Lust of the Eyes

Rate this book
A THREE-PART CHRISTIAN ROMANCE NOVELLA WITH A SPLASH OF SUSPENSEThe “Lust of the Eyes” is one of the three areas of temptation spoken of in I John 2:16 that has gotten man into trouble from the beginning of time. Sierra Lloyd is a young Christian girl who is exceedingly blessed! A promising career, an affluent lifestyle, and pure independence are some of the blessings for which she is most grateful. Sierra is actually very content with her life until temptation in the form of her best friend’s hot fiancé, Taj Brooks, comes knocking on her door. The man is full of ego with a devilish personality and amazingly good looks. It’s not long before Sierra is completely taken by Taj, but her Christian morals won’t let her betray her best friend. Taj, on the other hand, has no qualms about making it hard for Sierra to resist him and he thoroughly enjoys the chase! Sierra soon finds herself involved in confusion, lies and most of all...a love triangle she never anticipated! Feeling hopeless, she is soon being consoled by her boss’ son, Reuben Bradshaw, who has secretly desired her for years. As secrets about Taj’s character come to light and Sierra’s guilt eats at her from the inside out, she’s torn between trying to walk away from the passion she feels for Taj and walking into the safe and welcoming arms of her Christian faith. “Lust of the Eyes” by H. H. Fowler is the first novella in a drama-drenched, three-part series.

This was a good read and it had a lot of valuable lessons in it. Temptation is something else. When you are trying to do right. The enemy will use all kinds of temptation to attempt us. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Be Careful Little Eyes What You See..

EXCELLENT! Loved it from beginning to halting end, which confused me! I presumed I would be actually downloading the entire story, but in reality it was the sequel. This read did more than enough to remind the Christian community just how detrimental lust can truly be and I believe there are times that we are truly blinded by the actual concept of it until it leads to more sin. It made me personally stand and take an inward look at myself and conduct a personal exam about what I look at and how I interpret it. This is definitely a recommend and worth reading what comes next. I might have to make a trip to the altar if I read much more. But I am comforted in knowing that my Father is faithful and just to forgive us of all.

This book was slow starting but took off at the end. Giving into your desires can lead to all types of problems. Even though Sierra knew better, temptation got the best of her. She craved something for herself that she didn't know how to control. Respect for one another needs to be important in a relationship. Taj is full of himself and feels he can have any woman he wants. I feel bad he set up the girls and sabotage their friendships. I wonder how Jennifer will take the truth?

Riveting, challenging, thought-provoking

HH Fowler tells a story that is very true, one that calls the reader to consider which "lusts of the eye'' they indulge in. It is a wake up call to consider the role our choices play in things we blame the devil for.

Disappointed

Unfulfilled. I dislike books that leave you hanging in the middle of a story. It doesn't make you run out and get the next one
