Returning to Avalyeth in hopes of saving Halvy, Thomas and the crew of Excalibur uncover a secret that could shake the foundations of the Druid order. Hidden beneath the forest canopy, dangerous alliances and forbidden technologies threaten to ignite a conflict that could spread far beyond the trees.

Some truths refuse to stay buried.

While Thomas navigates a maze of suddenly shifting loyalties, Turquine advances a darker agenda that may soon become the greatest threat Avalon has ever faced.

With fragile hope resting on uneasy alliances, Thomas must decide who he’s willing to trust and how far he’s willing to go to build a future worth fighting for.

Because the cost of leadership isn't victory. It's who you become to achieve it.

Best of the series yet!

This book took me, the reader, from a brave and audacious start back to freedom for one world to the extreme loss of dynasty of another world or worlds. Mix in the plans and designs of an empire builder, being smashed and ultimately crushed. Then add in a selfish necromancer plans to control everything just to his own liking and Wow! What a story! I've enjoyed all of the books in this series but this one took me from humanity's noblest efforts, to narrow, but hopeless existence. Then put the real threat up with a ancient character designing life only for himself that he wants no one else to get even hope for a single, good moment.... It lifts you up to man at his best, shows people just surviving and rubs your face in absolute selfish, devastation. Couldn't put it down! I NEED the next book NOW!

More intrigue and scheming.

Our heroes continue to fight the good fight. But losses continue to mount. One world freed of Draconite control is but a start. How will they find Turquine's roost before it's too late?

Fantasy fantastic

Oh boy, the author Forbes sure knows how to spin a yarn. I’m hooked (line and sinker). Can’t wait for the next in the series.
Not going into too much detail - read it for yourself, it just gets better and better.

Great read...

This just keeps getting better and better. The main character trying to find his footing in this new world. How enemies have become Partners? And how everyone is trying to work together to overcome the darkness.

War has no winner just an ending

War is to remove a threat that can no longer be tolerated in a civilized society. Cowards die slowly with many failures and losses while the brave die but once while standing free and protecting freedom.

Magic isn't just for me. Can also be a healing source

Like a fairy tale come true. Magic used to help, heal. A guide to future life and governing. Also violence if desired.
