This is the tale of the first men to climb Mount Gongga (or Minya Konka), a mountain that has claimed quite a few lives, and has been rarely climbed in the succeeding decades. It is an interesting story, with some twists turns and misadventures. The climbers do a good job telling the tale, as well as giving some insight into their journey through China, and their hunting to collect scientific specimens. I'm no climber, but it is interesting to compare their equipment with those of later generations.
Great book about a truly remarkable expedition. I have no idea who Burt B. Konzak is though. The book was written by Richard Burdsall and Arthur Emmons with contributions by Terris Moore and and Jack Young. That is if you go by what's written on the book cover and the title page.
