Brantley Walker and Reese Tavoularis are plunging headfirst into the satisfying chaos of married life. Although their preference would be to sit on a beach enjoying umbrella drinks for a week, the honeymoon will have to wait. With Jessica James treating her hospital stay like an all-inclusive spa getaway—complete with bed rest and boredom—Brantley, Reese, Baz, and the rest of the team are bracing themselves for the inevitable twists and turns ahead.
Meanwhile, Atticus James shares not only the same last name with JJ but also the irritation that comes with monotony. He’s spending his days sifting through partner applications, waiting for the day he’ll see some of the action. Just when he thinks his excitement levels have hit rock bottom, Brantley hands him his first case assignment. Only he’s not sure he wants it once he learns what it is. But if suffering is the name of the game, he can think of no better partner in misery and mayhem than Slade Elliott.
While Atticus and Slade are busy with their detective shenanigans, the rest of the team isn’t just tuning in to their favorite podcast; they’re about to dive headfirst into a live episode of Havoc Your Way when the podcast’s host stops by. But Simon Jennings isn’t there to sign autographs. He’s dropping in with a case that veers dangerously close to home, blending the bizarre with the familiar, as he seeks their expertise to untangle a web that’s both outside their skill set and uncomfortably personal.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Nicole Edwards spends her days stringing words together to make complete sentences. Sometimes not. Her best friend is coffee, and she has a love/hate relationship with sarcasm. She’s been accused of having a filthy imagination, which she admits is true.
Nicole lives in the suburbs of Austin, Texas. She proudly claims one husband, three grown children, and two bosses (better known as the dogs). When she isn’t writing, watching football or hockey, or keeping her bosses happy, you can probably find her with a book in hand.
Better find a horse for this ride. This book is SO F'ING GOOD! 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 The characters, the build-up, the information, the BIG ONE! OMG, THE BIG ONE!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ FUUUUUCK MY LIFE!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Not sure I'll be recovering from this book hangover any time soon.
Friggin stellar read, I didn't want it to end, and that ending had me wanting to throw my Kindle across the room. As you may know, if you have been following my reviews, I don't give spoilers, so don't expect any here, even though I want to scream and shout over the ending. I will hold my tongue, or in this case, I will erase anything that remotely sounds like a spoiler.
In this episode of Brantley Walker: Off the Books, we have some interesting things going on. We are adding more members to the team, We have some tiny additions to the team as well, an interesting case pops up at the local high school which Attiucs and Slade are handling (lets hope they handle that better than their relationship) AAAANNNNDDDD the guys and gals are looking into a case that they didn't even know existed, is it a real case or is it a conspieracy theory?
First of all - that last chapter. Oh. My. GOSH! My four star rating comes from the last few chapters. The rest of the book for me was actually more like a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ review - sadly.
As a longtime fan of Nicole and her incredible storytelling, I always look forward to diving back into this world. Missing Pieces just wasn’t quite the standout I had hoped for in the series. I found it harder to stay engaged with some of the couples and side plots. The pacing felt slower in parts, and I struggled to reconnect with some of the characters. A number of side characters were difficult to place since they haven’t been around for a little while, and I often found myself skimming through sections that didn’t quite hold my attention.
That said, the final chapter completely flipped the script. The twist was jaw-dropping and has me genuinely excited (and anxious!) for what’s next. It's clear this book serves a purpose in the larger arc of the series, even if it didn’t land as a favorite for me personally.
I’m absolutely continuing with the series and trust that Nicole is leading us toward something unforgettable.
Well, I’m not sure where to start with this review, there is so much going on in this book and the ending is something else. Nicole is an evil genius and I applaud the ending of this book, even if I am incredibly annoyed with her! 😂 I hope that we don’t have to wait too long for the next instalment.
Brantley and Reese are incredibly happy and it’s so good to see. They’ve been through so much and it’s so nice to have them in such a good place.
All the Task Force seem to be sorting themselves out and working well together. It’s ever changing but I love how they all seem to take it in their stride.
JJ is full of her usual spice and sass and keeping Baz and everyone on their toes. I’m loving these two together and I’m so hoping they get to stay in their happy place for as long as possible. JJ really deserves some peace in her life.
The story itself is moving on with more bits and pieces slotting in. It’s definitely gearing up for something big to happen and this book definitely puts us on the path to some resolutions. I hoping they will be good ones but who knows. I hope that we get the answers we need from the mic drop in this story sooner rather than later.
I adore this world and these characters and the next book can’t come soon enough.
When I reviewed the previous book in this series, I mentioned that it felt like a present to all of the readers of the series. I also predicted the next book would have the OTB team jumping in with both feet, back to their investigations and mysteries. Boy, was that an understatement.
While the beginning of this book was a lot of set-up, the feeling that everything was balancing on a precipice hung over everything. JJ and Baz waiting for those babies to come into the world, Brantley and Reese knowing there is something big coming from an outside source but not knowing details yet, Slade and Atticus trying to navigate this thing between them when Slade has issues he has to deal with. It was an interesting mix of slow unfolding and tension that was ratcheting everything up.
I am so invested in the Slade/Atticus/Carson story, which means I’m super frustrated with Slade. The man needs to talk to someone about his jealousy and low self-esteem. I hope he finds a way to make things right with Atticus and Carson before it’s too late, although the last few chapters have me fearing it may already be too late. I just know he’s going to fly off the handle again. And that’s not okay. The way he acts is not okay. He knows it; now he needs to do something about it.
Although Slade doesn’t speak to his brother Spencer, it’s clear they have the same M.O. when it comes to lashing out at those closest to them. I have high hopes for the Spencer/Archer pairing. I honestly don’t know if I can love Archer more than I already do. He is kind, fierce, smart, intuitive, and just plain hot.
This story brings up a lot of old names and even an old face. Everyone is involved in one way or another, and it’s time to unravel the mystery. This one ends on a cliffhanger. The team is going to have their work cut out for them, which means the author is going to have her work cut out for her. There are a lot of strings to pull and tangles to unknot.
I feel I should mention that there are some extremely disturbing things revealed before we even get to the shocking news. Check your content warnings! The author treats this subject with a lot of care and doesn’t let our fabulous team that we know and love take any excuses or listen to any sort of justification, but it’s still upsetting. (Don’t worry, the person in the wrong is not seen on page and is nobody fans would be emotionally invested in.)
I’m sure I’ve mentioned it about another book in this series, this is the 12th book after all, but this felt like an “information” book. There is a lot of setup that needs to be done because once the depth of the next case is discovered, things will have to move fast. So while the first half of this book may be a bit slower than usual, there’s a purpose.
**I received an ARC of this book courtesy of the author. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely**
WOW—Nicole Edwards is a master at weaving a suspenseful plot, connecting her other storylines and characters, plus her signature spicy romance, into yet another book that you can’t put down. "Missing Pieces" continues the Brantley Walker: Off the Books Universe. The story picks up after "To Have & To Hold" (OTB #11) and intersects with "Violet" (Walkers of Coyote Ridge Book 12). If you haven’t read these books, I highly recommend catching up, as the storyline is a continuation and this review may contain spoilers.
In "Missing Pieces," we catch up with the OTB Task Force a few weeks after Brantley and Reese’s wedding. The newest members of Coyote Ridge—author Holt, true crime podcaster Simon, and his lead investigator, Archer—join the OTB Task Force to help prove an intricate conspiracy theory. The conspiracy has ties to Max Adorite, the head of the Southern Boys Mafia, and Kylie Walker, the murdered wife of Travis and Gage Walker. As the team dives into the timeline and key players, they realize the more they uncover, the closer to home the conspiracy hits. When they find a jaw-dropping piece of evidence, Brantley has to face Travis Walker with a bombshell that will send the entire Walker Family into a tailspin.
"Missing Pieces" is fast-paced and not only continues the love story of Brantley and Reese but also follows JJ and Baz’s new family, Atticus, Slade, and Carson’s budding throuple, and gives us more backstory about the falling out between siblings Slade and Spencer. This is what I love about Nicole Edwards's storytelling—she brings the reader along the main plot line while always giving glimpses and continuation to the side stories that are such a rich part of her universe. The way she can intersect her storylines and characters is pure genius. "Missing Pieces" serves up almost every character universe Nicole Edwards has created, and it does not disappoint!
Nicole Edwards, PLEASE tell me you will not have as waiting long for the next book in this series, because the ending of Missing Pieces will have you jaw on the ground and realizing that Nicoles’ writing is that perfect mix of brilliance and wicked…I Love It!!
Missing Pieces picks up more so from her book Violet, if you haven’t read Violet (a stand-alone book) yet it would be helpful to get the background on Archer, Simon and Holt as well as, this big conspiracy theory that is turning into an almost unbelievable case to be solved that is hitting way too close to home for many of the characters.
There is of course some catching up with some of the main team members like, JJ and Baz, the crazy throuple of Slade, Atticus and Carson and someone has peaked Archer’s interest, but it may stall out before it can even get started. I must omit with this book some of the interactions just did not keep me as interested as usual. There was a whole small side case that Atticus and Slade were assigned that I felt did not tie into the story of this book, it felt out of place and dragged on too long for me. This was the reason for the four-star rating from me.
The best parts of this book are when the team begins to put the pieces together that Simon and Holt turned over to the team to figure out if there is a true story behind all the various coincidences. This is where Nicole and her writing style really sines as she takes us on a rollercoaster ride with many ups, downs and turns that will obviously continue through many more installments of this series. I am all in and can’t wait for the next book…Please hurry Nicole we are all holding our breaths!!
Let me start off by saying, if this is your first story by this author in this world, (or even your second), There WILL be some spoilers into previous stories in the series. My recommendation? Search for a reading order so you won't be hit by a surprise or two that you may not have been expecting (and yes, I had one or two of those hit me broadside but I knew there would be so not angry about it lol). This story contains multiple POV's in the timeline that takes place after a wedding and as the team (part of Sniper 1) starts to ramp up with hiring and working cold cases. There are drop ins from characters in this universe you know if you have read previous books (in this series AND other series) and there is quite a lot going on while feeling like not a whole lot going on if that makes any sense. A famous podcaster comes into play in this story with a wild conspiracy (or maybe not a conspiracy) that pulls the team together to try to solve it. There is a heck of a mic drop at the end of this story that will leave you both reeling and itching for the next story. New relationships are formed while others fall to the wayside and the fun begins for the new parents who finally name their children....well, I'm not telling. You will have to read it to know but I absolutely loved the chosen names. (Gotta say, it is HARD to write this review without dropping any spoilers but I think I got it done.) Loved this story and absolutely am excited for the next.
Missing Pieces starts more after the book Violet, so if you haven’t read that book Archer, Simon and Holt may be unfamiliar characters to you. The big conspiracy theory that they are turning into an almost unbelievable case to be solved is also started in that book and in this we see that it is starting to hit way too close to home for so many people.
One of the things I love about this series is that the stories always contains multiple POV's in the timeline. This lets us keep up with all the team members and their relationships as well as their thoughts and feelings on the current case(s). This is shown as they get roped into a case that they wouldn’t usually handle and then start to focus on the case brought to them by Holt & Simon. At the same time they are trying to expand the team to take on more cases and the newest recruit Archer brings new ideas and unknowingly new tensions to the team. I can’t wait to see how he fits in more with everyone and if the relationship he is pursuing will work out. As the team digs more and more into the conspiracy theory of Holt’s we see appearances by some members of the Sniper 1 staff and find out some things from the past that have been hidden for a long time. The final chapters will have you on the edge of your seat and the ending will leave you screaming OMG and wanting to know when the next book is being released. Amazing writing as always and I am oh so impatiently waiting for the next book!!
WOW! WOW! Just Wow! Missing Pieces kept me on the edge of my seat! Nicole Edwards is a master at keeping her readers’ interests and preventing them from putting her books down once they begin them! What an amazing ride Missing Pieces is! I am telling you this series just keeps getting better and better with each book! The building of the suspense and mystery with each additional book keeps me coming back for more and more.
In Missing Pieces, Brantley and Reese are newlyweds, JJ and Baz are awaiting the arrival of the twins, and now we are getting introduced to Simon, a true crime podcaster, and Archer, who is an investigator with Simon’s podcast, but has been offered a job with the Off the Books Task Force, which leads to the team becoming involved in the conspiracy involving Kylie’s mom and Max Adorite, which Holt came across while researching for his new book! OMG Friends…this is where our story takes off and doesn’t let the reader go, but the ending of this one definitely left us fending for ourselves! We, readers, need the next installment of this series ASAP!! Big reveals are coming for sure!!
Friends, if you want to be sitting on the edge of your seat, taken in by a total mystery, and fall in love with some of the best characters ever written then you need to read Missing Pieces, better yet, start from the beginning of the Off the Books Task Force series! You will not be disappointed. This is an amazing series! Nicole Edwards never disappoints her readers!
HOLY BOMBSHELL!!!!!!!!! Beware of the cliffhanger........
First of all... Nicole... HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?!
Now that I've said that... I don't think I can stress enough how much I love this series. The mystery, the spice, the angst, and the fun. I love it so much. These characters have me in a chokehold. This book picks up right where book 11 stopped. I would highly suggest reading books 1-11 before you pick this one up. Even though Nicole does a fabulous job of giving a little backstory, you'll still want to full picture before you go into this book.
Brantley and Reese are trying to live their best newlywed life. JJ and Baz are on the cusp of parenthood. Atticus, Slade, and Carson are trying to figure out where they stand and how their situationship is going to work (while trying to overcome their own personal hurdles). We meet a new character and his potential love interest (and let me tell you the pining and angst with this character... chef's kiss).
All of this while statues (yes you read that right), and trying to uncover a missing person/conspiracy theroy?! It makes for one heck of a ride!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Absolutely thrilling! This latest installment is a rollercoaster of emotions, relationships, and jaw-dropping discoveries. The characters are evolving in powerful ways—some are stepping into new chapters of their lives, while others are caught in intense personal drama that keeps you hooked from page one.
A new recruit, Archer Halligan, brings fresh energy and tension to the team, especially with his sights set on someone who's not making it easy for him. Their dynamic adds a delicious layer of chase and mystery.
But the real twist? A deep-dive investigation into a conspiracy theory leads to a revelation so wild, it’ll leave you breathless. The pacing is perfect, the stakes are high, and the chemistry between characters is electric. You won’t want to put this one down!
Absolutely—kudos to Ms. Edwards for delivering such a gripping and emotionally rich story! The character development, the tension, the surprises… it’s all masterfully done. This installment proves once again why this series is so addictive and Ms. Edwards knows exactly how to keep readers invested and craving more.
I received an advance copy from Bookfunnel for my honest opinion.
(4.5 rounded to 5 stars when necessary) I am voluntarily writing this honest review after reading a free ARC of this novel via the author. MISSING PIECES, by Nicole Edwards, is the twelfth installment in the BRANTLEY WALKER: OFF THE BOOKS series. This is the first book since Brantley and Reese’s wedding and it was on fire. A variety of players from several of the author’s more recent releases came together to begin looking into theories regarding the disappearance of Kylie Walker’s mother. There was further progression in romantic relationships between members of the team and the community, and a new team member was welcomed to the Task Force. The secrets and mysteries were coming fast and furious and the book ended on the most shocking revelation of all. This is an open door, third person, multiple POV, contemporary romantic suspense novel including multiple romantic relationships including MF, MM, MMM, and MFM. The book is part of an ongoing serial format following the work of the Off The Books Task Force as well as the romantic relationships involving members of the team. I have really enjoyed this series from the very first book, and this volume is among my favorite. I hope that Nicole releases the next book soon because the cliffhanger at the end of this one was a doozy. I do not recommend reading this book prior to the earlier books in the series as each book builds on the last, but if you are a fan of LGBTQIA+ romantic suspense novels I definitely recommend reading this series. Readers who have read the series, should add book 12 to their TBR today!
Missing Pieces is a notable addition to Nicole Edwards's Brantley Walker: Off the Books series. Each book pulls you in from page one and this book was no exception. This book skillfully combines elements of both romantic suspense and character-driven storylines that have become the staple of the series.
The story quickly captures your attention, as newlyweds Brantley and Reese immediately become involved in a complex new case. The mystery continues to unfold with numerous plot developments as the story continues while sustaining suspense and engagement through to the conclusion.
A notable strength of this book is its character development. The introduction of Atticus James and Slade Elliott adds a compelling dynamic, and the established characters continue to demonstrate growth throughout the series. The narrative maintains a brisk pace, while both the romantic elements and emotional relationships are portrayed with depth and authenticity.
Highly recommended for fans of this series and fans of Nicole Edwards and honestly anyone who enjoys a captivating romantic suspense with unforgettable characters. I can't wait for the next one!
Where to start? Nicole Edwards just does it right. When you have romance, messed up relationships, a mystery of the missing mascot, the long awaited birth, and then the most serious missing pieces to a tragedy that broke all our hearts, all in one book, how could it be so perfect ? and yet it is. Brantley and Reese continue their perfect marriage and running a business that continues to grow as more people are brought in. The biggest problem is the relationships that pop up. So many characters to keep straight yet not a problem. The book flows so perfectly, with surprises and steam that keep you reading. Old friends are brought back, Yea Walkers. Love those guys. They help solve one problem, and the continuing research of a major issue might just bring everyone to their knees. I turned the last page and literally let out a scream. WHAT?? No way it end like that? The book is brilliant, loveable characters, a story that keeps you glued to the pages, and an ending that blows your emotions all over.
This is an amazing series, it does need to be read in order due to ongoing plotlines and scenes that refer back to previous cases, so if you haven't read previous books then you need to do that first, otherwise this book will make no sense. This book is called missing pieces but it contains so many jumbled pieces, so many sections of the bigger picture that we get part of, before it moves to another piece, another part of the overall image. We end up with a partial picture with many, many missing pieces, numerous mini cliff hangers and uncompleted plotlines, some new characters as the new investigators join the task force but we finish with THE BIGGEST CLIFF HANGER EVER! It changes everything.... All their lives.... All the heartbreak....
But the biggest question is why? Then who?
Please, please tell me we don't have a long wait for the next book? I know all these plotlines will be tied up in the next book but this is the biggest cliffhanger of the series so far and has so many implications....
Missing Pieces, beginning to end. A map needs to be laid out. But is the journey what one is searching for?
OMG, let’s leave it at that. Words cannot express what has been read. Missing Pieces has been in the works for a while from my understanding. If you have been reading the OTB series plus the Walkers, you will have an understanding to my reference. It appears it has all been leading to this. Confusing maybe. DEFINITELY won’t spoil as this is a must read.
Ever done a puzzle and you are missing 1 piece? You find it and it all comes together? This is what is happening here. Definitely a cliffhanger but for whom? Won’t drop names as there are still so many questions to solve. Who, when and most importantly “why”? There was a lot more here within the read.
Relationships are a struggle for some. Smooth for others. More M/M, M/M/M in question.
*Breathtaking *Explosive *Questionable *Emotional Rollercoaster *Quirky case involving a Mustang 😂🧐🧐 *Most importantly - Stay tunes
Nicole Edwards has done it again! The Brantley Walker books are always such a ride, and I love following all the team members at once in their lives and cases. Brantley and Reese are always a pleasure to read, and I’m really enjoying the Slade/Atticus developments as they try to navigate their situation with Carson. We do meet some new characters in this installment and I hope to learn more about them in the next. The feeling of something big coming kept building more and more as I kept reading, and that cliffhanger has me practically salivating for the first pages of book 13. These books should be read in order so if you haven’t read the previous novels, go back and start with the first - seriously, Brantley and Reese are *chef’s kiss*.. you won’t regret it!
Nicole Edwards, I am going to be thinking about this cliffhanger and the possibilities often until we get answers. Please tell us the wait for the next will be short!! This series keeps getting better and better with each release.
What an absolute masterpiece of a book this is, the latest book from the Off the Books task force certainly did not disappoint; just left us wanting more. Some of the old characters from previous books we get more back story, more build and awesome character development. Some of the new characters bring a fresh prospective with fresh drama. This book brings us a case that was introduced in the book Violet and in Missing Pieces were are given more clues. This is a case that is hitting very close to home for a lot of these characters, and with Nicole's masterful writing truly takes the reader on a roller coaster ride. All the highs and all the lows will certainly keep you invested in trying to solve the case, a case as it keeps unfolding will certainly keep you the reader engaged and intrigued. As I read the last sentence in this book and I already anxiously awaiting the next installment because this was just jaw dropping. I would highly recommend this book and all the other books in this series as they will never disappoint.
Missing Pieces is the twelfth book in the Brantley Walker: Off the Books series by Nicole Edwards. Nicole knows just the right way to suck you into a series and keep you engaged. I can't think of another series where I just can't wait to get my hands on it. Every book gives you more and more of what you want! Brantley and Reese are married. JJ's about to have her twins. Atticus, Slade and Carson are trying to figure out what they are doing. There's a few newcomers in this book. Some from other series', but it's not necessary to have read them. Archer and Simon and Holt bring a new case to Brantley's team. It's personal and it's not going to be easy. But if there's a thread of truth they have to follow the leads. Start the timeline, see where all the missing pieces fit. And they are determined to figure out what's going on. What happened and what's about to happen. Oh my Lord! I was not prepared for that. At. All. I'm always hopeful, but never know what's going to happen! I hope Nicole is writing as fast as she can so we can see what happens next!!!
Oh my goodness!!! What did I just finish reading??? The ending!!! UGH!!!
Ok, so about the book! When the SECRETS start coming out on a new case Brantley and Reese are looking to take on, life just explodes for about everybody. I still can't believe some of them and I hate to sound like I'm pressuring the author for the next book. BUT...is it done yet? I need the answers to your bombshell!!!
JJ and Baz are in the hospital with JJ on bed rest. Don't take her out of knowing and helping with the project. She is such an integral part of the crew that they can't imagine not asking for her opinion. She wouldn't let them do it without her anyways.
Love the interaction between the team, the steam that Brantley and Reese have towards each other, the trying of the the throuple with Atticus, Slade and Carson (will they ever get what each other needs?) just made me not want to put my kindle down at all.
Whew! Ms. Edwards knows how to write a fantastic story that will have you completely engaged from the beginning to the end. There is a lot to unpack when it comes to Missing Pieces and since it is the twelfth book in the Brantley Walker: Off the Books series I highly recommend that you read the previous books before diving into this one. This book has many characters with Brantley and Reese being at the forefront, but what keeps this series interesting is the one common thread that runs throughout in the form of a mystery to solve that impacts many of the characters we love. We are also introduced to new characters, developing relationships, new babies and a whole lot of teamwork. But know that the story that threads through is not over and the end is a surprise that you won’t see coming but will leave you wanting more because, yes there is more to this story and you don’t want to miss it!
*4 stars* Every single story that you read in this series just takes you to a place that makes you laugh out loud but also have emotional moments that make you want to read chapter by chapter to hopefully unravel what is going on and what's next for Brantley and his team. I still love the connection to other series that the author has written but I love the chemistry between the characters the most. I figured some things out and we get a major ending that will blow your socks off.
Brantley's now newly married and looking for some more members for his team. He finds what he is looking for but without one of his key members Jessica (J.J.), it's a bit harder to move everything around. Everyone is doing the best they can. While everyone is trying to figure out the clues of a mystery surrounding Kylie's mother, the new members find their place within the team. Will they unravel the mystery?...
Book 12 in the series, Off The Books.. Brantley and Reece are still hiring agents for the task force and Archer and Simon are two people on their wish list. (Oh I'm loving Archer) Simon is a podcaster. Holt has stumbled across some information about a previous case but can Brantley help Holt and Simon by investigating it further or will the guilt and family ties win over?. JJ and Baz have a long wait for the twins birth, which is driving JJ mad. They arrive safely much to everyone's relief. Carson, Atticus and Slade are still trying to sort out what their relationship means to each of them, I'm looking forward to see how this develops! Oh did I mention how hot Archer is? Well don't just take my word for it, read the book. I just love how this series keeps giving. Intrigue, mystery, connections, new characters and some hot loving. Yes Nicole, you did it again.
Missing Pieces is the 12th installment of the Brantley Walker: Off the Books series and it has to be read in order to make any sense of all the side plots and relationships going on. That said, I also highly recommend reading Violet first as well, because that is were we first met Archer and Simon, whose investigation plays a major role in this book. The 'case' the team are solving is more of a cutesy mystery than heart-pounding suspense and while there's a touch of humour, some new relationship drama and plenty of sexy times, the goings-on didn't hold my attention quite as well as previous installments have. The big reveal before the cliffhanger ending is certainly a shocker and makes me hope that the next installment won't be long in coming! I received an early copy and am leaving this review voluntarily and honestly.
There are no words to adequately describe how much I love this series; how much I love this author...how invested I am in this story. This story leaves off where 11 left. You get more Brantley and Reese, more Baz and JJ, more Evan and Becs, and more Slade, Atticus, and Carson (whew)!!!!!! You even get new task members. The kicker here is that the storyline gets more complex as the Off The Books Taskforce dives into the current and most pressing case. And this books gives you an ending that will completely obliterate you...in the best way possible. The build for this crescendo is like riding the biggest roller coaster in the world and freefalling into the abyss without knowing what to expect. The frenetic pace, the endorphins....this book gives all that to you and you don't even need to leave your house. What a damn ride that was.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.
There is so much going on in this book, I'm not even sure where to start this review. I was really happy to be back in the Brantley Walker: Off the Books Series. I have loved every book I have read in this series and Missing Pieces is no exception. I loved seeing that Brantley and Reese are incredibly happy. These two have really been through a lot to get to this point. The members of the task force are in better shape than the last book I read and thing seems to be falling into place for everyone. I feel like this book is really good, but one that might be leading up to something that is going to blow all of our butts out of the water. I really loved reading this book. This series just keeps getting better and better. You do not want to miss this book.
Hard to believe this is book #12 in the series. Highly recommend reading them all so you really get to know the characters. Brantley and Reese are finally married, but have no time for a romantic honeymoon yet.. JJ is on bedrest at the hospital with Baz waiting for the arrival of their twins. Atticus, Slade and Carson are finally finding their "groove" and it's about time. Simon who does an amazing podcast of cold cases arrives for an interview to join the Task Force along with Archer who is his chief investigator. Archer finds a very interesting new love interest, Spencer!!! In true Nicole Edwards fashion, there are twists and turns, a mystery to be solved, lots of pages that will have you turning like crazy, laughs, love and OMG a very crazy ending!!!!!!!! Yes we need more!!!!!
Are we up to book 12 already? So much still going on, I love it! Brantley and Reese have gotten married, and seem to be as strong as ever. Still hot (wink, wink) JJ and Baz, finally bring new life into the world. I love how JJ seems to get into the meetings lol. I’m curious where Atticus’s story is going to go. I love his threesome, but also want the drama of the ex-wife/brother to come out for Slade. Slade, however, I don’t love his jealousy. Makes him look weak. But seriously, let’s bring that ex wife down! BTW Spencer and Archer are hot! New members joining the team are exciting (although sometimes keep tough to keep straight) - I need a spreadsheet- just means the saga is going to go on! Such a soap opera, (in a good way). Oh, the bombshell at the end. Can’t wait for the next one! Big-time cliffy.
Omggggg, wow…how? I mean it’s the 12th book how do you keep doing this?!!! I was screaming when a realized that was the last page. This series it the absolute best I’ve read in a very very long time, it literally has me in a chokehold how intensely invested I am into these characters and the cases. Coyote Ridge should be a real place on that map due to all the life that this series has breathed into this town.
Omg… the secrets…what’s true….what’s lies! Then bam out of nowhere what you thought you knew wasn’t even close to being the real resolution. Can you say mind blown! All I can say is the OTB task force better beware because seems they are going to have their hands full. I hope they are ready for just about anything.Nicole Edwards has left me speechless and yelling at my kindle AGAIN!!! Uhmm is the next book done yet?!
*I received an ARC and I am leaving an honest review*
