Two books and a bonus chapter in one volume! Woohoo! Thanks Miranda and TB!
The only thing better than a co-written story by TB Markinson and Miranda Macleod is two of their co-writes bundled together in a single volume; well that and a bonus chapter tucked in there too, all of which you get here. I reviewed each of the books separately (pre-bundling) back when they were originally published in 2022. Here are those reviews:
Take Two:
4.0 out of 5 stars Good ol' (movie) holiday fun and wish fulfillment
These two authors make a great writing team with their seamless collaboration; this story is proof of that and they've treated their fans to some Easter eggs as well so keep an eye out for those while you're enjoying this story. I hope they keep writing (together and separately) for many years to come.
Main characters Sophia and Gina are very likable and Sophia's mom Mrs Rossi is a standout among the roster of secondary characters along with Sophia's sisters. The plot twists are a mix of surprising and easier to spot ahead of time but some are delicious wish fulfillment in their unfolding. Fans of holiday TV movies will appreciate the movie being made during the story and the tropes being upheld or tweaked. I laughed, cheered, 'awwed' my way thru, and occasionally booed for and/or told off a villain for their actions while reading the story; I didn't expect to get that invested but Gina had me caring about and rooting for her as well as Sophia, both separately and as a couple. Mrs Rossi's meddling made it all the more fun to read; she is a priceless character to be sure and a scene stealer for her comedic moments. I read the book quickly over a couple of days, reluctant to put it down at times. The very end felt a bit weak to me compared to the rest of the book, more the kind you'd get in a made for TV movie than a book, but I still had a smile on my face and a feeling of satisfaction for the entertaining ride the storyline took me on.
Christmas at Rainbow Falls:
4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful feel-good story
I blazed thru this book over a weekend, clearing my to do list to be able to settle in and be in 'Rainbow Falls' with its inhabitants for long periods of time. There's plenty of laughs, delectable baked goods, and a pervasive feeling of warmth and community in their best iterations. The ending felt somewhat open ended while not being a cliff-hanger, as if the (unwritten) epilogue is meant to be imagined by each reader. It leaves the door open for the authors to revisit these characters again at some point and show off the rest of the town where it's set; I'd happily read it if it happened. The social commentary covers some heavy topics in a delicate balance that does not gloss over them nor does it bring the overall light tone of the book down. There is some drama but it's on the light side so this is good fluffy feel-good reading to escape in for hours on end or a chapter or two per sitting. The romance is sweet and for much of the time I just enjoyed Natalie and Celeste interacting and didn't care if they were friends or lovers so long as they were together. I'm always amazed and impressed by the collaboration of authors Markinson and Macleod because the stories they write together are so varied while having a singular voice rather than passages that sound like one author or the other. If you're looking to have your faith in humanity restored read this book even if Christmas isn't your thing; you'll laugh and tear up, maybe even outright cry happy tears a few times. It may even nudge city dwellers to considering small town living for its benefits and give a grinch something to smile about
Be sure to check out the other co-writes TB and Miranda have done together and with other authors, as well as their individual solo publications.

Ok so I love a sappy Christmas story! This one actually is two!
Miranda MacLeod and T.B. Markinson have graced us with two Christmas themed love stories here. I am impressed that both of them are so well written with characters of depth and with settings so perfect for the magic to happen. I admit that I love Christmas HEA’s and further that this has for sure hit the mark. I hope that all you readers agree that your hearts are just a bit fuller when you have read them.

This should be submitted to Tello films for a production. This was a well written, cute and smart ass book to read and I bet it would be fun to watch as a movie. Love the snarky writing and the fact it that it flowed so well. Christmas at Rainbow Falls would make a great romance film and you could probably write the screen play to to include Contains Take Two.
