I don’t have kids myself, but when I read Missing I connected to it right away. It’s about a woman going through every parent’s worst nightmare, her son is missing, and all the emotions, fears, and thoughts that flood in when a loved one is gone. Even without being a parent, I could feel that pull, because we’ve all had moments where we didn’t know what else to do but lean on faith.

What stood out to me is how much the book is really about surrender, about trusting God when there’s nothing left in your control. It reminded me that in life, we all face circumstances where prayer is the only option left, and those moments make you reassess everything. To me, the story reflects spiritual warfare within a family and how your faith, your sisters, and your prayer circle can lift you when you’re too weak to stand on your own.

On top of that, it’s a true page-turner. I kept wanting to know what would happen next. It’s not a long read, but it’s layered, with journal prompts throughout that make you stop and think about your own struggles and how faith has (or could) carry you through them.

I’d recommend this book to anyone, but especially to people who’ve ever felt disconnected from a loved one, whether because of distance, misunderstanding, or even mental illness. It inspires you to look at those situations with a new perspective and to lean into faith when the answers aren’t clear.

I really enjoyed it and found myself connecting with it on multiple levels.
