He and Argentine artist Eduardo Risso, with whom Azzarello first worked on Jonny Double, won the 2001 Eisner Award for Best Serialized Story for 100 Bullets #15–18: "Hang Up on the Hang Low".
Azzarello has written for Batman ("Broken City", art by Risso; "Batman/Deathblow: After the Fire", art by Lee Bermejo, Tim Bradstreet, & Mick Gray) and Superman ("For Tomorrow", art by Jim Lee).

Ara entenc per què no vaig pillar res de l'anterior: m'havia llegit el número 8 abans d'aquest. Se m'escapaven què hi feien personatges que no coneixia amb històries explicades a mitges.
Tampoc és que ara hagi entès gaire res. La història s'ha tornat massa enrevesada pel meu gust i no sé qui és qui al Trust. Els salts temporals són tan bruscos que costa situar-se, i ja no sé qui ha fet què a qui ni quan ni on.
M'agradava molt més la sèrie en els seus inicis, amb històries gairebé autoconclusives, que aquest deliri conspiranoic en què s'ha acabat convertint.
