Follow our journey through the highs and lows, the joys and pitfalls of learning to sail, getting our first qualifications, chartering our first boat, buying our first boat, eventually trading that boat for an ocean going yacht. Part one of the book tells the story of 8 years of getting ready to leave the UK.
Part two of the book takes the reader on the first part of our journey, leaving the UK to sail to the Panama Canal via Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Madeira, Canaries, Cape Verde, Windward Islands, Trinidad, Curacao, Colombia and Panama. The story is told by following our journey via the 90 anchorages we visited along the way. Coordinates are given for all the anchorages. Read about our story as we sail our boat through fascinating countries and take on the challenges and might of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea to reach the gateway to the Pacific, the Panama Canal. Read how we overcame problems with the boat and fought the elements on the several long voyages that you must sail to reach these far flung destinations as well as the joys of being a sea gypsy!
