This was one I happened to pick up as we cleared out my parent's library. June tells of her rather fascinating life (and much of her father's -- a grounded interesting man who immigrated from Sweden around the turn of the century) in a series of short poetry-like vignettes. I'd describe them as spare and to the point -- thoughtful and thought-provoking. I didn't think I wanted to read it -- but after trying a page or two -- found it hard to put down. Fortunately, it's also a quick read -- or I'd still be in Phoenix packing.
