Rate this book
Kira's journey to discover who she really is continues. As she tries to separate truth from lies and uncover the secrets, an old friend returns looking for more than just Kira's blood. Kira's worries for her boyfriend Pyre, a fire demon, have only begun as he attempts to deal with his own dilemmas. With the appearance of an old flame, discovering family he didn't know he had, and the revelation of a potential new foe, Pyre is uncertain where to turn. Pyre chooses to conceal his secrets, in an effort to protect Kira, but only causes her more pain, forcing Kira to delve into his past as well as her own. Meanwhile, Kira's best friend, Lowell Hew aka Ulric the Wolf Thief, struggles with his lingering feelings for Cadel, the love who died in his arms, and the guilt he carries for her death. As he attempts to cope with his own past, he meets and falls in love with Lur, who he learns might be a demon and a threat to Kira. He grapples with his feelings for Lur, and his apprehension that she might be an enemy he must destroy. Between the appearance of old friends and lost relatives, and meeting new friends and family, it's hard to know who to trust. Will Kira be able to overcome the harsh reality or will she be crushed by the Earth's Embrace.

I majored in English at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I studied dance for twelve years, and still love it. I feel strongly about wildlife and environment conservation, animal welfare in general, and issues affecting children, women and senior citizens. I love my family, and my sweet, beautiful dog. I am strongly against hate and discrimination of all kinds.
I enjoy a variety of books, but especially enjoyed the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling and the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. All-time favorite authors include Shakespeare, Mark Twain, Charles Dickens, Emily Dickinson, and Edgar Allen Poe. I have too many favorites to name them all.
The Elemental Series is a planned five-book series which will follow the adventures of Kira as she goes to college, encounters demons, confronts evil and finds love. Kira’s story came to me during my first year of college while waiting for class to start. I began to scribble and the next thing I knew I had the beginnings of a story. I continued to imagine what would happen next and wrote bits and pieces in between classes and during work breaks. Once I typed up all the notes, I realized I had enough for a full novel, and ideas for more, resulting in the Elemental Series. I am both blessed and grateful to be following my dream.

Fun Book to Read

I received this book in a Goodreads First Reads Giveaway, but it is an honest review. I think as this author writes, she just keeps getting better and better. It is just a really fun book to read, and I just love the characters. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series.

This one picks up pretty quickly after the first. You don't miss any time in the life of these characters. We get to see each of them continue to grow individually as well as in their own relationships. Another great story-a must for fantasy and romance lovers.

Amazing second installment

This is the second installment of Kira's story which is again full of action and clean romance.
As Kira and Pyre's relationship reaches new heights the relationship between Our and Lowell is budding. What I love about this book is wait until marriage theme by the author which as per me is the right thing to do. I love the fact that Kira makes some new friends while being suspicious at first given her circumstances while not forgetting the old ones. It's good that finally she is a bit more open to life. I loved Pyre's parents and grandpa who have a small part to play in this book.

The book is well written and not at all rushed which means it gives a day to day look in the characters life and the story builds up. I am already onto the third installment of the book
Pick up this series and you won't regret.

I quickly fell in love with Fire's Love and so it was a no brainer that I was going to dive in to this book before too long. It was like reconnecting with some of my favorite characters. It was a interesting concept in this series with humans and demons. I love a story about demons and I love to learn their story and history. We keep learning more about the demons that surround Kira and you won't be able to put it down. I don't think I laughed so hard at some points because of the dialogue between the characters. It is easy to fall in love and realize the dynamic. I believe that what makes this series so good. It is the characters that you adore and want to become apart of their group. You feel like you are stuck in the middle of it and it is warm and friendly.

My favorite character in this book was Pyre. He just makes me laugh so hard. I love his hot temper and kind heart. He will blow his top one moment and be the most romantic guy within the next. He is just the kind of character that every book needs. There is something safe and warm about him that makes him unforgettable. I just adore the heck out of him and loved learning a little bit about his childhood. I want to know more about him and Lowell. I just can't stop liking this guys.

I had two favorite moments. One was during a conversation where Kira kept replying "Stuff". I mean I laughed so hard I snorted and cried. It just kept going and it was perfect. It was a perfect demonstration of how Lowell, Kira and Pyre friendship works. I literally cried. My second favorite moment was Crystal. I think she is a great villain and I can't wait to see how all this shakes down. My favorite Crystal moment was during the ice scene. It was cryptic but it was the beginning of a great intense journey. I would really love to hear Crystal's point of view even if it is a short story or novella. It would be captivating. If you can't tell. I love a good villain.

Overall I adore this series and look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series. I really enjoy the author writes and I noticed how much stronger it gets from book to book. The story is fast paced and easy to become addicted to. I will recommend this book to all of my fantasy loving friends.

Earth’s Embrace by Alex Carey has great characters who bring this paranormal fantasy to life, with amusing banter that pulls you in. The camaraderie makes you want to stay in this world.

Kira has a mysterious past and forbidding future. She becomes friends with dangerous demons and quirky humans, while threatened by an old friend who’s become a psychotic witch. Adventure, danger, and romance combine beautifully for a captivating story.

Danger intensifies as the story unfolds, and exotic dreams become terrifying perils. The discussion of symbols connected across religions and time adds depth to the adventure. I love the detailed descriptions of this world! There are many types of demons, ancient swords, unusual paintings, Pyre’s perpetual motion sculptures. Earth’s Embrace is a terrific, well written addition to the series!

This is the second book in the elemental series with Kira as the main character. In this book we learn more about the past of some of the main characters and get to know Kari's new friends better. I like how everyone human and demon is getting closer like a family. It's fun to see Kira and Prye grow as a couple and Crystal continues her plan of rebirth. Looking forward to reading the next book.

"Earth's Embrace" by Alex Carey is the second book in the Elemental Series and continues the adventures of heroin, Kira and new her friends as they battle to keep Kira safe from a psychotic former best friend who has turned to dark witchcraft. . oh yea, did I mention her new boyfriend, Pyre, & new best friend, Lowell are demons? This is a wonderful book for teens and young adults, I was fully entertained and kept on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book... In fact, I enjoyed it as much or more as the first book "Fire's Love". It answered some questions left from the first book and left me wondering what will come next in the third book of the series "Water Reflection". I highly recommend this book and series to anyone who enjoys clean romance with a sci-fi / paranormal twist. Great Job Alex! I'm hooked ;) I Must read the third book now!

A good little read. I like the characters, but wished there was a little more description. Just a little reminder here or there, because I didn't remember what any of the characters looked like. Had a hard time visualizing them or some of the places.

Otherwise, I enjoyed the plotline and character interaction. Good series for a younger audience. I liked it enough to keep reading the series.

Kira and Pyre are starting life anew and together. They want to live a normal life but how can you be normal when ones a demon who formally lived in a cave and one is an abandoned human girl? Living as roommates, but still madly in love, Kira and Pyre navigate the relationship waters with their friends by their side. There is a new sinister being stalking Kira in her dreams and they have to solve the mystery before it's too late.

This book was better than the first. It still had some hiccups along the way. Mainly transitioning from one scene to the next. I had to re read quite often. I laughed a few times reading about Pyre trying to adapt to apartment living. Such has almost setting his stuff on fire and doing random gravity checks over all his boxes.

I liked that they introduced new characters and a villian we saw coming. I'm ready for book 3 to finally get some answers.
