Derek's two friends share a look and even Boyd can’t muster up the strength to deal with his pathetic attempt at denial. “Come on now, Derek, seriously? We know about you and Stiles.”
“Yeah, we know you two are fuck buddies,” Erica adds with a smirk, and Derek buries his head in his hands.
“That’s not exactly the terminology I would use,” he murmurs, his whole face burning with embarrassment.
“How else would you describe having sex with your best friend who has no clue you’re in love with him?” Boyd asks, actually sounding curious about his answer.
Derek lifts his head, opens his mouth to reply, but only ends up making a few ridiculous noises that can’t pass for actual words. When Derek finally just throws his hands up in defeat, admitting, “Okay, fine, that’s exactly how you’d describe it,” Erica and Boyd shake their heads at him.
Or the one in which Derek and Stiles are childhood friends, their freshman year of high school Derek makes the craziest suggestion ever, and four years later Stiles decides to take him up on it.

For those who avoid highschool Sterek because it's often rated G, then here's your chance to delve into this particular AU because this was rated X! Yes - X!!!!
So I was in heaven because I love this trope, and with the added bonus of smex, this is the best fluff I (or any of you pack members) could wish for.
There's a bit of a role reversal here.
Derek is a hot, but shy nerd; his social awkwardness endearing.
Stiles is a hot, popular lacrosse star, full of confidence and charm. He's actually the aggressor and it's pretty hot.
Though this runs rampant with over the top cluelessness, it was so much fun. AND don't forget - there's sexy times! Bonus!!

Derek and Stiles are both 18 and have been best friends all their lives.
I really liked the idea of nerdy Derek with Stiles trying to seduce him. But I must say in the end I was really annoyed with Derek’s thick-headedness. It was ridiculous.
The sex was great.
Well, it takes Derek a long time to get to that point, Stiles..

There is no broody Derek, everyone is alive...even Stiles mom.
Both Derek and Stiles are both clueless, but adorable.
Even after sexy times, they are both clueless. But it escalates fast from that point.

"While you were two were busy groping each other in the foam pit--" Jackson drawls but is cut off by warning looks from both Lydia and Erica. Derek resists the urge to cover his face with his hands and doesn't even chance a look over at Stiles.
Boyd finishes his thought, "We played a few games of dodgeball, found out we have some common interests, and we're all kind of friends now."
Derek does actually glance at Stiles this time to gauge his reaction; his friend looks absolutely ecstatic about this turn of events. "That's awesome!" He exclaims, wrapping his arms around Erica and Lydia. "You guys are all friends now; it's a miracle I never thought would happen."

Hands down one of the best (if not the best) all-human High School Sterek fics I’ve read.
It’s told through Derek’s POV, which I’m always a sucker for. The boys are best friends and the same age. To be honest, Derek is fairly OOC, being quite shy and extremely nerdy, but the essence of him and his outsider mentality is pretty strong. Stiles is Stiles, but a popular version of himself. This didn’t bother me, because I figure anyone as awesome as Stiles should be popular and universally loved anyway, so it worked. The witticisms are there, and the incoherent ramblings, just minus all the flailing goofiness.
The relationship build-up was flirty and fun, and the smex that followed was even better.
I particularly enjoyed all the current pop culture references. A story that quotes Mean Girls, discusses the emotional impact of Pixar movies and acknowledges Sailor Jupiter as the best Sailor Scout, automatically gets high praise from me.
I believe this would have worked even as a non-Sterek story and I’d probably still love it.
I’m off to go vote the crap out of this on Listopia!

It's frustrating formulaic and there's overuse of the words "the young man" to refer to one/both of the MCs.
More often than not I dislike the trope of friends-with-benefits-to-lovers and casual-sex-to-feelz. The characters here just fail at communicating and I can't be bothered to wait for the light to turn on, especially since that's all any of the supporting characters talk about.
Good characterizations, I suppose, and a charming prompt. I'm just allergic to fluff. No rating.

Even the admittedly pretty hot sexy times could not save this for me.

I really liked this story. This is a Sterek fanfiction story. For those of you that don't know...Sterek fanfic is based off 2 male characters, Stiles and Derek, from the TV show Teen Wolf. In the show they're both heterosexual but some viewers have fantasized about them together in a m/m relationship and thus Sterek was born. This one isn't based in the TV show world; everyone is human and everyone (including Stiles' mother and Derek's family) is alive. Stiles and Derek are the same age and have been BFFs since they were very small.
So the story begins in the past, in 2010 when Stiles and Derek are freshmen in High School. Stiles has just discovered the wonder that is Lydia Martin and has fallen head over heals for her. Since Derek has been in love with Stiles since they were around 10, this is rather bad news for him. Stiles makes a fool of himself when trying to talk to Lydia and decides that he needs to be popular to get her attention. Stiles then starts focusing his attention on working out and getting on the Lacrosse team. We fast forward to 4 years later. Stiles now is popular and Derek isn't. Stiles and Derek are still friends but don't hang out nearly so often and Derek has long since given up any hope that Stiles might want him. So when Stiles suddenly starts showing an interest in taking their friendship further things end up a little confusing. It was interesting to see Stiles and Derek as 2 high schoolers and BFFs that were trying to work past the mis-understandings and come to terms with their feelings. There's some drama but it's not too bad...thank goodness for interfering friends or the story might not have ended with Derek and Stiles starting their HEA together.
I really enjoyed this story a lot. Derek and Stiles weren't really the same personality wise as they are in the TV show but I still really liked the story. It's from Derek's PoV and I loved reading about him as a non-broody but rather awkward (and very smart) young man completely in love with his BFF but not knowing how to show it. Overall, it was sweet, funny and endearing story. I'd recommend this story. :D

I wasn't intending to read another high schooler book and it's not so bad besides both of them being completely oblivious. And the immaturity of them also. Otherwise cute read.
