A Vision of Fangs 2: Nobleblood

Rate this book
I’ve become a lover to the enemy of my people. Now it’s time to burn it all down.

My three diabolical mates have rescued me from my prison in the clouds, but it didn’t come without a cost. Now the true war begins. My vampires fight to break the tyrannical Five Ministries; I fight to break the bonds of servitude forced on my people, the human cattle.

I’m not the same girl I was before being imprisoned. I’ve been broken and remolded. Now, I’m the Lady of Manor Marquin—a queen in the eyes of Lord Skartovius Ashfen. Together with Skar, the massive vampire Vallan, and our witty dhampir lover Garroway, I’ve been corrupted absolutely.

We have to be If we try to take down all Five Ministries at once, we’ll die. Our rebellion is small, for now. But we have new allies, tools, and understanding of my Loreblood. But someone is betraying us, making things dangerous. There’s an enemy obsessed with me, lurking. Death waits in every alleyway.

People will die. The question is… who can I save? And will it be enough?

(Nobleblood is book two in “A Vision of Fangs,” a dark fantasy romance with dastardly vampires, intense violence and seduction, and a thin thread of hope running through it all. Please read the trigger warnings.)

I have no idea how this happened, but I was almost 80% through this book when I realised I've been imagining a T in Sephania's name FOR MONTHS. If you woke me up in the middle of the night and asked me, I'd 100% tell you I SAW a T in there, and that her name was Stephania.

And how I noticed there was no T, well, basically I looked at the chapter heading and somehow saw it for what it was, but I was like huh there's a misspelling, that's weird...and then I went back to check and realised there's no T anywhere. Womp womp.

Unfortunately, I think I'll keep reading her name as I originally saw it, but I'll try not to misspell it anymore (and I'll go back and fix it in my review of book one as well).

Now that that's out of the way, Nobleblood got unexpectedly dark in a few places, mainly in regards to Vallan.

What he went through reminded me of another character in one of KC's other books, and I felt so bad for him, especially because he didn't talk about it with anyone. Except that it's kind of implied at the end that he did talk to Skar, but I wanted him to open up about it to Sephania. Maybe he will in book three.

I think I remember a potential clue in book one that maybe Skar knew even then? It's hard to tell.

He's basically like a stone and keeps everything inside and suffers in silence, poor baby. He keeps telling himself that he's fine, because he's used to it, but dude, you are not fine!!

There was one scene where Sephania noticed Vallan flinching at the mention of someone and then that conversation she had with Skar, but I don't think she put two and two together just yet. And it actually kinda bugs me that she didn't dig deeper into it. I get why, and what she was preoccupied with, but still.

Then we have Palacia, who I'm happy got a bigger role, but at what cost!!! Poor baby 2.0. Will any of these characters ever know peace? On a lighter note, why do I feel like she'll end up as one of Sephania's mates...I am very much for the idea, if it comes to pass.

Jinneth got the short end of the stick too, nobody had a good time in this book, lemme tell you!! She's growing on me, as a character. And I love the LGBT rep we're getting with her (and the other characters).

As for the main cast, Lukain completely won me over. He's in first place now, not just character wise, but mate ranking wise too. He didn't even need a redemption arc, he was fine as is, but of course it helps that he's properly on the right side of things now.

Skar and Garro are a packaged deal, I can't mention one without mentioning the other. I like their dynamic, but don't always agree with their methods *cough* Skar bending the truth *cough*. I do want to see how said truth bending will turn out, in the long run.

Vallan I already talked about, but I want everyone to know that he's under my protection!!! No one can hurt him anymore!!! I won't let them!!!

And Sephania, you can really see her growth, as well as her helpful nature. She wants to make the world a better place, even if she puts herself/her own life at risk.

In relation to that, the Loreblood experiments were interesting, and so was seeing how someone's personality changes when they get turned into a vampire. I won't say who, obviously. But there was one character who was really opinionated, and then when they got turned, they became subdued and obedient.

I also enjoyed the "writing" sections, you'll know what I mean when you read the book. But basically, we learned a lot about a certain character's history, and so many things are making sense.

The book ended with a bang, quite literally, and now I have to wait till December to see it through. Booooo.

If you like vampires, and a series with lots of twists, you may want to consider giving A Vision of Fangs a try. And if you're already a fan of KC's work...what are you waiting for, pick up the books!!

*Thank you to the amazing author for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review*

Thank you so so much to the author for sharing an ARC of this book with me !!!

“Drink me … until I can’t walk”

“Change doesn’t one from standing in the shadows”

After Loreblood, I knew Nobleblood would have been FIRE !!! This series is like a growing addiction you can’t get out of and it’s funny and entertaining while being spicy and incredibly action driven. And the vampire lovers … more unhinged than ever and even more obsessed with her. Finally we get the reason why some things came to be. Finally we can make more profound connections between the characters. Both literally and figuratively. I had a great time, tryjng to figure out what was happening to Steph and to her vampire lovers and I think I finally found my fav amongst them … but I won’t express it because I don’t want to influence other people considering that the situation got more complicated and there is more flesh involved !!! I honestly cannot wait for the last book in this trilogy, especially considering the last 50 or so pages of plot twist after plot twists that the author gave us !!!

“You’re never in danger with us. All we want to do is protect you … even if you can test our patience at times”

“Come love. Step into the darkness with me”

I like big books and I can not lie… So if you’re like me, you’re in for a treat with “Nobleblood”; the pages just kept on coming! And so did the intrigue, the backstabbing, the danger, the vampires and so much more. This second book feels a bit like a build-up to the big finale, but there is still enough happening to keep the storyline interesting on its own. And once again the cliffhanger was an interesting one…

During this book, these characters prove more than once that they are not necessarily good people. Morally grey decisions, together with a touch of Machiavelli’s ‘the end justifies the means’, make it hard to trust each other. It even makes it hard for me as a reader at times; the feelings of betrayal are absolutely real! And with so many people with their own personal agenda’s, things are bound to go wrong. And it stings to see the wrong person receiving the consequences, time and time again. But feeling all those things while reading is awesome in a way; it shows how real the emotions become and how invested I’ve become in these characters and their stories.

The ending of book two is making me massively excited to dive into the third and final book!

Nobleblood is book two in A Vision of Fangs trilogy. The story continues. This dark fantasy romance has lots of vampires, danger, betrayal, violence and of course, Lots of HEAT. The characters have great chemistry. Sephania is fearless. The story plays out in front of your eyes. So many twists and turns. It was very hard to put down and now I have to wait patiently for part three.
