Parents should take a few moments to visit Lady Jenniviere’s website and read through the discussion questions. She offers questions that you can discuss with your child, even if you haven’t read the book yourself.
“Tales of Spook” by Lady Jenniviere is a monster tale that doesn’t quite end as you would expect. This book is definitely geared to the pre-teen audience. It has just the right touch of “scarey” for older children.

My note: This book is part of a series, but can easily be read as a standalone book. It was absolutely fabulous to see my son be so captivated by a book. My daughter (13) also read the book and throughly enjoyed it as well. I found that the book spurred a great conversation between my son and I about how sometimes the people in lives are not who they seem, he was able to relate portions of the book to his life and his feelings about certain things. My hats off to Lady Jenniviere for writing such a relatable book for kids! Now onto Liam’s review
Tales of Spook by Lady Jenniviere
In Tales of Spook, Noel meets Spook, a 7 foot tall purple monster who lives behind appliances and eats lint and drinks tea. For a monster he seems like a nice guy. But Spook is not who he seems.
The main characters of the book are Noel, Spook, and Noel’s friend Stacey. Noel learns of Spook’s plan to turn him into a monster and when he tries to tell his parents about it, his mom believes him but his dad does not. As the story goes on, Stacey betrays Noel and Noel ends up being turned into a monster. But in the end, Noel gets his revenge on stacey for betraying him and they switch bodies and she is the monster.
I really like that Noel wasn’t afraid of a 7 foot monster, because I am afraid of the dark and it told me there is nothing to be afraid of. In the middle it tells you that you can’t trust everyone. And at the end Noel got his revenge and became human again.

“Tales of Spook” by Lady Jenniviere is a monster tale with a twist. This book is definitely geared to the pre-teen audience but it's well written and will keep the attention of older kids. This book is part of a series, but can easily be read as a standalone book. (In fact, I've been reading them out of order.)

Tales of Spook is the 2nd book in the fun Lady Jenniviere’s Quill series. Just like the previous book, this book will not disappoint you or the young ones :)
Just before his 10th birthday, Noel Hawthorne was chased by a huge purple monster named Spook. Spook wanted to take over Noel’s body. He asked his best friend and neighbor, Stacey Jefferson, to help him escape the monster. The story teaches the young ones that choices have consequences, both good or bad. Children will learn how one person’s actions can affect more than just one life…a beautiful life lesson…
My 12 year old daughter loved the book…the entire series actually has become one of her favorites…The book is fun and very well written, the language is witty and age appropriate, the story is interesting and the characters are little darlings :)
