The Heritage of African-Americans in Long Beach: Over 100 Years

Rate this book
It is the goal of our society to document and preserve the past and present history of African Americans in Long Beach. We want future generations to know their history. The people who are profiled in this and succeeding volumes are those who did not stand back and wait for things to happen. They were dedicated people who believed in making things happen to benefit their communities and determined to make society better for themselves and their descendants. These pioneers, builders, and activists fought for a more just society. They paved the way for us. We stand on their shoulders.
