** Crescent and the Crown delivers a fantasy romance full of emotional stakes, razor-sharp banter, genre - bending uniqueness, and chapters that may not be suitable to read at work. **
She fell into a devil’s kingdom — and learned there’s more than one way to burn in hell.
Fae by blood, but fractured by betrayal, Ivy fled everything. Her court. Her future. Herself. When she falls into a realm ruled by gods and legends, she finds a world where she doesn’t belong — but isn’t without purpose.
Mystery unfolds slowly from the shadows, wrapped in a calm so complete even her scars feel safe. But nothing stays untouched forever. By the time Ivy senses the wrongness in the air, it’s already watching her. Unseen. Undeterred. And closer than she thinks.
An ancient and foreign presence threatens the only peace Ivy has ever known. As shadows whisper and borders blur, something awakens in
A power she doesn’t understand and a bond she never meant to form.
When Luke and Ivy’s paths cross, they’re drawn to each other in a way neither can explain. It’s not quite trust. Not yet love. But what starts with uncertainty becomes a force that deepens with every choice, every wound, every moment they survive together.
And both know exactly how much they have to lose.
Survival taught her to run. Peace taught her what’s worth staying for. And love, inevitable and hard-won, taught her how to fight for more than herself.
What once felt like survival now looks like purpose. And one truth becomes
She’s no longer running from something.
She’s running toward it.
✨For fans of Fourth Wing, Serpent and the Wings of Night, and Crescent City
If you love slow-burn tension that detonates in book one, romantasy where power awakes, and the kind of man who was never meant to fall—but does anyway, good luck putting this book down.
✨Perfect for readers
• A heroine who learns that survival was just the beginning
• Found family that holds when everything else breaks
• A romance that builds through silence, survival, and sharp edges
• Mythology reimagined through a modern lens
• A morally gray protector who will set fire to anything that dares get too close to her
Update: had an interview with the author of this book :) Millie moss is super sweet and shared her plans for her next book to see interview here is the link
Full review @wendysSoulShelf on YT ☺️ Loved this book. From start to finish! Thor had me laughing and annoying at 1230 AM 😂. Loved the romance build up and the way the world building. Definitely a hidden gem
This is such an under-hyped romantasy. The way the author blends all of the mythology and biblical stories together into one realm was refreshing and unique.
The romance build was a slow burn, but felt believed and balanced. 2 🌶️ worth of spice. The humor and relationships between the characters was SUPERB!
Ivy’s character growth was believable and it was so easy to connect with her. Luke’s character and the perspective of who he is was so believable that I instantly connected with him! Their battles together to save Etherra were perfectly written and didn’t feel out of place but just action packed enough. I ABSOLUTELY recommend this book for any and all Romantasy lovers.
Loved this book. Good slow burn, pay off was 🔥 The banter was gold! Ivy and Luke’s journey felt real and raw, built in all the right ways. It has heat, heart, and just enough edge to keep things tense. The world building is straight up blasphemy 😂 I didn’t want it to end.
Love this book! Absolutely love this book. Wonderfully written! Characters are so much fun! Plot is amazing! ❤️❤️❤️ thank you Mille Moss for bringing this masterpiece into this world! ❤️🤗
This was such a refreshing fantasy read — and honestly, the setting alone sold me.
Crescent and the Crown takes place in a realm unlike most fantasies I’ve read. Instead of the usual kingdoms and courts, we’re dropped into a layered world of Heaven, Hell, Valhalla, and the Underworld, each ruled by powerful figures like the Devil himself and the angel Michael. The world-building felt unique, immersive, and surprisingly easy to grasp, which made it incredibly approachable.
At the center of the story is Ivy, who isn’t even from this realm. She quite literally falls into it while escaping her own world — a place where women exist only to be used and abused. Ivy has spent her entire life running, surviving, and shrinking herself to stay alive… until she lands somewhere completely unexpected.
And here’s where this book really hooked me: She finds solace, safety, and love with the Devil — and honestly? I loved that pairing. Luke and Ivy were everything. Their dynamic felt earned, emotional, and oddly comforting in a world that should feel dangerous.
Thor deserves a special mention because he was fucking hysterical and brought much-needed humor and levity to the story.
Watching Ivy step into her power — not just to survive, but to save this realm — was incredibly satisfying. Her journey felt meaningful, and I was fully invested in her growth and purpose.
This book completely surprised me with how easy the read was, how engaging the world-building felt, and how quickly I became attached to the characters. I flew through it and closed the book genuinely excited for what comes next.
✨ Unique setting 🔥 Unexpected but perfect romance 👑 Powerful FMC growth 📖 Can’t wait for book two
This was really a quick and fun read, and I'm sad it’s over! I mean, I know there is going to be another book, but I wasn't ready for this one to end!
Firstly, our heroine don't need no man! Ivy can stand on her own and will fight to protect her new home. But just because she doesn't need a man doesn't mean she can't have one. And lucky her, because he happens to be the super hot king of the mysterious realm she's found herself in.
Luke, though he wants nothing more than to protect Ivy, doesn't get in the way of her badassery. He steps aside and watches her bloom into the goddess she has always been.
The slow burn between the main characters was perfect. The world building was phenomenal. The only problem was that the pages ended too quickly 😂 You could give me 10,000 more words of Ivy and Luke and it wouldn't be enough!
Now, Luke and Thor... Their banter was top-tier! We NEED a prequel of them! Some of their comments to each other had me cackling loud enough to have my husband looking at me like I was crazy.
This story was the exact right blend of action, humor, love, mythology, and character growth. I can't wait for book 2!
I’m not going to talk about how “Crescent and the Crown” blends mythologies like Valhalla, Hell, and the Fae courts, or how much I enjoyed the slow burn and the banter between Luke and Ivy. Yes, the world-building is lush and imaginative.
What stayed with me, though, are the themes.
Millie Moss delivers a strikingly modern take on Hell, moving away from fire toward something far more unsettling: personal responsibility. It turns the idea of eternal punishment into a conversation about personal agency.
The most haunting element of the book is the 'stolen light' of the women in Ivy’s world. It feels less like fantasy and more like allegory. A sharp, timely reflection of real-world struggles for autonomy and voice.. This is a hauntingly accurate parallel to what’s happening in the world today. This isn't just a romantacy, it's a reclamation.
If I had one wish, it would be for a deeper dive into the backstory. There’s so much richness in this world that I would have happily stayed longer.
This book isn’t badly written, the problem is everything happens too fast, the relationships have no foundations and it makes them flimsy and unbelievable. Gods in the underworld would see countless broken souls, we are given no real reason as to why the MC would be any different.
I also found the plot a bit holey- she doesn’t know what electricity is, or what trousers are, yet a few pages later she knows what a barista is and is happily drinking coffee. There is no confusion or settling in to the very new, very different world, acknowledgment that just it was an entirely different universe than she was in before.
Also it cannot be a slow burn if the first time we see them properly interact they are already very much into each other.
Millie wrote an amazing book that made me laugh so much and had me thinking at the same time with the “what ifs”. It was really a refreshing perspective when it comes to the creation of the underworld.
The FMC is fierce and I truly enjoyed watching her grow and she is really relatable. I connected with her and I was so investing in story. I truly adored the supporting characters. Each one just add more chaos and depth to the book that just makes you want a book for each character. (Hint hint Millie). LOL
I truly loved the romance and the yearning of the MC’s but mostly it was the found family. I absolutely enjoyed this book so much.
This book was such a wonderful rid. Slow burn romance, check. Funny, check. Blend of mythology and biblical aspects, check -check. Spicy spice, CHECK. Ivy and Luke’s journey was top notch and I haven’t loved two characters like them since saeris and king Fisher in Quicksilver. I can’t wait for book two and see where this story goes
This is such a perfect fantasy romance that keeps you turning pages and is easily bingable in a day! Loved Ivy and her strength! Luke..🥵🥵🥵 The banter and witness of the other characters is spot on! Can not wait for book 2!
This was such a unique conglomerate of fairy tales, legends and myths. It flowed so smoothly and was so easy to follow. The FMC finds her voice and heals from the trauma of her home world with the help of Luke and her new friends. The story keeps you intrigued the whole time, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
