Eighteen years ago, the Lull Lane dollmaker made ten families porcelain dolls as gifts to welcome their children into the world, but what these families didn't know was that souls of the lullabies were poured into each one as they were created. Now the dollmaker is coming to collect, one by one. This is Caspian's story. He has it all, looks, wealth and intelligence. But he has a dark side which only comes out in his dreams, but what happens when the terror is no longer a dream, but reality.. Gore, possession and delicious vengeance. The doll maker sure knows how to make the weasel go pop!
Nightmare On Lull Lane: Book 7: Pop Goes The Weasel, Pop Goes Your Head 👏🏼
Oh this one was the one I was most excited for! I pre-ordered it before I knew I was even getting an arc. Erica has my heart, not only as an author but as an amazing friend & to see the dedication to me had me crying like a baby 🥺
I knew I was going to love this one the most and of course I did!! Her writing style just gets me every single time!!
Told from Caspian’s perspective, his doll, Bess, connected with him from an early age. She became his bestfriend & gave him a taste for 🩸but his mother wasn’t happy that her son had a doll, no son of hers would be seen with a doll! She took her away & Caspian soon forgot all about Bess.
That is until his 13th birthday! Bess is back and nothing is going to get in the way of them this time, she’s ready to show him the past & change the future 🫣😳🤯
Wow wow wow, I will say it again…Erica is the best 👏🏼 I didn’t want this to end! Absolutely loved it!! The gore, the sex, the ruthless killings & the ending, oh the ending…just perfection!
Thank you so much for the arc, i appreciate you always! This series is just unreal!! Out now but makesure you check those triggers!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Also a little side note. Erica has merch for pop goes the weasel & her other amazing books over on her TikTok shop/ vinted so defo go take a look & get your signed editions directly from her 👏🏼 I can’t wait for my new pyjamas 🤎
Pop goes the weasel, pop goes your head, is book 7 of the Lull Lane novella by Erica Hart.
This is Caspian’s story.
On the surface, he’s got everything — wealth, looks, intelligence, and on the surface he seems like the kind of man who seemed untouchable.
But beneath that polished exterior lurked something fractured. His nightmares are getting darker, sharper… and when they start bleeding, blending into reality, he realizes the terror has always been waiting for him.
Erica Hart didnt waste a second to ease you in. This novella kicked off at full throttle and never let up.
The pacing was ruthless, and every chapter was like a punch to the gut. Every scene built had that creeping sense of dread that only intensified as the story unraveled.
There’s definitely no filler here, just pure, unfiltered horror from the first page through to the last, and you’ll find yourself holding your breath without even realizing it.
And Caspian? What a fascinating mess of a character. You can feel him unraveling.
Erica somehow us feel for him while also wanting to see him suffer, which is such a rare balance to pull off in horror.
His descent felt personal, almost like you’re watching someone peel back their own skin to see what’s crawling underneath.
oh and Bess, our creepy doll?
She makes Chucky look tame. Forget the wisecracking doll. The chaos Bess unleashes is on a whole other level: death, destruction, and pure mayhem.
And that innocent children’s song, Pop Goes the Weasel?
I’ll never hear it the same way again. Throughout the book, it became a chilling omen, a twisted premonition that another kill was coming — and honestly, I couldn’t wait to see what happened next.
If you love stories about cursed creations, possession, and vengeance served with a wicked smile, you’re going to want this one on your shelf.
Erica Hart proves once again that she’s not afraid to dig into the dark and make it beautiful.
well well well... we are BACK baby! i am obsessed. this book is next level. i think this one is ANOTHER 5 stars!! i don't even know where to begin on this! it is i think one of the most well written books so far in this series! & the amount of PLOT! i am obsessed.
to me this one lives up too HORROR. it lives up too the horrific nature! it is written in such a way that the plot is the for front but yet somehow it feels thrilling all at the same? like it feels so like on edge the whole time! i absolutely LOVED it though! thrilling, horrific,it truly was a joy to read!
i have 0 complaints & i love every single thing about this book!
ratings?!
characters?? 5⭐️ this book follows caspian and bess, who's parents are taylor and braiden. but i do think this is caspian's story more than it is there's. it's hard to explain but these characters have me HOOKED,caspian is i think the most ruthless! and the WEASEL? i'm not spoiling anything but DAMN! it's SO GOOD! the characters, especially bess were a joy to read! and caspian was written so beautifully, his character development is perfect. i loved the whole villain arc thing. and bess, she is a wicked little bitch! i loved her! we also get to see briar in this one as well! the crazy girl that she is😂 even the side characters have me all the way intrigued!
plot?? 5⭐️ this is the most plot heavy book in the series,up until this point & i am obsessed with it. the plot is written so beautifully and i dare say this book really clarifies so much and gives such a huge amount of like "OHHHH" kind of thing! it is paced so beautifully to,i dare the pace is quite literally PERFECT! and to say i was hesitant about this book,i'm SO GLAD i carried on reading!!
spice + gore?? 🌶️🌶️ + 🩸🩸🩸 she is spicy in the conventional sense, think like cheating partners, virgin MMC but then it's the GORE that gets you! it's the gore that really smacks you in the face tbh🥹 from eyeballs, too burning alive,to literally going POP it is the goriest i think of the storyline thus far but i actually loved that,it had so many moments that makes you go EW🤮 and spice filled gore fest what can i say🥹
overall?? 5⭐️ literally ZERO complaints and another 5 star story from me! i LOVED it so much!🥹 it's such a great story and i would read this in novel length, and i never say that! i'm a novella lover through and through! written in a style i love! erotic horror, novella, morbid and macabre characters, graphic gore.. it literally couldn't get any better for me to be honest.
All right, the gore was good and imaginative, which I can appreciate. But I didn't connect with Caspian and Bess unlike some of the characters and their dolls unfortunately but that doesn't mean the book was not okay to read. It's just my personal opinion.
Book Review: Pop Goes the Weasel, Pop Goes Your Head
Pop Goes the Weasel, Pop Goes Your Head wastes no time proving it’s a different beast from the rest of the series—and somehow also the most unhinged. This installment centers on Caspian, a child we meet in his early years, which immediately sets it apart. Instead of dropping us straight into carnage, the story slowly eases us into his world, making the descent into violence feel disturbingly intimate. That slow burn only makes the eventual chaos hit harder.
The doll, Bess, is once again a nightmare fuel centerpiece, and the book constantly toys with the question: is the doll maker pulling the strings, or is the doll itself running the show? That ambiguity adds an extra layer of dread, especially as the body count escalates in increasingly diabolical ways. From the genuinely horrifying image of a baby being thrown into a washing machine (literally criminal) to someone dancing the Macarena on top of a hot tub while a person dies beneath them, the author somehow keeps topping their own insanity. Just when you think the terrors have peaked, the story casually burns an entire bus full of kids alive—because apparently, restraint is not on the menu.
This is easily the most brutal and gruesome book in the series so far, so checking trigger warnings is not optional. Lines like “Hear the gargle, feel the drip, gushing from your temple. No remorse and no regret, pop goes the weasel!” perfectly capture the gleefully cruel tone of the story. My jaw genuinely dropped more than once, and every time I thought the book had gone as far as it could, it somehow found a new way to shock me.
Final verdict: this is the most savage entry in the series yet—and since that’s exactly my alley, I loved every horrifying second of it. If you’re looking for subtlety, look elsewhere. If you want pure, escalating, nightmare-fueled brutality, this one delivers.
Pop Goes the Weasel was glorious. Absolutely, unapologetically glorious.
It’s gory, creative, menacing, and executed with cruel precision. This installment doesn’t just unsettle you, it toys with you, winding the tension tighter and tighter until reality starts to blur at the edges. Every scene feels like it’s grinning at you from the dark, daring you to look away.
And once again, the parents. Vile. Rotten. The kind of people you don’t just dislike, you actively despise. Watching them spiral, unable to tell dreams from waking horror? Delicious. Sitting there thinking, oh he’s about to lose his mind because he just offed someone, only to realize nope, just a dream, my guy. Or is it? That psychological mind games was chef’s kiss perfection.
This book thrives in that space between nightmare and reality, where guilt festers and fear becomes a living, breathing thing. It adds another razor-sharp layer to the series, building suspense so beautifully it almost hurts.
I am so ready to finish this series. The tension is immaculate, the buildup relentless, and everything is clearly marching toward the moment Savannah finally gets her revenge.
If the payoff is even half as perfect as the journey so far, it’s going to be devastating in the best possible way. This series doesn’t miss. Not once.

4.25⭐️ Let’s start with the things I loved about this book! I’m really enjoying all the twists the author's adds to their stories to make them stand out, even though they all follow a similar revenge-driven plot.
This one introduces the first male protagonist, and I really liked seeing that difference since the previous books have all focused on daughters. It was also fascinating how the author portrayed the father. At first, it felt like he hadn’t changed at all and, just like the others, deserved what was coming to him — but once again, by the end, the author spun the story in such an incredible way that I actually felt a little sorry for him.
That said, there were a few times I found myself confused by the storyline, and I struggled to connect with Caspier. He almost felt like he had two different personalities.
I’m also not sure how I felt about the doll going on a killing spree that didn’t really tie into Savannah’s revenge.
Overall, though, it was an incredible read with a fresh twist that I really enjoyed!
Holy scary weasels and dolls y'all!! Dude I hope y'all are ready for this one. Seriously this 1 gets fricken gory and fast but I was here for it. I loved that we Got a MMC Caspian i loved him and his dark side because ya know us book girlies can fix them all right hahaha... Also what I loved about this book was that Briar from See How They Run was in this i loved her and Caspian's interactions it showed her in a different light from her book and it was kinda cool but y'all back to Caspian he and Bess his Dolly lord have mercy and the weasel completely unhinged, gory, twisted, bloody, Amazing, heavy on the triggers and also it showed that these kids do have a conscience as well to what they are doing especially with a major scene in this story that may be very triggering to some so y'all please please check your triggers before you jump into this story
Caspian, was brought up in a well to do household, with a nanny and staff but lacked any love from his parents. He finds a doll that was delivered and quickly becomes attached to her and his nightmares take on a new depth 🩸
oh my goodness. Wow! Bessy is Caspians doll that sings the lullaby "Pop Goes the Weasel". Bess doesn't just get her revenge on Taylor and Brayden, no Bess is tired of doing everything Savannah says and wants to have fun! so Bess goes on a killing spree. which got me emotional because I drive a school bus. 😭😭 Savannah didn't like it and punished Bess
From page one we got the nitty gritty of what this was. A revenge horror story and I may have to say that this is my favorite and itll be hard to top it. This is heavy and TW/CW NEED to be checked please please please do so as your mental health matters and even though the dollmaker wants revenge I doubt it is with you!
I love the concept of this series - justified revenge is a fabulous topic and always satisfies! The character of Caspian was fantastically written - his decent into the weasel and, eventual, acceptance was seamless. The father's murder was absolutely delicious 🤌 I'm hoping to read more from this series ❤️🔥

Caspian has had a privileged life, except for loving parents. He's always been a little off, having nightmares that seem so real where people get hurt. As he grows older, Bess, the porcelain doll is his only true friend. Soon his nightmares become more frequent and the weasel comes out to play.
A teenage boy, hormones and sex, drug fueled parents. I mean what's not to love. Plus losing your mind priceless. Briar also makes an appearance and it is glorious.
Check the trigger warnings. This is book 7 in the series. Bess the doll was amazing. I wasn't expecting the twists. Caspian the mmc was well written. I loved this book.
Caspian!!! you rock you little evil s**t! this book was so freaking good! by far the most inventive way of killing people. this one rocked in that regard. sick and demented doesn't even begin to cover what took place in this novella. but dayum! this was so freaking dark! I LOVED IT!!!
I devour everything Erica writes, and this was no different.
This is book 7 in the Nightmare on Lull Lane series, and admittedly, the first one I read from this series.
We follow Caspian, a wealthy kid, with absent parents, both too occupied with their own lives. Thankfully, there's Bess, his doll, which he got separated from at a young age, but the moment she's back in his life, things change. Dreams and reality begin to blur.
I enjoyed Caspian's descent into horror and gore, with little Bess by his side, a creepy doll with an even creepier smile—a match made in heaven.
🖤 𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀🖤 This is the seventh book in the Nightmare On Lull Lane series but this time, things get even more darker as we take a look inside the life of one of the children of the teens responsible for what happened to Savannah. Caspian is a misunderstood boy who we get to know growing up alongside his doll, Bess. The hardships and the mindfxcks in this story is riveting and absolutely bonkers. Sure, there's some minor editing problems but it does not take away from the overall storyline.
*𝓼𝓹𝓸𝓲𝓵𝓮𝓻𝓼*
As a child, Caspian grew up in a wealthy home but always felt ignored alone. He had the love from his nanny but even that wasn't enough. Until his father surprised him with Bess, a doll he had found in the attic. A doll who unknowingly made him take the life of a man. But once his mother found him in bed with the doll, she discarded it, making the remark that she would have no gay son.
Years later, his parents are spiraling downwards when it's discovered that his father has been having relations with the nanny that Caspian loved and she has become pregnant. His father decides it's best for both of them if he leave with her, disregarding his own child they shared. But Bess has other plans because they both participated in the dreadful incident back in high school and she wants to make them pay. Make them pay by using their child as a pawn, while he insures it's all a dream.
When Caspian’s Eighteenth birthday begins to approach, Bess knows the Dollmaker’s plans have begun and persuades to have him wear a weasel mask in order to hide the atrocious crimes he dreams he's doing. But the more he allows the weasel to take over, the less of Caspian he becomes to the point where he can not distinguish between reality and dreams in this morbid tale centered around Pop Goes The Weasel.
This is a first-time read for myself from Hart and I absolutely loved the decent into madness the main was corrupted into by the weasel, as well as the level of gore. Not as much spice, but there really wasn't all that much time in the psychological plot. Looking forward to reading another title by the author.
POP GOES THE WEASEL, POP GOES YOUR HEAD - by ERICA HART. NIGHTMARE ON LULL LANE - BOOK #7
⚠️ MAJOR TRIGGER WARNINGS ⚠️ Make Sure You Check Them Thoroughly!!
MMC/CHILD: Caspian
PARENTS: Taylor & Braiden Forbes
The story kicks off by talking about Caspian’s parents, Taylor and Braiden. From how Caspian describes them, they definitely sound like they’re still stuck in their high school days.
I did enjoy the crossover, even though I wasn’t too happy about who it was with, Briar Hartley from book #4. Yep, the same stuck-up princess who finally got what was coming to her in that story.
One thing that threw me off though was the sexual stuff between Briar and Caspian when they’re only 13, and then again around 15/16. Just a heads up, it’s between kids, and there’s no protection mentioned.
Some parts confused me too… like why Bess had him killing people who had nothing to do with Savannah and Trigg’s brutal assault. That question got partially answered later on, and I was happy Savannah didn’t let Bess walk away unscathed from what she was doing.
Honestly, it felt like the revenge part in this book didn’t really connect to Savannah and Trigg at all. The random, brutal killings for no reason threw me off. So is Caspian just like his dad, minus the rape? Some of his thoughts made it seem that way. It all felt more psychological, especially with that whole “weasel” thing. Is it supposed to be a split personality? It left me with a lot of unanswered questions. I might need to reread because I feel like I missed something.
Not gonna lie, I kinda felt bad for Caspian’s dad this time. The mom? Definitely not. His dad actually seemed to feel some regret, which we didn’t really see in the other stories. His mom’s still the same trash she’s always been.
Overall, this was a good read! Like I said, I might need to go back through it again to fully get everything.
*I RECEIVED AN ARC IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW… MY OPINION IS MY OWN 🖤

⚠️ Trigger Warning: Please check before reading—YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!
Pop Goes The Weasel, Pop Goes Your Head by Erica Hart is the seventh book in the Nightmares on Lull Lane series, and it’s as twisted as it sounds. Hart delivers gore, horror, and terrifyingly gruesome content that fans of the series will devour.
I loved that the story features a male main character. Caspian has been killing since he was young, believing his actions were only horrific nightmares. But he soon realizes they’re all too real. His horrifying visions, especially those of killing his parents and memories of Savannah’s attack, intensify his hatred and drive, adding layers to his dark, twisted psyche.
Caspian’s doll, Bessy, plays an active and chilling role in the events. Bessy doesn’t just get revenge on Taylor and Brayden she grows tired of listening to Savannah, goes on a killing spree, and ultimately faces punishment herself.
A chilling and thrilling addition to the series that will haunt you long after the last page. Absolutely recommend!
Thank you to Erica Hart for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I just finished the book and wow, what a journey . I really liked how the story was focused and how it evolved, starting from the beginning, when the child is little and finds the doll, and how it explores their relationship — how it’s psychologically portrayed between the doll and the child.
I also liked that it involves other families, other children, and other dolls — that’s something I’ve missed in the other books.
It’s macabre, twisted, and sinister — and I absolutely loved that. For me, it’s ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I also really liked the author’s note at the end — Erica, I’d love to read more from you. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this book, as well as the other authors’ works in this series.
💀 Recommendation: This book cannot be read as a standalone. It’s part of the Nightmares on Lull Lane series, and you must read The Dollmaker by Ashlynn first, and then continue in order until the last book — there are 11 in total.
⚠️ Trigger warning: This is not a dark romance. These are very intense books with many triggers, and they’re definitely not for everyone
Like the rest of the books in this series, please READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS! This is horror and gore. NOT dark romance. If you haven’t read the other books in the series, please go do that first. At the very least, you NEED to read The Dollmaker by Ashlynn or you will be very lost.
Erica hart definitely delivered the gruesome content and gore with her addition to the Nightmares On Lull Lane shared World Series. This book didn’t disappoint. I loved every second of the revenge (and the side play times). I felt like it really delivered on the point of the dolls and what their purpose is. If you haven’t read a weak stomach then this book isn’t for you. But if you want to question your mental state while giggling, then have fun with the book.
“There was something seriously gross about edamame beans mixed with thick blood.”
Great addition to the series and I look forward to reading more from Erica Hart.
This one follows our first male child. Caspian is the son of Taylor and Brayden Forbes. Both of these characters were present during what happened with Savannah. This family pretty much hates each other. Caspian was not loved and honestly his parents seemed stuck in the high school mentality.
Now Caspian has had Bess since he was little and with her came violent nightmares that have steadily gotten more gruesome and feeling real. Bess seems to have her own agenda all together and that's just murder, gore, and overall mayhem.
There are quite a few very vivid deaths in this story and each one was definitely unique. Yes, someone's head did get popped like the title suggests.
This one is like a slow descent into madness for Caspian. His character seems so lost and confused most of the time. The weasel however, is happy to do whatever F*ed up things Bess wants.
What a read! Caspian and Bess were a fantastic duo. I could literally feel him unraveling and the codependency he was getting with his doll. I couldn't get enough of the two. Erica's mind with the murders that occurred in this book was fucking FANTASTIC. From the first man when Caspian was 6, up to his parents.
And I LOVED how he pieced things together so quickly and did his own research, which scratched an itch in my brain I didn't know I had. He was smart had a sense of justice -until he let the weasel take over, poor real estate lady- and was very clearly a no bullshit boy. It was fun seeing Briar make an appearance in this book and her relationship with him and how she reacted when she saw the doll. I also enjoyed the mentioning of the other kids that had dolls.
this book just got me hyped all over again for the remaining ones
WARNING: ALL THE TRIGGERS SO READ THEM BEFORE STARTING! Seriously, READ THEM! Now that that's been stated, let's get back to our review, shall we? As book 7 of the NOLL series, this one had one particular scene that was triggering for me, which is a first as I've never actually been triggered before. Caspian had a rough life, but as a child of those who wronged Savannah all those years ago it was already set in motion that he was going to have a role in her revenge. His breaks between reality and the dream realm were interesting, the other kids explained having them too but his seemed so much more realistic! Money really does corrupt people, his parents are prime examples of greed and selfishness. If you've read the other books, pick up this one and come along for the twisted ride! Thank you @ericahart666 for the privilage to be part of your ARC team!
So grateful to have received this ARC along with the other books in the Nightmares on Lull Lane series.
What a wild ride this book took me on from start to finish. I like how the book progresses, starting with Caspian being introduced to the doll at such a young age and showing how their relationship developed overtime.
As always, I will forever remind you to check your trigger warnings. This book along with the others are not dark romances, they are twisted horror and just super dark!
I feel like this was the goriest. of them all so far. The Weasel was definitely off his rocker. And Bess... the bus... y’all she was DELULU for that!
I am eager to see how it ends. This series has been perfect for spooky season this year and I highly recommend checking it out.
Keep in mind, you must read ‘The Dollmaker’. first and ‘Wee, Wee, Wee As You Burn’ last.
Oh man, when they say pop goes the weasel, they ain't joking at all. This one as of now is one of the more detailed one about what happens to everyone. Oh my, so trigger warning please, your mental health on this one is important. But wow, wow, wow, the Weasel and Bess were not joking. I love how Briar was a big part of this book too. It shows you just how much everything is connected. I always wonder why she shows up and then stops talking to people once she see their dolls. It is like something from the dollmaker? I can't wait to see if it does get explained, but this one about Caspian, so the first boy one I read. It was longer but only took me an hour to read. It is more detailed which I loved and hated because man I was making faces when I was reading this book! I can't wait for the rest!
