The K-9 her daughter needs… The second chance their hearts deserve.
The last person service dog trainer Seth Hudson ever expected to see again was Caroline Bright, the woman who broke his heart. Tragedy shattered Caroline’s faith in him twelve years ago, but now the single mom is back to ask for help training a medical alert dog for her daughter, who has diabetes. Despite the tension between them, Seth can’t bring himself to refuse, even though training will mean spending lots of time together. Little Nina instantly bonds with Spud—and Seth can’t help adoring Nina. As the book description alludes to, Seth & Caroline know each other from the past but tragedy separated them both. This takes place twelve years later with the added layer of young Nina, Caroline's five-year-old daughter who was recently diagnosed with diabetes. With her fierce independence and tenacity, she is raising her as a single mom. Though sometimes that independence gets in the way of relationships, whether family or love interests. Seth is understandably wary of getting involved with Caroline again….“once burnt, twice shy” as they say. Only because of Nina does he agree to train a medical alert dog for her.
This story is emotional, at least it was for me! I can relate to a lot of what Caroline goes through as a mom, the constant worry about your kids (though mine didn’t have serious medical conditions) and being overly controlling or overbearing. I had to laugh and shake my head at myself because I would do or say the exact thing she would in the situations she found herself in. What I appreciated the most was the author included some Biblical tips that Caroline found online to help with stress & the need to always be in control of everything. I actually wrote them down so I can refer back to them when I need to remind myself! The character growth for both Caroline & Seth was amazing, they had a whole lot of past hurts to deal with. With God’s help, the love of family and Godly advice, they were able to overcome those hurts. I’m a sap for the happily-ever-after at the end of the book, and I thought Kememer tied it all up in a very satisfying way. And of course, the K-9 companion dogs (Spud and Liverwurst) added the cuteness factor to sweeten this up even more….I mean, look at that adorable cover!

A sweet read for anyone who loves second chances like me. Can a K9 get these two back together or is it a lost cause? Of course I had to read on to find out. As you know, things happen sometimes beyond our control and sometimes we choose those things. The cover is sooooo adorable so I wanted to read it and I loved every minute of it. I finished it in a few hours because I couldn't put this book down. I love this authors stories. She's an excellent writer and knows how to keep her audience captivated. They're realistic and sometimes they'll make you want to cry, cheer and shake the characters. Ive felt all these emotions while reading this story. We cant forget the anger either. Definitely felt that coming off the pages. I really enjoyed this story so im giving this story 5 stars for a job well done! Thanks for the opportunity to read and review. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
A K-9 to Reunite Them is a Christian, second chance, heartwarming romance. Caroline's daughter, Nina, who has juvenile diabetes, needs a medical alert dog. Despite his reservations, Seth steps in to find a dog and to train Caroline and Nina. The dog Seth finds, Spud, is absolutely awesome. I loved these books that showcase these amazingly trained, hard working animals that make such a difference in someone's life. As Seth spends so much time with Caroline and Nina, old feelings start to surface. In this well written book about forgiveness, courage, trust and hope, watch how Caroline and Seth almost don't get their HEA. I was sad to reach the end.
