At the Park: A Mr. and Mrs. Green Adventure

Rate this book
Is it more fun to do flips off the monkey bars, or listen to all the birds singing? To swim laps in the wading pool, or smell all the flowers? Mr. and Mrs. Green can't seem to agree on which activity is the most exciting, but that doesn't stop them from having a great day at the park! When they hear the bells of the ice cream truck, though, they both agree that racing to dessert is the right idea. Simple sentence structure, bright illustrations, and silly, unexpected twists, make this installment in the Mr. and Mrs. Green early reader series by acclaimed picture-book creator Keith Baker perfect for beginning readers.

Whoever would have expected an early reader book to divulge so much about the nature of a happy marriage?

Mr. and Mrs. Green can teach readers about more than useful applications of phonics.

In real life, not just reading, and even when at a park... One must make choices. Which will it be? For example:

To swim laps in the wading pool, or to smell all the flowers?

This book's gentle humor may especially delight those of us who have had a good friend (or spouse) for many, many years.

Definitely, this is a superb, FIVE STAR, read.

I liked this book because Mr. and Mrs. Green both ate ice cream. I also liked this book because there was an ice cream truck.

A cute story of Mr. and Mrs. Green and their activities at the park. Mrs. Green is checking out the flowers, the birds, the butterflies and Mr. Green is doing every activity he can find. But what stops both of them from their activities. . .the arrival of the ice cream truck.

Mr. Green has ears only for the ice cream truck's song.
