The Ties that Bind Them: A Dark Fantasy Demon Romance

Rate this book
“I pledge myself to you. Until the darkness kills the light, until the heavens cease to burn, I will be yours…”

That was the promise she made in life. Now Lillia Sparre is dead, those words have become a chilling curse. War is raging in the underworld. Her soul is forfeit. And if she wants to outrun her fate, she must trust a monster more devious than the one who hunts her.

In a mansion atop the hill dwells Sitri, a cold-hearted demon Prince who deals in secrets and subservience. He knows an enigma when he sees one.

The magic seal Lillia wears, and her mountain of secrets, mark her as his enemy’s property. Sitri simply must have her. He will become her shield, and her warden, if that’s what it takes to keep his crown.

He doesn’t see her resolve. She spent her whole life breaking chains, and his are no different. She would dare to lie to the Prince of Lies himself, and cast Hell’s hierarchy into chaos, if that’s what it takes to escape.

But when Lillia’s past creeps in to claim her, she finds her back against the wall. The Prince she despises is all that remains between her and the demon who owns her soul, and Sitri’s facing dangers of his own. Surrounded by enemies and uncertain of their confidants, there’s only one place left to turn; each other.

The boundaries between truth and lies, enemies and allies, begin to blur. If Lillia wants to keep her soul, she must make a dangerous choice.

Allow the Prince to claim her as his own…

Or become his downfall incarnate.

Shout out to the author Alix Godwin and Booksprout for my eARC copy of The Ties that Bind Them. You can pre-order now, otherwise the book releases October 28th 2025.

If Kingdom of the Wicked and For Whom the Belle Tolls had a baby, this is it. There were even elements that seemed very inspired by SJMs ACOTAR which I inhaled like an addict.

Straight off the bat, FMC Lilia dies at age 21, at the end of chapter 1 and wakes up naked in Hell.

Assistance comes in the form of Zaleos, a Duke of Hell that presides over Peace and Love, who finds her and offers her clothing. He encourages her to seek asylum with The Prince of Lust and Lies, Sitri.

He offers her protection which extends only so far. She has to do her due diligence to not be out and about, without the presence of one of Sitri’s trusted few. Side character Apollo is entrusted with escorting her around Lantyca. I enjoyed his character. He is loyal to Sitri but also sympathizes with Lilia and validates her feelings.

For 7 years, Lilia had little to no autonomy over her life after she made the deal with Vapula. And even in death he still controls her. Sanctuary with Sitri is her best chance at survival.

Lilia is thrust into this new world, with political

Sitri appears as this broody, manipulative sadist with a thick exterior, but underneath it all is a tender heart that loves fiercely and protects passionately.

The dynamics between Sitri is Lilia are complex initially. Both have trust issues for valid reasons. The lust and longing felt very one sided for a lot of this book. Sitris feelings for her weren't reciprocated until late in the story as she is traumatized after her ordeals under Vapulas influence. As a result she's guarded and serious about most things. It made the romance flat, where I was wanting more banter, more flirting, and teasing.

I had a moment of annoyance toward Lilia, because of the way she was very judgmental towards Sitri because of his title as Prince of Lust and Lies. She defined him by his title assuming that he was not capable of feeling anything else. Her opinion was highly misplaced considering she sold her soul to a literal demon, who's also his enemy.

The world building and character development though fast paced at times was very easy to follow along and visualize. It was reminiscent of Tolkien's ability to bring his books to life in the minds of his readers.

The writing is easy to digest and pulled me in straight away. It did fall flat around the middle due to all their bickering, and her repetitive desire for full transparency when she was not willing to reciprocate with answers regarding herself. It did pick up again very quickly.

There are undertones of suicide and depression, which AG handled gently and with care. Check your triggers!!!

For a debut novel Alix Godwin did an amazing job. There are so many elements that readers of high fantasy will love and appreciate.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

For me, this deserves a 6 star rating.
This had everything I could possibly ask for. It had mystery, battle scenes, sassy banter, flirting, slow burn, deceit, demons, and an intense hierarchy that has a complex set of rules for the rulers.
It also has an amazing plot, an MMC that you love to hate, and a strong FMC who wants the bare bones truth so she knows what she's walking into, choice or not.
As for Sitri and Lillia, I had hoped for a HEA, but I have to say I was not expecting the ending I got.
And I loved every word of it. This was a hell of a page turner, and every page had something going on. The story demanded you keep going, so I did. I ate this up in one day. And all I have to ask Alix is, will there be more?

Following Lillia as she wakes up in Hell and navigates the complex hierarchies and deceptions of its demonic inhabitants, this novel checked so many boxes for me! I loved the themes of found family, healing, and Lillia’s reclamation of power and agency. Sitri brought just the right amount of spice and banter. It was never overwhelming, but always something to look forward to.

The story kicks off with a fast-paced introduction to major events and key players in Hell. It then slows down to explore Lillia’s internal struggle as she comes to terms with her new reality while still grappling with the trauma of her past. I liked how Hell’s mysteries and intricate set of rules unraveled as Lillia stumbled naively through this new life. The pace ramps up again as she finds new purpose, driven by love and a fierce desire to protect her found family from looming threats.

By the end, I loved seeing the characters grow into themselves while still acknowledging they have more to learn and overcome. It’s a strong setup for what promises to be a continuation of Lillia and Sitri’s story.
Thank you to Alix Godwin for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!

Arc Review✨
Thank you to the author Alix Godwin for sending me this digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

-All thoughts and opinions are my own.

THIS ISN’T A BOOK. THIS IS AN EVENT. THIS IS A POSSESSION. THIS IS ME SCREAMING INTO THE VOID.

Alix Godwin didn’t just write a book. She opened a portal, shoved me inside, locked the door, and whispered “good luck surviving” as the demon romance of my nightmares (and my dreams) swallowed me whole. The Ties That Bind Them isn’t simply a dark fantasy romance — it’s an unholy pact between author and reader. I went in with curiosity. I came out obsessed, feral, and questioning my entire moral compass.

This story? It’s not soft. It’s not safe. It’s sharp. Razor-blade prose, dripping tension, the kind of emotional slow-burn that sets your bones on fire. This is obsession dressed up as a narrative. It’s characters dancing on the edge of ruin. It’s a love story so dark it leaves claw marks on your heart but so achingly vulnerable you’d burn for them anyway.

The demon love interest? Unwell. Deranged. Magnetic. I spent half the book muttering “this man needs therapy” and the other half muttering “this man needs to come ruin my life next.” His possessiveness? Unholy. His tenderness (hidden under a mountain of cruelty)? Deadly. He’s every bad decision you’ve ever wanted to make wrapped in shadows and teeth.

The heroine? I don’t even have words. She’s powerful but breakable, sharp but soft in secret places. She claws her way through hell with dignity and rage, and I would sell my soul just to sit next to her for five minutes. This isn’t a weak damsel. This is a survivor, a fighter, a queen in the making — and the dynamic between her and the demon is pure chaotic perfection.

Every chapter is a battle between “this is so wrong” and “I will never recover if this stops.” I highlighted passages like a maniac. I screamed out loud. I laughed, cried, and stared at the ceiling like, “Is this normal? Am I okay?” (I am not okay.) The tension is unbearable — and Godwin makes you live there, simmering, trembling, desperate for release.

And can we talk about the worldbuilding? This isn’t just some dark castle and a few cursed trinkets. This world breathes. It hungers. It’s folklore and blood pacts, demons with ancient rules, power structures dripping with menace. Every corner feels alive and dangerous. It’s dark fantasy done right — immersive, dangerous, irresistible.

By the end, I wasn’t just reading anymore. I was praying. For more chapters. For a sequel. For a chance to feel this level of emotional chaos again. This book didn’t just entertain me — it reprogrammed me. It made me feral. It made me ache. It left me sitting in silence, staring at the wall, whispering, “what did I just experience?”

Alix Godwin, you’ve created a masterpiece of dark, intoxicating, demon-fueled obsession. This is the kind of book that ruins you for anything else. This is the kind of book that crawls under your skin and stays there. If the sequel dropped tomorrow, I would read it at 3AM, sell my soul to a demon for an ARC, and thank them for the privilege.

I’m not giving this five stars. I’m giving it my heart, my sanity, and my eternal devotion.

📖 Title: The Ties That Bind Them
✍️ Author: Alix Godwin
🗓️ Release: 28 October 2025 (Available on KU)
⭐️ Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

The story follows Lillia, a human girl who, at a very young age, is swayed into a demonic bargain—promising her soul to a demon in a desperate attempt to fix her life. What she believes will be her salvation quickly becomes the beginning of her downfall.

Trying to escape the consequences of that bargain leads to her untimely death (no spoilers here — it’s chapter one). On the run from the demon who owns her soul, she seeks refuge in the court of another: Sitri, the Prince of Lust and Lies.

Thrown into the political and dangerous landscape of Hell, Lillia must learn to navigate a world built on manipulation, desire, and power. And whether she wants it or not, she’s about to play a crucial role in the unfolding conflict.

At its core, this book is a story about reclaiming power.
Lillia is a deeply relatable FMC — someone who’s lived her life being controlled, underestimated, and unappreciated. Watching her refuse to let the same happen in death is incredibly satisfying. Her character growth is steady, empowering, and beautifully written as she steps out of the role of a pawn and into her own strength.

Then there’s Sitri, the Prince of Lust and Lies.
He’s not your typical brooding “shadow daddy” type, which honestly feels refreshing. Instead, Sitri is cunning, smooth, and knows how to wield your deepest wishes and secrets like a weapon — but beneath all that charm and manipulation is a complexity that makes him hard not to be intrigued by.

The connection between Lillia and Sitri isn’t instant or easy. It’s slow, layered, and built on hard-earned trust in a world where trust can get you killed. Their dynamic walks that perfect line between danger and desire, enemies and allies — and the tension is chef’s kiss.

Their relationship doesn’t overshadow the story; it enhances it. Both of them carry trauma, both have been used and exploited, and both are clawing their way back to autonomy. Instead of saving one another, they stand side by side, pushing each other to grow stronger.

The world-building is rich without being overwhelming, and the story balances action, politics, and emotion beautifully. The romance simmers in the background, weaving itself naturally into the plot.
The spice is just enough — not too much, not too little, perfectly placed to make their bond feel real and earned.

✨ Tropes you’ll find:
• Dark romantasy
• Enemies to lovers
• Forced proximity
• Slow burn
• Trauma and angst
• Captive/prisoner dynamic
• War backdrop

Overall, The Ties That Bind Them is a story about power, survival, and choosing who you become when the world tries to break you. It’s fast-paced, emotionally grounded, and an impressive debut. Lillia’s growth is genuinely satisfying to watch, and Sitri is the kind of morally grey MMC that keeps you on your toes.

I’m really looking forward to seeing where their story goes next.

✨ Favourite Quote:

“Because I want you as my own, not as a mere consort, but as an equal; a partner, a lover. It would destroy me to watch you fade, but if it pleases you? I would see myself destroyed a thousand times over, darling.”

Shout out to Alix Godwin for your debut novel and thankyou for the opportunity to read this arc through book sprout!

Idk about you but I’m loving that in the beginning we ☠️ and then the rest of the story is us in the afterlife.
Honestly I hope this doesn’t come across as morbid (I also don’t want any higher powers out there to think I’m ready to go early…) but I look forward to exploring the afterlife when it’s my time. I fully believe I have a whole adventure awaiting.

Will there be a brooding Prince of Lust and Lies waiting for me?

I enjoyed exploring this realm and learning its lore and meeting its beastly creatures.
I wanted more though! I wanted to know more of Vapula! And even Zaleos, he was so mysterious I look forward to more from this series to see if we will get to know him better. Was he really as cunning or untrusting as everyone made him out to be?

I really liked Apollos character, I suppose he was like a main side piece but yes I liked him and in my minds eye he was a handsome brute, he had a warm kind nature which I found comforting amongst all the danger or hostility towards Lillia.

Sitri was sitri lol 😂 our MMC, our Prince. I feel like he was pretty straight forward? I really liked him he was who he was and I think he deserved a chance I feel like Lillia didn’t give him a fair shot right from the beginning and then omg sometimes she would pick these arguments and I’d think GIRL there are way more pressing matters at hand what are you even doing. 🤦‍♀️

Like yea he wasn’t too forth coming with certain things but I suppose that all together helped build the tension for me.

One thing i couldn’t stop wondering about was the drinking oils lol and the bathing with them only to find out ol Vapula had electricity like can we finally have an actual wash lol that had me cracking up.

As much as Lillia got on my nerves (that is normal for me, i either love the FMC or I can’t stand her lol)
I was so happy she claimed a top spot in the end.

There’s definitely more to the story and I look forward to finding out more like… where’s Mara? 🤔

Will she turn up in the next?
Will have to find out 🩷

Author Alix Godwin has written a complex and immersive first, in what I hope is many, book in the ‘Queen’s War’ series. ‘The Ties That Bind Them’ introduces Sitri and Lilli—both of which held my attention from their introduction.

Sitri, the Demon Prince of Lust and Lies—and owning it—somehow manages to retain threads of humanity through his interactions with Lillia. While Lillia, a human that fell into another demon’s trap, finds herself having to try to trust Sitri (hello! Lust and Lies?!) to try to protect her from Vapula. Their journey to their HEA is anything but smooth—the roughest legs of their journey being bitter, raw, bloody, and deadly. But the best parts? The best parts are sweeter than nectar …

⭐ Dark, addictive, and absolutely perfect! ⭐

Review for The Ties that Bind Them by Alix Godwin

I am extremely grateful to have received this book at no cost from the author to participate in an ARC reading in exchange for my unbiased and honest opinions.

When I say I loved this book — I. Loved. This. Book.
I was utterly obsessed with the story and the characters! I loved every single part of it.

The slow burn? Perfect.
The character development? Per...fect!
The dark demon fantasy? Perfect!
Captive/prisoner and forced proximity? PERFECT!!!

This book had me in a chokehold, and I was not complaining one bit! It completely overran my thoughts from start to finish (and beyond). I can’t wait to reread it before book two releases.

I truly hope it’s made into an audiobook so I can relive the experience and fall in love with the characters all over again.

I’ve always believed in the idea of “right book, right time,” and let me tell you — for me, this was 100% the right book at the right time. I can’t wait to dive even deeper into this world in book two.

This book has it all! Picture a world brimming with mystery, electrifying battle scenes, sassy banter, and a slow-burn romance that keeps you at the edge of your seat. It delves into deceit and demons, set against an intense hierarchy that draws you in from the very first page. The story kicks off with a thrilling introduction to the wild events and key players in Hell, then beautifully slows down to capture Lillia’s emotional journey as she grapples with her new reality and past trauma.

What’s truly captivating is how the intricate mysteries and rules of Hell unfold as Lillia navigates her way through this uncharted territory. Just when you think you’ve settled in, the pace skyrockets as she discovers newfound purpose, fueled by love and a fierce commitment to protect her chosen family from looming dangers. The world-building and character development, though fast-paced, are impressively easy to follow and visualize, pulling you deeper into the narrative.

And the growth of the characters by the end? Absolutely rewarding! They evolve into their true selves while acknowledging that their journey is far from over. This is just the beginning for Lillia and Sitri, and believe me, you won’t want to miss what’s next!

For a debut novel, Alix Godwin has truly outdone herself! It packs a punch and has elements that every high fantasy reader will adore and appreciate. I look for forward to the next work of art by Alix 🖤

ARC Review

I try to go into a book with the minimum information about it. I avoid reading reviews and posts about the book I am about to read. I want to go in with an open, clear mind.

And thats exactly what I did with this book.
I had zero clue what was coming my way so I really got to enjoy every twist, turn, and triumph

We follow the story of our FMC, Lillia. Her life is not an easy one. She uses certain substances as an escape to block out thoughts and pressures she has been dealt. Waking up in hell was not on her to-do list, but through her death and new life, she grows into herself and is finally seen in the way she has always craved to be

This story is written in the FMCs POV, but the back story and growth we get of the MMC is still there. Meet the demon Prince of Lust and Lies, Sitri. He became who he is to survive and lost who he was in the process. Meeting Lillia, however, brought him to a place where he could be himself as the demon known for his lies, he cant help but trust her with his truth.

This is a slow burn enemies to lovers with forced proximity, she asks for protection but feels like his prisoner. There is banter, there is past trauma, there is battles, there is rescues, there is loyalty, their is trust, and ultimately, there is love.

I loved the ending of this book it ends on a good note yet leaves us wanting more, so I am so glad this is the first book in the series, and I look forward to reading book 2

This book didn’t just pull me into Hell — it chained me there.

Lillia wakes up in Hell and has to navigate its twisted hierarchy, deceitful demons, and rules written in blood. What unfolds is a dark fantasy demon romance full of pain, healing, found family, and the reclaiming of power that’s been stripped away. Every chapter drips with tension, banter, and just the right amount of spice. Just enough to keep you on edge, but never overwhelm you.

And then there’s Sitri. Unhinged. Possessive. Dangerous in every way that makes your pulse race. His chemistry with Lillia is magnetic and chaotic, the kind of slow-burn connection that leaves you questioning your moral compass while desperately rooting for them anyway.

The pacing was chef’s kiss: fast and fiery in the beginning, introspective and emotional in the middle, then explosive at the end. I wasn’t just reading — I was consumed.

Alix Godwin didn’t just write a story; she crafted an experience. This is dark fantasy done right — sharp, immersive, and emotionally devastating in the best way.

If you love your romance with danger, your demons with depth, and your heroines forged in fire, this one will possess you completely.

A powerful, emotional journey about love, loyalty, and the secrets that test them.
The Ties That Bind Them by Alix Godwin completely wrecked me—in the best possible way. From the very first chapter, I was drawn into the tangled lives of the characters, each one carrying their own heartbreak, hope, and hidden truths. Godwin has a gift for creating deeply human stories—ones that don’t shy away from pain, but still leave room for redemption and healing.
The writing is raw yet beautifully lyrical, and the relationships feel real and messy, just like life. Every emotion, every twist, felt earned. By the time I turned the last page, I was sitting in silence, just letting it all sink in.
If you enjoy stories about found family, forgiveness, and the complexity of love that endures through the hardest moments, this book is absolutely worth reading. Alix Godwin proves once again that she knows how to craft characters who stay with you long after you finish the book.
Highly recommend for fans of emotional fiction, second chances, and heartfelt storytelling.

I received an early copy of this book and was hooked from the very first page.

After making a deal with a demon, Lillia loses her life at 21 and wakes up in Hell. She’s found by Zaleo's, a Duke who helps her seek refuge with Sitri, the Prince of Lust and Lies. Sitri offers her protection, and Apollo, one of his loyal followers, guides her through this strange new world.

Lillia struggles with control and trust after years under Vapula’s influence. Sitri appears cold and manipulative, but beneath it all, he’s protective and caring. Their relationship is slow to build, weighed down by trauma and misunderstanding, and I found myself wishing for more spark between them.

The story moves quickly, with strong world-building and easy-to-follow writing. It slows a bit in the middle but picks up again toward the end. Themes of loss and depression are handled with care.

For a debut 1st book, Alix Godwin delivers an engaging fantasy with heart, depth, and plenty of potential for what’s to come.

First of all, Thank you so much, Alix, for the ARC opportunity! 🙏

Honestly, this book pulled me in from the first page. 📖 A mix of demons, intrigue, and slow-burn romance kept me hooked the whole way.😮‍💨

Lillia’s journey is wild, she gets under your skin sometimes 😅, but you can’t help rooting for her.
Sitri is broody and stubborn 😏, in all the right ways, and their dynamic with Lillia kept me engaged the entire time.

The side characters -Vapula, Zaleos, Apollos- are fascinating, mysterious, and just a little unpredictable, which made the world feel alive and full of surprises. 🤭

The little magical details and mishaps added so much charm ✨, and there were moments that literally made me laugh out loud.

The pacing is perfect, blending action, emotional depth, and humor seamlessly.👌

By the end, I was left wanting more… and I can’t wait for the next installment to see where Lillia, Sitri, and the rest of the crew go next.

If you’re into fantasy with heart ❤️, humor 😆, intrigue 🗝️, and a touch of chaos 🔥, this one’s definitely worth checking out.

This debut novel by Alix Godwin was sooooo good! I couldn’t put it down. Sitri and Lillia’s relationship was definitely a slow burn but I loved that when they finally did get together he wanted her to be his equal, his better half. Never again a consort and never again inferior.

Lillia came to hell as a lost girl and ended the book as a powerful demoness. I loved reading about her growth throughout the book. Sitri and Lillia’s love for each other was sweet and spicy. She started off not trusting him but in the end she trusted him with her life and soul.

Favorite quote: “Because I want you as my own,” he answered. “Not as some mere consort, but as an equal; a partner, a lover. It would destroy me to watch you fade, but if it pleased you? I would see myself destroyed a thousand times over, darling. You remind me of who I was before Hell changed me, before I became a Prince. “

Thank you to Alix Godwin for the ARC. All thoughts are my own.

I received this book as an arc and this is my honest review. I really enjoyed this book. It took me a minute to get into as I felt like the first ten chapters were slow. But once I got into Lillia not fighting everyone and everything and Sitri making more of an effort, the book just flowed.

The hierarchy the author painted of Hell, I really enjoyed. As well as the piece about how you advance in the world of demons we will say. From the moment that Lillia and Sitri’s relationship started to grow I couldnt put the book down. Throw in a murderess demoness and a golden retriever demon and do I want some side stories now. Specifically for Apollo and I would love to see more of Mara at some point.

All in all a great read and I cannot wait for book 2.

Rating 5/5
Imagine one tiny vow changing the trajectory of your whole life… and afterlife! This story follows Lillia (fmc) and Sitiri (MMC). After her death the FMC finds herself in a peculiar situation and must take refuge with the prince of Lies and Lust. This is something she by no means wants to do but she knows there is an evil out there who will stop at nothing to have her in his clutches. The author does an amazing job of showing the parallels between the MCs and the gradual destruction of the walls that the characters have built around themselves. The build in this story is amazing and I could not put it down.

Thank you so much to Alix for the copy of this book! All thoughts and opinions are my own!💜💜

This is such a fascinating take on Hell and the demon Princes who control it. I loved all of the twists and turns that just kept coming throughout this novel. From moments of such great sincerity and honesty to some of the most delectably twisted lies, this one will have you hanging on page after page & won't let you go! Sitri and Lillia’s story is one for the ages.

“I will never force you…If I am to own you, it will be your choice.”

“I want you as my own…as an equal; a partner, a lover…you remind me of who I was before Hell changed me.”

“He was everything – my strength, my courage, my shield, and my sword. I would raise Hell itself if it meant that I could have this.”

The first book in The Queen’s War, a dark fantasy demon romance with a slow-burn enemies to lovers trope between Lillia and Sitri, the demon Prince who is her captor. Lillia, awakening in hell naked after her death, finds the best way to navigate this new place is with the demon Prince of Lust and Lies, Sitri. Apollo is definitely gonna be a fan favorite! The build up starts off slow and then catapults us into a story full of angst, action, complex characters, bargains, and romance. Godwin’s writing pulls you in as if your a fly on the wall of this story.

I was hooked on this book. Despite long days (15 hours plus) I still couldn’t wait to unwind with this book at 1am. The characters were likeable and left you wanting to know more. The spicy scenes were well written without being vulgar and built into the plot well. I struggled to put this book down and can’t wait to find out what happens next. I would highly recommend this book for fans of romantasy, strong FMCs, and good banter and witty characters.

Thank you to Alix for allowing me to read this eARC!

I absolutely loved this book! the beginning was a little slow, but not enough that I ever didn't want to push through. the characters were well developed, the story was great, and I felt like it ended on a good note. there was a resolution at the end, but it also left room for a continuation of the story that I so desperately need! ive already been telling my friends to check this out when it releases. thank you again and I can't wait to see how much everyone else loves this too!

❤️‍🔥ARC Review❤️‍🔥

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️

This book grabbed me by the throat (literally and emotionally) and refused to let go.

The Ties That Bind Them is gothic, sensual, and gut-wrenching in the best way.
Lillia is a heroine with fire in her veins, and Sitri… oh, Sitri.
The morally gray demon prince of my nightmares, and I mean that lovingly.

The worldbuilding is rich, the writing is cinematic, and the slow burn?
Torture in the most delicious way possible.
If you love your fantasy with teeth and your romance with claws…this one’s for you. 🖤

Tropes: enemies to lovers, captive/prisoner, forced proximity, hurt/comfort, royal supernatural hero

The Ties that Bind Them was a good fantasy read with some dark romance aspects.

It had a good plot, not overly complicated, good banter, a slow burn, and good spice.

I just do not give the 5 stars because I personally felt there was not that much chemistry between the FMC and MMC, but the ending brought together some of that feeling.

Oh my goodness, this story has it all! What a stunning, page turning book with the right amount of twists, tension and spice!

I loved the build up, the characters Lillia and Sitri, their interactions, the book felt as a perfect adventure.

To me, reading this book, was a trip on a roller coaster, that came too soon to end.

I’ll look out for the sequel! 🤩🤩 What an outstanding debut from Alix Godwin!! 😎.

Wow!! I was hooked from page one!!

This book was everything that was promised to me- dark, enemies to lovers and some good banter.
I loved Lillia, even though her life wasn’t good and it was so easy to keep falling, she chose to fight for her soul.
She is fierce and determined and her character growth is so beautifully written.
Sitri is so good for Lillia. He brings out the fight in her and makes her stronger.

I loved all the characters and story was so good! I can’t wait to continue Lillia’s journey!!

If you’re a fan of Kerri Maniscalco’s Kingdom of the Wicked series then you will enjoy this book! The story follows Lillia as she finds her place in Hell. After making a deal with a demon at age 14 she tries her best in life and death to avoid him. When she makes her way to Hell she finds herself at the mercy of demon prince. What ensues next is a story of close proximity, found family and defying fate.

✨ ARC review coming in hotttt

This one wasn’t in my usual genre- but I loved the blerp for it so I gave it a shot.. The plot was honestly insane in the best way- the descriptions of some things had me questioning if the author has seen things we haven’t. It was a little slow at first, but when it got going, wow. There’s a few loose ends with characters I would love to see where they go though- especially Apollo! Not a quick read, but definitely worth it!

Where do I start? This book was amazing for the first book of a series. The main character was relatable to begin with, and as you read along with it. The storyline was attention-grabbing with spice mix in it. Like, I know this book will be on my mind for a while. It has definitely made it to one of my top reads of the year.

I’m going to keep this short and sweet. OMG. This book brings you into a world that you didn’t know you’d fall in love with. Lillia and Sitri were the best, most well developed and descriptive characters I’ve read. And the world was that and then some. This book was absolutely amazing. It was dark, it was twisted, it was hot, and so much more.
Demons and spice oh my!.
