I had the honor of translating this book from Hebrew to English. It tells the incredible true story of a Muslim man who was born in Gaza—just a few kilometers from where I grew up in the farming communities near the border.
As he grew up, he made the courageous decision to walk away from the hatred he was raised on in Gaza and, after a determined and tumultuous journey, became a proud Jewish Israeli.
This extraordinary story offers a rare and highly unconventional glimpse into the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The author, who was born Ayman and now goes by Dor, shares his personal journey in a way that only someone who has truly lived on both sides of the divide can.
