Roxy Vale is done with bad boys. Done with broken promises. Trusting herself is why she’s still standing.
So when her tire blows out in the desert and a grumpy biker with zero patience stops to help, she knows better than to assume she’ll walk away unscathed.
Cactus is everything she swore off. Rude. Suspicious. Getting involved is how things go wrong.
She says she’s temporary. He treats her like a liability anyway.
Cactus doesn’t save people. He doesn’t get attached—but he notices everything about her.
Roxy has never been anyone’s priority.
Some sparks burn bright. Others burn you alive without warning.
In a town like Tombstone, falling for the wrong man could cost her everything
Cactus’s Prick is book one of the Saint’s Outlaw MC: Tombstone AZ #1 by J. Wine and it focuses on the character Cactus and Roxy. Roxy is a no-nonsense woman who is tired of putting up with bad boys treating her like rubbish, she is no nonsense and full of attitude. But starting over has never been so difficult when she ends up in Tombstone and under the watchful eye of the Saints Outlaw and Cactus, a very prickly, arrogant man who sets his sights on Roxy, albeit reluctantly.
From there we have a push and pull kind of relationship with a lot of misunderstandings and attitude on both characters parts. Throw into it a little bit of steam and close proximity and you’ve got a good MC read.
Both characters have their own emotional issues which we see throughout the whole book, and it only seems to be when Roxy is put in danger that Cactus starts thinking properly about who she is and protecting her (especially from her douche ex).
Overall, a good start to a new series, if you like your MMC rough around the edges and your FMC sassy and strong, then this is going to be the book for you!
ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊
Thank you to NetGalley and J Wine cooperation for the opportunity to read this arc. I have read a few motorcycle club books and I do really enjoy this genre, but I sometimes feel that they make the MMC too much like a Hollywood film star. This book was a lot more grittier and I liked the fact that the MMC was in his 40’s. There is an age gap between Roxy and Cactus and they both come with their own emotional issues. Roxy is running away from her ex and the biker gang he is a prospect for and she stumbles into Tombstone and another biker gang. 4⭐️
