to be part of their pack. However, they told Paige via a letter that she read that they were not hers.

This is a novella steeped in miscommunication. Instead of talking they go 10 years without contact but they never forget. I get annoyed with this trope but since it was a novella with a happy ending and fall vibes I stuck it out.

This is MFFM with three Alphas and an Omega who are scent matches. I really enjoyed the holiday dates and the significance of Halloween. It was cute but not really my cup of tea.

SPOOKED OMEGA

What happens when there's miscommunication, feelings of hurt and rejection and the discovery of scent matches - a very spooked omega. R.A. Alyse has added several amazing characters to her Choose Me Omegaverse, a strong, independent Omega and three determined Alphas who want to show her love and acceptance after a disastrous miscommunication which tore them apart. Plot, wonderful characters and writing that is wonderfully expressive and engaging makes this a spookilicious read for fans of omegaverse stories.

another good holiday read

This has miscommunication in spades. I won’t lie our fmc definitely irritated me with some of her decisions but when I remember the age she was at the time I can understand why she reacted the way she did. I think is a good example of needing to grow apart and grow ip a bit before coming back to together. I always enjoy these little holiday omegaverse stories ra puts out this one definitely does not disappoint

fun novella

I really enjoyed this Halloween read. It was fun and quick paced. I didn’t like the misunderstanding trope part but that is just a personal preference it does not at all take away from the story. This is part of an interconnected world but you don’t have to read the other books to enjoy this one but I highly recommend because if you don’t know who Riley is you are missing out.

I’m not sure how I feel about this book. How could those two males and their newly acquired pack mate actually think what they did was okay? It’s frustrating to see characters who don't seem to think! Paige is much stronger than she appears at first, and her story really tugged at my heartstrings.

Overall, it’s a fantastic omegaverse read with enough angst to resonate with my cold, dead heart—just in time for Halloween!

This was a very sweet, quick read. I really enjoyed the spooky season vibes. The only thing that bugged me was the names. lol. and that only because my brain has a hard time rememeber which characters are which regularly, this made it so much worse but thats just my adhd. I still highly recommend the book!

Good shorter read for Halloween

What a good story for Halloween! Follow Paige as she finds a scent match with Paisley, who unbeknownst to either of them, is part of a pack that unknowingly broke Paige's heart. What a crazy ride with lots of ups and downs and a bit of spice 😁🔥

A bit of miscommunication, a bit of scent matching and whole lot of sweet. I enjoyed this novella so much! The P-pack was absolutely adorable. I loved the progression of the storyline. They had time to grow into themselves and were stronger for it. Super cute ending!
