Everyone who loves journaling needs this workbook!

I recall journaling since the time I gained consciousness.

Earlier, I used to document my raw thoughts on paper.
Now I am more inclined towards guided journaling after realizing its importance.

Curl Jung-Based Shadow Work Journal and Workbook for Deep Healing has made guided journaling extremely easy for me. Based on Carl Jung's theory, it helps individuals to know their “shadow self,” or the hidden, repressed aspects of their psyche.

It has specific questions for understanding all kinds of feelings, such as guilt, envy, and fear. Sections on ‘walking through triggers’ and the ‘dream analysis’ help peek into the unconscious self.

The best part is that it has theories before each section for better understanding of the purpose of the questions.

For instance, before the body awareness part, it mentions how “the body carries the weight of repressed aspects of the self, manifesting as tension, pain, or discomfort.” This helps put things into perspective.

I believe such thought-provoking exercises could definitely help build emotional resilience and cultivate self-compassion through identifying repressed emotions and acknowledging triggers.

I would definitely be returning to it to better understand my deepest desires, thoughts, and fears at different periods of time.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked up Carl Jung–Based Shadow Work Journal and Workbook for Deep Healing by Adeline Voss. I’ve tried a few journals before, but this one felt different. It made me pause and actually think about parts of myself I usually ignore.

The prompts are simple but not shallow. Some questions made me stop for a long time, others pushed me to write things I didn’t even realize I was holding inside. It doesn’t lecture or force you. It just guides you, gently, step by step. I found myself returning to it again and again, sometimes on hard days, sometimes just to check in with myself.

I liked how the journal mixes Jungian ideas with practical exercises. Even heavy topics like past wounds or recurring patterns are handled with care, leaving space for reflection instead of judgment. The clean, minimalist design helps you focus on your thoughts without distractions.

If you are curious about shadow work, self-awareness, or understanding yourself more deeply, this journal is a great companion. It’s not something you read once and put away. It grows with you, challenges you, and helps you discover things about yourself that stick long after you write them down.

I’ve read a lot of self-help books, and honestly, most of them sound the same - quick tips, generic advice, and nothing that sticks. This book by Adeleine Voss is different as she takes Carl Jung’s powerful idea of “shadow work” and turns it into something practical and approachable.

At first, I wasn’t sure what “shadow work” even meant, but this book makes it simple. The guided prompts and mindful exercises helped me pause and face parts of myself I usually ignore. I can see how valuable that really is. Healing isn’t about instant change; it’s about slowing down, understanding your patterns, and making space for real growth, and this book gives you exactly that. What I admire most about Adeleine Voss is the way she brings Jung’s deep psychology into everyday life. The reflection questions made me dig deeper, and the mindful activities gave me a sense of calm.

If you enjoy journaling, self-reflection, or psychology, this book is a great tool. It offers a mix of emotional healing, trauma recovery, and mindful living through structured prompts. For anyone interested in Jungian ideas, it’s a practical way to bring shadow work into real life. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to heal, reflect, or simply know themselves better - it’s both gentle and powerful.

A great work by Carl Jung. We don't give enough importance to self-healing because we don't know what it is.

First of all, I am very happy that in this journal, after understanding a topic, I am asked to question myself.

Self-healing and shadow work are explained so well that, by the end of the book, you'll wonder, is this really so important? And can this change so much within us?

When I was a child, I used to hear my elders tell me that one must learn to be disciplined. And if you start being disciplined, many problems will automatically go away. But no one told me to first learn to observe and know myself. First, see how you can discover yourself from within.
I didn't know about Shadow until today. I used to accept it as it is. But, here in this journal shadow has been explained so clearly in this journal that I have come to understand that it is not necessary to be negative and tough all the time. We can see it as a strength, and even as creativity, within ourselves.

Shadow Work for Deep Healing is an insightful and reflective read. It is designed as a journal; a workbook for self-exploration.

Carl Jung is renowned psychiatrist. He has introduced concepts like the collective unconscious, archetypes and individuation. In this book, he emphasis the hidden aspects of our personality that we suppress or deny. He insists on confronting and integrating the shadow for personal growth and healing.

The book is an accumulation of short, neat and easy to understand chapters. Each bulletin is separately explained in a crisp manner, trailed by questions for the reader to answer.

I personally feel that the book brings forth a really good moment for an individual to know themselves a little better. Or possibly turn one’s hand to the journey of self healing. I surely am soon revisiting the book pouring out, confronting my suppressed thoughts and emotions. (which are always unheard, categorised as ‘overthinking’)

This specific book is a thoughtful and transformative tool for anyone ready to explore their most inner & hidden world. Inspired by Jungian psychology, it guides you through confronting hidden emotions, patterns, and beliefs with compassion rather than judgment. I am in love with how the prompts are structured, they are not only easy to understand & use but are deep enough to challenge one, making self-reflection less overwhelming. The balance between theory and practical exercises keeps the journaling process engaging and purposeful. It doesn’t just feel like writing down thoughts, but like a genuine path to healing and self-discovery. I have been in search for such engaging journaling process for a while now, an I am glad that I finally found one. So, if you’re interested in shadow work, self-awareness, or breaking cycles, this journal is a wonderful companion on the journey inward. Highly recommended for mindful introspection!

Shadow Work is an insightful and reflective read. It’s a short book designed for self-exploration, where you write and reflect on your thoughts for each question. The concept of the Shadow and Shadow Work is about how we often neglect parts of ourselves that don’t align with society’s expectations, even though they are still a part of us. This book reminds us that we should embrace both our light and dark sides to become whole individuals.

The author explains who Carl Jung is, how he introduced the idea of “shadow work,” and goes into detail about different techniques to identify the shadow. I especially loved the section on projection recognition, it felt so true and the way dreams are shown to be deeply connected with our shadow.
