Katherine Barrett Greene is a principal at Barrett and Greene, Inc., and a correspondent and columnist for Governing magazine. A graduate of Northwestern University, Katherine has received numerous awards, including the New York State Society of CPA’s Award for Excellence in Financial Journalism. She has also worked as a contributing editor at Financial World and The Ladies Home Journal, as well as run a monthly columnist for Glamour. Her articles and columns have appeared in Newsweek, Readers’ Digest, Harper’s, Better Homes and Gardens, Self, Redbook, and Working Woman. Along with her husband Richard Greene, she is the founding author of the B&G Report, and a consultant to the Pew Center on the States.
Married since 1982, Barrett and Greene are nationally known for their expertise in government policy and management. The husband and wife writing team are also known nationally for their journalistic writing and for their series of projects about Walt Disney. They are experts in the life of Walt Disney, having authored two biographies, a CD of Disney, and the ABC Television documentary entitled Walt: The Man Behind the Myth which has been translated into a number of languages. The couple presently manage the virtual Walt Disney Family Museum and run a blog about the stimulus act for the IBM Center for the Business of Government.
Her additional works include Powering Up, Investigating Artifacts and a book on classic one-liners.
