IF you are looking for a book to begin your research or to understand the topic of citizenship in the modern world this is a great book. It covers theory and then backs it up with historical examples. Kivisto uses interesting stories and examples from all over the world as to how citizenship laws are different and how they have came into being. With the increase in migration and transnationalism, this will become a topic of debate more and more and this book will help you understand the complexity of citizenship in the modern world.
