Maya & Friends Visit the Acupuncturist is a book written in children’s rhyme and serves as delightful introduction to acupuncture for kids and adults alike. Imaginatively written by practicing acupuncturist Samara White and charmingly illustrated by Troy White, Maya & Friends is a whimsical story that uses the harmonious interplay of animal and human characters and their friendship to explain to the reader, in a clear and concise way, the basics of acupuncture treatment and its benefits. I strongly recommend this book to all those adults who are familiar with acupuncture and want to find a melodious and playful way to introduce it to their children, as well as to any and all of those adults who have not yet become acquainted with acupuncture and are looking for a simple, non-heady way to learn.

This is a super fun and informative childrens book. The rhyming makes it really fun to read aloud with my son, and the illustrations are great for showing how our bodies and Chinese medicine work. Perfect for anyone wanting to explore concepts of good health with children.
