Leandra Massengill was born in Guntersville, Alabama in 2005. Though she has lived in various places around the world (Croatia, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, and Illinois), she currently lives in her home town with her grandparents with plans to return to the United Arab Emirates with her parents and younger sister. A graduate of Beacon of Hope Christian School in St. Augustine, Florida, she is a full-time online college student at Liberty University. Leandra loves stories regardless of the form they take and has a passion for writing and discovering new worlds between pages. Despite having dyslexia and dysgraphia, she was determined to write Adventures in Otherworlds, being heavily influenced by authors J. K. Rowling, C. S. Lewis, and J. R. R. Tolkien.
Yes, I admit this is my daughter. Diagnosed with dyslexia and dysgraphia, she still fell in love with reading and writing. She began this dream at age 14 and I am so proud that she published at age 19. Love her imagination and way of writing and weaving in beautiful lessons for ages 10 and up I would say!
I absolutely loved this book! I really enjoyed the good messages the stories told. In my opinion I think this book has great moral lessons. I hope the author writes another and wish her great success.
Leandra Massengill is such an inspiration to those of us that also adapt to having dyslexia and dysgraphia in order to live life and conquer our dreams.
This author’s imagination is something to be marveled. Dispite having dysgraphia, the way the author describes each story is superb. Not only are the stories entertaining, they also remind the reader about inclusiveness, forgiveness, the importance of friendship & family, and self worth.
