I most often compare my work to Twilight meets 50 Shades (my vampires in Cora's Choice are more dark and angsty, and the S/M elements grow more and more pronounced as the series progresses), but the names that readers most often mention are Anne Rice and Sherrilyn Kenyon.
In Cora's Choice, Cora's Bond, and the following series, I wanted to show a heroine's journey from ordinary girl to someone super tough. This is a journey of months--years, even. So many stories start with an Anita Blake-type, able to kick ass and take names from the first we meet her. I thought it would be awesome and really interesting to show someone becoming that person through tiny changes that build on each other.
My world puts a different twist on everything from vampires (they're alive) to elves (aliens) and demons (interdimensional djinn). The Alpha's Captive series features a kickass heroine out of the gate, while Cora's Choice series--followed my Cora's Bond and others--has my "big" character story line.
Yes, there's an HEA. :) But the story keeps going on!

Levi and Harper are back again! This set of stories are even quicker paced and move quickly through this couples circumstances. There's a lot more action and angst as well going on because not everything is going as planned. This is a nice quick read for shifter fans.

Ok, this series is getting a little boring but I'm already invested so I have to see it to the end.

VM Black has converted me when it comes to serials. I found book one of this series months ago for free and put the series on my to get list when I got Christmas Gift cards. Well I received a copy of her series Cora's Bond and if you had told me the same writer wrote these two worlds I would have said no, but yes! The contrast in world's and characters is amazing and will not disappoint!
This series is about Levi (werewolf) and Harper (human). It starts off with Levi on the run from having stolen something from an evil vampire. He car jacks Harper, only to find that woman is hard to get one over on and even harder to make upset/girly scream, even when she just had mind blowing sex on the hood of her carjacked car with the car jacker, who then turns into a wolf, and fights bad guys with a grenade launcher. She never misses a beat and it just gets faster paced and builds a world that is believable and characters that while enjoyable are not cliche. I will not tell you where you go to get supplies to fight an evil vampire, but it was one of the most awesome scenes as I could so picture it!

Levi realized he could not get the information off the SD card with the reader so he has to go to Chay's layer now and he's not happy about it. He just can't figure out how they keep finding his location he's being very cautious with every move he make and it fin all hits him he must being carring a tracker some where. Now he has to find the tracker before they find them again. Harper is finding out a lot about her wolf an and she can't help but like him even more than she already does. She's trying to keep her emotions locked up tight so she does not get hurt in the long run. All Harper wants to do is make sure he's safe before they part ways after this is all over.

Levi and Harper made it to Chay's layer and find out that he is on the most wanted and that he kidnapped Harper. After finding out that Chay can't get the information off it and he needs the encryption box. Levi has to go back to Mortenen's house and find the box that is the size of a toaster. Now Levi has to find a way to get this without getting caught.

Well, this one did not have as much action as the others did, V.M. spoiled me into expecting it…lol! It is still very enjoyable, and you definitely learn more about Levi. There of course is still all sorts of sexual tension.

I have rated these two books in this series five stars, V.M. Black is creative, imaginetive, and her books are well written. Escape picks up where the third book stop. Levi and Harper have taken a chip from a very bad Vampire who will stop at nothing to get it back. As they are on the run, Levi try's to get Harper to leave him and save herself, but Harper is stubborn and she refused. As they pass a road block. Levi realize that Harper is mate.
A highly original, highly imaginative story blending car chases with military operations and ultra-high-tech gear, and laced with passion and sexual tension .This story is very engrossing and thought-provoking, the novel features larger-than-life characters and situation. This is a marvelous entertaining read.

I received this book as a ARC for a honest review! I will attempt to NOT post spoilers but it does Happen!
When I started this next step in The Alpha's Captive I was thinking it would maybe slow down. Boy, was I wrong!! In fact it gets even steamer and fast paced with car chases, killer vamps. Cops left and right with both werewolves and reg old fashion dogs after them.
Just when you think it can get any faster it hits off again! There is a cliff hanger, I strongly suggest you read books 1 - 3 to understand it. You can also find bits of this story mixed in with out of control by V.M. Black if you want to see it from Beanies point of view and his spook shop! (Which is another GREAT book set by Ms Black!!)

They have traveled across the state in a stolen Mini Cooper, getting closer and closer to Levi's IT guy. Having eluded a police checkpoint, a police dog on their scent, and a police chase, they finally get to the Black Mesa facility and Harper meets Chey (IT guy) for the first time. You see snippets of what's going on with Levi and Harper from Chey's point of view in Panther Quest.

Levi had been running hot and cold with Harper and she wants answers. Levi tells her that it is all or nothing and he wants her. After finding out the SD card is encrypted, Levi and Harper must flee the mountain to look for a toaster shaped box to use to decrypt the stolen SD card.

A HOWLING GREAT READ!!! I loved this series! Hands down, one of the best I've ever read! Exciting! Action Packed! Smart! Well Written! Gripping! Powerful! Thrilling! Enticing! Imaginative! Funny! Addictive! Sweet! Arousing! Sexy! Sensual! Romantic! And Hot! Hot! Hot! I was totally captivated! Powerful story with smart, sassy dialog. Fantastic characters that jumped off the page, captured my heart and became my friends! I laughed! I cried! And sometimes forgot to breathe! There is a reason why V.M. Black is one of my favorite authors. She writes awesome BBW/Werwolf Romance stories that are addictive, enthralling, and supremely well-written. They are steamy, sexy, and thought provoking and stay with you long after you finish reading them. The characters are great with real flaws, real strengths, and real passion. She grabs hold of you at the captivating cover and keeps you imprisoned until the very end. The Alpha's Captive series is exciting, heartbreaking, and sexy with some twists and turns you didn't see coming.

I generally don't like serials, but when they are bundled and you don't have to wait for the next one to come out I can enjoy them. I really like V.M. Blacks writing style and have enjoyed many of her books. I enjoyed the interaction between the Levi & Harper in this story and would enjoy seeing them in future writings. I also enjoy how Ms. Black brings characters from other books into a lot of her writings, it gives the stories extra life and can help you remember characters from the past as their paths cross into the newer stories.

Note to readers read the first bundle before this bundle.The author does a wonderful job of my making her characters come to life. You feel like you are going on the joy with Levi and Harper. They are really strong characters with strong personalities. I'm enjoying seeing where they end up. Strong plot and story line. Has twists and turns to keep you interested and makes you want more. Can't wait for the next book/ bundle!

What a wonderful continuation from the first bundle! I fell more in love with Levi and Harper and was thrilled to be introduced to Chay from V.M.Black's series "Taken by the Panther"! I love the way the author blends action, love, humor, suspense, and hotness all neatly tied together with a bow! BUT.............it's not the end. Go ahead and buy the last bundle as well! You are going to NEED it!!!

At the end of flight, Levi cannot read the sd card, so they need to go see his buddy Beane. In haven and escape, we get a closer understanding of Levi. Also, Levi comes to realize he cannot let Harper go. He explains some of his past history with her at Beane's and informs her he will not let her go. The police find them at Beane's so they have to leVe. After leaving Beane tends them he needs something informer to read the encrypted files, so off they are again at the end of Escape.

Harper and Levi have finally figured out how the bad guys are finding them and have given them the slip for now. The two travel to Levi's reclusive friend, Chay (from Taken By The Panther) and are finally able to catch their breath while Chay tries to solve the mystery of the SD card. Another two well written books from VM Black. The anticipation is building really well as the stories progress and develop. This is an excellent bridge forward to the conclusion installments.

Harper and Levi's story continues in the Alpha's captive books 4+5, I seriously love this series, the storyline right from book 1 has been action packed and the rapor and growing relationship between the two is a constant source of entertainment. Another great series from a very talented Author.
I can't wait to read the final instalments but at the same time will be sorry to finish, definitely a series I will re-read.

This story just keeps getting better. Levi has finally acknowledged his feelings for what he has known to be true from the beginning. Beane was so geeky adorable but no nonsense that made me like him so much. His generosity to help others and Levi, no matter what his situation is great. Harper being kidnapped is starting to look not good for the pair if they ever get out of this hot water. I can't wait to see where next since the first planned failed.

Words cannot describe how much I enjoy reading these books.I love how Levi and Harper got each other back throughout this whole adventure it just seems no matter how much they try danger still find a way to find them. But when it looks like all hope is lost Levi and Harper fight their way out of their deadly situation to make it to their IT guy Beane "Chay" it does once again in on a cliffhanger but I'm looking forward to reading the other books.

Harper and Harris continue with their escape, trying to elude the vampires and police. In the meantime their relationship is examined. The story continues to keep the reader interested, so I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. However, I think the pricing is too much. I paid $2.99 for 200 pgs, so that is $1.50 for each 100 pgs. I think $.99 - $1.99 would have been more appropriate.

This series is getting better and better. Such a great couple, who take chances and keep watch over each other, as they run for their lives. They fall in love, while running from a vampire, with control over the police and everyone around them. They watch over each other and fight their way out of deadly situations, while their love blossoms out of their desperate situation. What a read!!

Levi and Harpers story keeps getting better and better. I just love the dynamic between the two. I can not wait to see how this turns out. The way their luck is so far im a bit concered. This is action packed and super sexy. I love VM Black's world.

Plenty of action and adventure! Levi and Harper are always in danger! Two books as one! Her characters grow on every page! They use creative means to get out of danger for a few minutes anyway! I love Ms. Black's books! I love your imagination!!!

There is nothing better than a little snark to lighten things up. In these episodes we find out a little more background information as to the whys of this thievery. Oh and we get to meet the paranoid geek too.

Books 4-5 of The Alpha's Captive series. Great continuation of the werewolf shifter series. The story of Levi and Harper has action, adventure and romance. Can't wait to see what else they get into.

V.M. Black is such a great writer!! The author does a wonderful job of my making her characters come to life.The story kept me on the edge of my seat and there were so many laugh out loud moments.
