Coconut Cove is a five-star, monster and human, all-inclusive hotel and resort located on the southern Florida coast. Every day is filled with sun, fun and umbrella drinks. But for Bea this is no vacation, she’s working. As a code enforcement agent, she is sent to many various types of businesses. This week she’s been tasked with inspecting the famous Coconut Cove Resort. Sure, there’s sun and maybe an umbrella drink or two, but there is no fun to be had while on the clock. That is until the manager assigns her an escort for the week, a large shirtless gargoyle who smiles excessively. How is she supposed to get any work done with a cheery talkative male distracting her with his inability to wear a shirt and all those tantalizing muscles? Being assigned babysitter for the sexy code inspector is the best assignment Zaxon has been given since becoming a security guard at the resort. The mouthy little human and her fuck me librarian glasses entice him to no end. He can’t help but tease the tempting female, it’s too much fun getting her wound up, and even more fun when he gets to shatter her resolve and make her scream in pleasure. But will their week of fun and lust end when her assignment is over? Is there more for them after she leaves the resort? Can he convince her to stay and ignore the presence of the sand she hates so much? He can sure as hell try.
Rebecca Rennick, known to her friends as Becca was born in California but has since converted into a Floridian. Along with her husband, and dog. With love for both horror films and the Hallmark Channel, she can be a little dark and creepy while wearing all pastel pink. Growing up in the theater led to her studying fashion in San Francisco where she received a BFA in fashion design. She has many obsessions such as tattoos on herself and others. As well as an unhealthy desire to see the entire world. Her only other true passion is eating. She loves to try everything at least once. You only have one life and you might as well try it all. Except meth, don't try meth.
This was such a cute & fun read! My first gargoyle romance & I have to say I actually loved it so much! I mean the tail play? 🥵 It’s a novella but it’s not all smut it’s actually got a really great story line! Some of the tropes are grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity & Double P 😏 need I say less lol
I loved this one! The small detail giving gargoyles magic is super cool!! There were a few typos, but nothing terrible. Only thing I wasn’t REALLY a fan of were the nicknames… they were kinda off for me. But over all it was such a fun read!

GOTRWALT follows Bea, a human code enforcement agent, along her new assignment to Coconut Cove, a monster and human inclusive hotel and resort. After arriving at the resort and inspecting for a short period, the manager assigns her a gargoyle to escort her throughout the resort. Enter in Zaxon, who can't keep his eyes of Bea and will do anything to get her to stop working and have a bit of fun.
This had the same level of quippy humor as Rebecca's other books but I couldn't get myself to love Bea. She's extremely high-strung and I found her annoying. I absolutely adored Zaxon though as he was funny and charming!
I liked the idea of a monster resort and was fun to meet all the different characters and creatures. I think this world could be explored more if the author wanted to continue off of it! I will say this story did have a lot of spicy scenes which made the character development lack in my opinion.
If you are looking for a spicy quick read and enjoy monster romances then I think this would be for you!
Gargoyle on the Rocks with a Lemon Twist was such a cute and incredibly sexy read! Rebecca Rennick has been one of my fave go to authors when I want a cozy romance with some spice added in. The only reason I gave this one 3 stars is because of the editing. In some parts of the book it was really distracting and during the text thread portion of the book some of the texts were cut off entirely. Outside of that... the book was absolutely perfect!
In this story, we follow Bea. She is a code enforcement agent that goes and inspects businesses to ensure their safety codes are up to date. On this particular trip she finds herself at a five star, all-inclusive hotel and resort that caters to both human and monsters. On her first day she meets Zaxon and the rest is history! Zaxon is a gargoyle that knows how to draw in women hook line and sinker. The spice was so hott and I found myself completely captivated from beginning to end with this one.
Highly recommend to my monster romance lovers out there.
0 plot, 0 substance. I’ve said it before, her writing is her just living out her fantasies. If she could’ve made a resort based book with “unlikely coworkers” (because let’s be honest, there’s nothing “forced proximity” about this at all), with tail sex (I need answers on how girthy this tail is because it can somehow be used to jack him off but also satisfyingly fuck her), and DP of the most obvious and guessable kind, she would’ve. This woman couldn’t write conflict into her stories if you literally paid her to because these are all her self-insert fantasies. Lord. Amazing cringe read with friends.
Also, what in the fuck is her obsession with purple EVERYTHING? I love purple of all kinds and even I know how to have some variety. But again, all her writing is just her fantasies. Someone take her keyboard away from her PLEASE
If you’re looking for a spicy, short, cutesy entry into monster romance, Gargoyle on the Rocks with a Lemon Twist is definitely the way to go!
Rebecca Rennick always knows how to write fun, entertaining characters and bring the spice, and this one was no exception. I especially loved the black cat + golden retriever dynamic—it was absolutely adorable and such a fun pairing!
I also appreciated that this book didn’t try to do too much. It knew exactly what it wanted to be: a quick, spicy, fun little monster romance, and it delivered on that. Sometimes you just need a book that lets you sit back, enjoy the characters, and have a good time without overcomplicating the plot.
Overall, this was a cute, spicy little read and a fun addition to the monster romance shelf!
This book was a really cute, fun, and spicy quick read. I devoured this in a single sitting. Zaxon is just the cutest golden retriever of a Gargoyle and Bea is a grumpy woman just trying to do her job, but she can’t resist the shirtless Gargoyle tasked to escort her around. I absolutely love the idea of a monster resort and all of the different characters and creatures were fun and left me wanting more from this world. The spice was fun, but I also love tail play.
This book wasn’t necessarily anything new, but it was fun and comforting and I really loved reading it!
Thank you so much Rebecca for sending me an advanced reader copy!!
Gargoyle on the Rocks with a Lemon Twist by Rebecca Rennick was my first gargoyle romance, and it did not disappoint! This was such a fun, cute rom-com with just the right amount of spice to keep things interesting. The characters were easy to love, their chemistry felt natural, and the humor added a perfect balance to the romance. It’s a quick, enjoyable read that left me smiling and definitely made me want to dive into more of Rebecca's monster orgy series.
I love Rebecca and think about her gummy bear series at least once a week. Butttt
Cute and generic. Absolutely zero substance but it’s always nice to read stuff like this for a breather. I love Rebecca, her humor and mmcs are top notch. I enjoy reading everything she writes even if it doesn’t tickle my fancy.
Zaxon was a solid character. Bea felt kinda bland. The title throws me everytime, it feels sooo random
Everything Rebecca writes is pure magic! I fly threw each release she puts out. This was is the same, it’s adorable, a lot of out loud “aww”s and giggling at the cute moments, love the way she writes characters :3
