In 1691 witches plagued Salem. The courts of the United States forged together to expel witches from their country and for the most part they won, eliminating all physically trace of witchcraft in our world. Not all witches were destroyed though.

Adrian Every, the son of a famous witch hunter, has nothing to do with witchcraft or anything necessarily evil until he joins the group called "Ater Sidus"; a vicious underbelly that hosts fights to the death for the entertainment of high rollers.

Although Adrian is a star fighter, he falls into the dangerous depths of the underbelly, raising the attention of not only its Commander Vladik Gramen but also the attention of the Commander’s daughter; the lovely Victoria Gramen.

If he fails to obey every command Vladik and Victoria gives, Adrian will not only put his life but the lives of the people he truly loves in jeopardy. Will this unwanted attention be the death of him or the people he loves?
