His work accurately captures the city through on-site sketches of daily life. In them we see not only places but meaningful moments. It is a chronicle of drawings that show a Malaga that is alive with many omments of rare beauty, and others that are hopelessly imperfect.

Luis Ruiz Padrón consigue transmitir eso tan difícil que encuentro al dibujar, la atmósfera de los sitios. Algo absolutamente reconocible en estas páginas para quien ama la ciudad de Málaga. Las páginas de este libro en poco tiempo se han convertido en “históricas”, pues algunos pasajes nos muestran lugares comunes que no hemos sabido preservar y otros que han mutado -a veces tristemente- hacia algo más insípido. La edición es cuidada y transmite perfectamente el efecto de un cuaderno de dibujo, algo que se agradece, llegando a provocar el deseo de echarse a la calle a dibujar. Se me antoja que, visto lo publicado por el autor en las páginas de SUR y su incesante actividad entre los urban sketchers, debe ser una infinidad lo que podría atesorar un futuro libro de pesada envergadura, un objeto más que deseable. Una joya para ver de una tacada o salpicado, o para regresar muchas veces, picoteando.
