I could not get into this book. I felt like the writing was all over the place and there wasn’t something solid to follow. There was little world building for me and the characters were unrelatable.
Honestly, this was one I almost DNF’d, but I always hate doing that.
I wanted to love the premise of the book, but struggled following some of the story as it felt rushed at parts, and like I was being thrown around and missing other parts. Dani is a believable but naive character
Robbie seemed too good to be true, and up to something. You just so happen to reconnect with your old flame before escape? You go on this crazy adventure, for what?
The ending seemed flat to me, the build up was there, but then what?

I was very intrigued by the premise of this story and felt that the first chapter was compelling enough to make me want to know more. But I felt like the more I read this story the more the writing began to fall apart. The relationships did not have anything compelling holding them together and felt too sudden and the dialogue seemed very transactional and did not flow.
This book, although not my usual genre, turned out to be incredibly engaging. The characters were interesting and complex, which added depth to the story. The concept of a post-apocalyptic world was vividly imagined and skillfully portrayed. I couldn't put the book down and finished it in a single day. It was a true page-turner, and I can definitely envision it on the big screen!
