Sure, the trope is well-worn: super-rich alpha meets fierce magical outsider. But in Wilde’s hands, even clichés feel like they’re being knitted fresh from a cozy, witchy yarn. The potential for witty banter, tension that’ll have you clutching your blanket (and maybe your heart), and the intoxicating promise of forbidden love—it’s all there, simmering under a velvet cloak.
Final Verdict: A swoon-worthy potion of magic, power, and romance that promises to deliver all the pulsing heat and emotional fireworks you could crave. For those ready to lose themselves in a decadent, star-crossed fairy tale—with some serious paranormal bite—this one’s going on your “need to read” list, stat.
This is my 3rd read by Selene Wilde. (I had previously bought and read Embracing the Enemy, and then I was given the opportunity to review this book. I decided to purchase and read the first book in this series Billionaire Alpha's Witch Assassin as i personally like reading books in order and although you dont HAVE to read the first book I would HIGHLY suggest it as it gives you a much more rich backstory to these unique and fun characters).

The Stolen Spring . . .
Maya and Cassie are training while Dominic King, Alpha of Wolf Island, quietly watches as he leans against the doorframe. His sister Cassie has always been “intuitive”, easily reading people. But her dreams lately made Maya insist Cassie was a Seer, a rare gift to shifters, but with a witch grandmother, it was quite possible. And Dominic was all wolf, letting Maya tease him about it. Maya seemed to bring out the best in people. He remembered back when a witch collective sent assassin Parody Hawthorne (Maya) to kill him, but they turned out to be fated mates and she chose to be with him and became his Luna. He enjoyed her scent of magic, and his pack loved her. He sat on his porch and listened to the island waves. When his Beta Matt stepped out with a message, it was not pleasant news. He feared it was the Council, but it was worse… another Alpha, saying he needs help with witches and specifically wants Dominic, although he should have gone through the Council with his request. Then he further demanded Dominic come to him in person by the next day! Frank Decker was an Alpha he already hated, always pushing boundaries. It seemed nothing about him had improved. He called in a few favors to get Decker’s phone number which he hadn’t provided. He finally got Decker to tell him what’s going on. Witches in Ash Hollow were poisoning their water and bookings are down for his tourist resort as well as his reputation being damaged. He didn’t mention Nightshade, so it may just be a local coven and he was very vague. And Dominic, to do the right thing, called the Council who told him to go and final out what is really happening. He doesn’t want to be a delegate for something this big. It’s too political and nothing he ever wanted to do. And Decker would hate Maya simply for her witch blood. So they agree to go together to check this out.
A long time ago, a war that the wolves won let them grab ownership of the spring and land. But the spring is attuned to witch magic -- and it’s dying because wolves were never meant to have it, have overused it for generations without taking care of it and have never tended to the spring’s magic or honored it. It was powerful once. Clean, vibrant, alive in a way the wolves clearly can’t imagine after all this time! Now it’s strained and barely functional, because no one has honored the bond it relied on. But what she is revealing to them causes Frank Decker to turn to Maya sharply, suspicion in his expression, suddenly realizing there might be more to Maya. He may be the sperm donor that created Maya -- the daughter he’d discarded who had witch blood in her. With tempers rising, Maya walked away and told Dominic they needed to go to the witch High Priestess and get some real answers. She did a simple spell to be shown where to find the witches and they drove there to find a resolution. They met with Agatha, the High Priestess, and learned the truth about the greedy wolves. They sold the water to tourists, claiming it was a Fountain of Youth. Now the coven’s magic is also dwindling without the spring’s water. Maya told her that she felt a spell on the water, a vengeful curse. Agatha told her legend said the mother who saved the children when the wolves took the spring cursed it so the wolves could never truly claim it. Dominic and Maya promised to have the Council return the spring to them. Can they make that happen? Or will they be attacked to prevent them from doing what’s right? And even if they can, will it be too late to save the dying spring?

Can be read as a standalone but will make more sense if you've read the first ("Billionaire Alpha's Witch Assassin").

Maya finds out what being part of a family means. She finally meets her father and it doesn’t go well. The Wolf Island pack have accepted her as part of the pack and are willing to protect her. You also have the witch coven leader Agatha seeing something in Maya and helping her as well. I loved the ending and finding out who Maya’s mother is. Things are made clearer with this book.

What a powerful story!
I started reading this not knowing what to expect as this is the first book of Selene Wilde’s I’ve read. However…what a powerhouse of a story! From being a fated mate to an Alpha and reborn as his Luna, having a pack care about her, to finding out who her real father is and being reviled by him and his Luna and son, this poor woman went through a lot. All over a spring too. The writing is exceptional, the plot just moves along at a good pace and wow, the emotions in this story are unreal!

Most shifter stories have tension between the MMC and FMC. You will not find that here. But there is plenty of spice. I’d say about 3 chilis worth to get your heart pumping. Really enjoyed this shifter romance. They are fated mates destined to bring peace between the wolf and witches sects. They support each other completely with no angst or tension which was great to read. Lots happening in this story and the authors pacing is excellent. Great story, highly recommended!!.

This is the second story in the "Magick, Moonlight and Mayhem" series. It is the continued story of Maya and Dominic. It is a page turner paranormal read that I could not put down. Their story is suspenseful read about fated mates with some betrayal, danger, action, passion, love and surprises. The story is intense, emotional and develops nicely.

This is a shifter/witch story wrapped up with plenty of adventure and angst. Maya is a shifter/witch and Dominic is her mate. However, what they want may clash with what Dominic was sent to do. Well written story!.
