Hometown Touchdown

Rate this book

After my fiancé called off our wedding, I rolled back into Cedar Falls with a bunch of boxes, a bruised ego, and no clue what I was doing. The plan was hide out, drink excessive amounts of coffee, and try not to unravel in front of my mother. What I didn’t plan on was ending up in a rental owned by Knox Dalton, my high school sweetheart, the boy I never really got over, and now my very off-limits landlord.

He’s still infuriatingly quiet, unfairly good-looking, and somehow even more magnetic than I remembered. And while we’re both pretending everything’s totally fine, my pulse says otherwise every time I see him. We broke up years ago. I was the one who ended it. But what if we were never really over? How long can I pretend I don’t want the man who still feels like mine?

When an injury ended my pro career, I came home to Cedar Falls with a wrecked knee and a coach high school football, keep things simple, and stay out of trouble. Then Brynn Marlow showed up. Six years after she broke things off, she’s back in town, living next door and stealing my peace of mind one pair of leggings and one sarcastic smile at a time.

I’ve got a team to run, a town full of busybodies to ignore, and a past I swore I was done revisiting. But none of that seems to matter when I hear her laugh through the wall or catch her looking at me like she’s remembering how good we were together. I keep telling myself I’ve got this under control. But how am I supposed to stay away when the only woman I ever loved is suddenly everywhere?

Full of small-town gossip, second chances, and Friday night lights, Hometown Touchdown brings the perfect mix of football, friendship, and sizzling romance. Fans of grumpy coaches, sassy heroines, and meddling neighbors will feel right at home in Cedar Falls.

Hometown Touchdown ARC 🏈💖🐾

I love discovering new authors and Jocelyn's Hometown Touchdown is already one of my favorite reads for the year. It's for all my gals that love romance; I laughed, but by the time the epilogue came, I was a crying mess.

The story of Brynn and Knox gave me the vibes of the TV show Hart of Dixie, but Cedar Falls is filled with football, small-town antics, and two former high school sweethearts. Six years have passed since Brynn ended their relationship, and not much has changed in Cedar Falls apart from the fact that Brynn and Knox are both in their late 20s. After the breakup, Knox left for the NFL & is now the high school football coach. Brynn, on the other hand, is the talk of the town after her fiancé called off their wedding, and she soon finds out that Knox is her new landlord. Knox should avoid the girl who broke his heart, but he soon finds that difficult since they share a wall and he still seems to find her in every room. As a result, many sentiments, both old and new, erupt between these two as they try to make amends. As the walls fall between them, their chemistry was incredible. They will weather any storm together.

Knox is the perfect combination of sweet, extremely sexy, dirty and went into my top book boyfriend roster. I love that even though his dreams didn't go as planned, he never stopped being a caring person. He has an incredible heart and he was gentle and incredibly observant. Brynn was such a refreshing FMC; she deserved so much happiness. She's funny, sharp, bold, & extremely sarcastic. She does so much healing and she has her own set of issues and has been hurt so much. I loved that Knox knew what she always needed and really made her feel beautiful and sexy.

If you enjoy authors like Laura Pavlov and Elsie Silver, I highly recommend this book. In addition to the fact that it was a football/coach romance, I'm just obsessed with this couple. Despite their separation, their reconciliation was beautiful; they had one of the healthiest relationships I've read about. I can't wait to return to Cedar Falls with hopefully Cam's story… we'll really everyone.🤭👀

Thank you to Jocelyn Jacobs and Luna Literary for the ARC. 💖

Talk about SWOOONY. I would literally get on my hands and knees and BEG for a man like Knox. 🧎‍♀️ This was such a solid debut from Jocelyn and I have a feeling this is going to be an amazing series.

Brynn returns home following the fall out of engagement and is trying to put her life back together but can't seem to stop running into her childhood sweetheart, Knox. I loved their early on banter. You could just feel the pain Knox felt when he saw her again but his feelings came rushing back as well.

Brynn is so strong when her medical diagnosis made her completely re-evaluate her entire life, regardless of how heartbroken she was over it. Knox was SO supportive. None of it mattered to him and he just wanted her, period. He showed it so well too.

Overall, this was a perfect feel good small town romance that had me falling in love with Knox and Brynn. I can't wait to see what comes next!

Another new author, and another absolutely adorable story! I devoured this one in less than 24 hours because I just couldn’t get enough of them! Brynn and Knox had me captivated from the very beginning — I loved the first scene in the bar with them 🤣

This was honestly just such a feel good story. Brynn does struggle with infertility and that topic can be heavy, however I feel like it was written with care, but still showed how raw and emotional it can be. Knox is a king for the way he responded and handled Brynn opening up to him. I feel like this isn’t something included in a lot of books, that’s what drew me to this one in the first place. Infertility is something that affects a lot of people, and I’d love to see more representation of it.

This really was a heartwarming second chance story. I love the high school sweethearts x second chance tropes lately! This one was done so well and really just had my heart bursting the whole time!

I honestly cannot wait to see what else is to come! I enjoyed so many of the side characters and the bread crumbs left behind 👀

That was so freaking sweet!!! Dammit, Knox. You're the sweetest man, ever!!!!

Knox, the hero, was indeed the hero. He was so freaking sweet, loyal, caring, hot, and everything! He is definitely one of the perfect heroes I have ever read. He was so understanding I was kind of hoping he would actually end up with another woman because Brynn broke his heart once and so much. That being said, I wish Brynn were groveling more than she had done. I wish Knox hadn't forgiven her that quickly. I understood they both were equally heartbroken when Brynn ended their relationship, but afterwards, Brynn somewhat engaged with someone else while Knox stayed single. This is why the second-chance trope is not my first pickup trope, I usually feel like at least one character doesn't redeem themselves enough. Though in this book, the second chance went well, I still wish Brynn had redeemed herself more.

The whole meddling people were so funny to read. Cedar Falls is so chaotically entertaining and I can't wait to be back there. Second book, Cam's, please don't take a long time to release 🙏🏻

Huge thank you to Luna Literacy & Jocelyn Jacobs for this ARC! <3

This book kinda had a slow start, so it took a bit for me to get into fully. But once I was in, I was IN! Jocelyn Jacobs wrote Brynn and Knox so incredibly well. They're adorable and sweet and it was so nice to watch them learn to communicate with one another.

This is a great second chance romance that feels like insta-love simply because they know each other so well. Jocelyn is an incredible descriptor - I felt like I was on the sidelines at each game, dancing in Gordys with the whole crew, and hiding in that darn laundry room.

If you're looking for a sweet, small town, second chance romance then this book is absolutely for you.

I always say I devour books… but this morning I got this ARC, and after working until 5, I still sat down and read the entire thing in one sitting because I could not stop. I loved it so much.

The way her infertility struggles were written felt so real. As someone recently diagnosed with PCOS, I felt her fatigue, her emotions, and the pain of the unknown. It hit so close to home, and I truly connected with her. Brynn was so lovable, such a strong and relatable character, and Knox? He’s just a big ol’ marshmallow of a man, and I adored him.

I have so many quotes saved that I want to share, but I’ll hold back because I don’t want to spoil anything. Just know this: beyond the cover being an easy 10/10, the story itself is an absolute must-read. 🥹 And yes… I need the Priscilla sticker in my life!

“You are it for me. Not because it’s easy. Not because it’s perfect. But because even when it’s hard, I still want you. I always want you.”

“You taught me that home isn’t a place. It’s a person.”

““I love you,” I add, because it needs to be said. Out loud. No shadows left between us. “I loved you before, and I love you now. And I’m not letting you walk away again thinking you’re not enough. Because you are. To me you’re everything. You always have been.””

I blink. “Did you rob Foster’s Pharmacy?” He starts unloading the bags. There’s pain meds, cough syrup, thermometer, electrolyte drinks, a heating pad, cooling pads, throat drops, vitamins, and yep, a stuffed bunny in a tiny T-shirt that says Get Well Soon in Comic Sans. He crouches beside me, sorting through the bags like he’s building an arsenal. “I didn’t know what you needed, so I got everything.” “You bought me a stuffed rabbit.” “I panicked.”

Hometown touchdown was the perfect combination of second chance and small town romance.

The classic football star and homecoming queen who haven’t seen eachother since they broke things off years ago somehow end up neighbors, after our FMC moves back home when her engagement ends.

This book is so cute, and I love the “it’s always been you” trope..not to mention infertility rep, which I love seeing, as so many women including myself have had a personal experience with that!

I love that I got to read this authors debut novel, and can’t wait to see what’s next!

Hometown Touchdown is the first book in the Hearts on the Sideline series, a debut sports romance book by Jocelyn Jacobs. Hometown Touchdown follows Brynn & Knox's story.

Hometown Touchdown is about first loves, second chances, and coming home to where you truly belong.

This book reminded me so much of a Hallmark movie and I loved! It was so sweet and you couldn't help but root for them to get back together! The hometown favorite high school couple coming back together after 6 years apart. Learning to trust each other again, lay some truths out on the table and realizing that sometimes what you've been looking for is right next door!

This book is so cute and fun but still full of real substance and big feelings. I very much enjoyed they style of writing, Jocelyn had me hooked in the first chapter.

I adored Knox and Brynn. I loved the tension between them at the beginning of the book due to their break up 6 years ago. The banter between them had me laughing. I like that they share their secrets and truths and come to love each other all over again. They are so swoony together. The always been your trope is strong in this book.

I really enjoyed the maturity in this book between the characters themselves and the things that play out in it. I can't wait to see where this series goes.

Thank you, Jocelyn Jacob's and Luna Literary, for this ARC. These are my honest opinions and feelings.

This really was a heartwarming second chance story. I love the high school sweethearts x second chance tropes lately! This one was done so well and really just had my heart bursting the whole time!

A new author to me and an I absolutely adorable story, I devoured this one because I just couldn't get enough of them! Brynn and Knox had me captivated from the very beginning the reunion of them seeing one another for the first time in the bar… oh she had guts and grit. I LOVE her. And he just sat there and took it sopping wet.

Brynn returns home following the fall out of engagement of her was soon to be husband decides that he can not get over Brynn’s medical diagnosis and he can’t seem to get past it even though he said differently. She felt the pull from him and her having to deal with that alone broke my heart….

Now Brynn is trying to put her life back together but can't seem to stop running into her childhood sweetheart, Knox. I loved their early on banter. You could just feel the pain Knox felt when he saw her again but his feelings came rushing back as well.

Brynn does struggle with infertility and that topic can be heavy, however I feel like it was written with care, but still showed how raw and emotional it can be. Knox is a king for the way he responded and handled Brynn opening up to him. He never faltered when he heard the news which she thought would be a game changer when they decided to give their relationship another go. He knew the moment he was told the news, nothing would change. HE only wanted her. He would take her however that looked. Infertility is something that affects a lot of people, and that is what drew me to this book and the representation was well thought.

Knox is the perfect combination of sweet, extremely sexy, dirty and went into my top book boyfriend roster. I love that even though his dreams didn't go as planned, he never stopped being a caring person. He has an incredible heart and he was gentle and incredibly observant. He saw her falter when topics became uncomfortable and knew what gestures to make and words to make her know he was there and saw her.

And miss Brynn was such a refreshing FMC; she deserved so much happiness. She's funny, sharp, bold, & extremely sarcastic. She does so much healing and she has her own set of issues and has been hurt so much. I loved that Knox knew what she always needed and really made her feel beautiful and sexy.

So many lines stuck out in this book to me, here are a few that stuck with me through the whole book:

"You are it for me. Not because it's easy. Not because it's perfect. But because even when it's hard, I still want you. I always want you."

"You taught me that home isn't a place. It's a person."

T/W: infertility (on page), broken engagement (on page)

From the very first page, I was hooked—part heartbreak, part small town chaos, and one seriously swoony football coach who never got over his high school love. Brynn and Knox’s second chance romance had me grinning, giggling, and clutching my Kindle like it was fourth-and-goal with seconds on the clock.

Brynn, freshly dumped and bruised, rolls back into Cedar Falls planning to hide out with coffee and sarcasm—only to land next door to Knox Dalton, her first love turned grumpy football coach. Their banter is sharp, their chemistry electric, and every Friday night lights scene is laced with small town charm and just enough gossip to make you feel like part of the bleachers crowd.

What I loved most was the maturity—these two openly face their past, their fears, and their future. There’s no silly third-act breakup, just honest conversations, real growth, and a slow, steady build back to love. Layer in the heartbreak of Brynn’s infertility journey, with Knox proving himself unwavering and loving her exactly as she is, plus a meddling mom squad, a gossip-filled small town Facebook page, and an adorable dog named Priscilla. This book had all the cozy, heartfelt feels I look for in a romance. Cedar Falls feels like the kind of town you want to linger in, and I can’t wait to come back for more.

Swoony Line:

“You were never a footnote in my story, Brynn. You were the whole damn plot. I didn’t want that life without you beside me.”

I received an ARC copy and wanted to leave an honest review.

This book is warm, steady, and deeply human.

Hometown Touchdown is a small-town second-chance romance that understands how complicated love can be when real life gets involved. It’s not just about rekindling feelings — it’s about facing the pain that lingered after everything else moved on, and deciding whether you’re brave enough to try again.

The grumpy x sunshine dynamic is done beautifully here. His guarded nature isn’t mean or closed-off — it’s protective. Hers isn’t naive — it’s resilient. Watching them find their rhythm again feels natural, like slipping back into something familiar but stronger than before.

The football coach MMC brings a sense of structure and stability to the story, grounding the romance in routine and responsibility. The next-door neighbor setup adds an easy intimacy — shared spaces, casual run-ins, moments that feel small but carry weight because of everything they used to be.

The infertility representation is handled with care and respect. It’s not glossed over or used as a plot device; it’s treated as part of their lived experience, shaping how they see themselves and their future. That honesty adds depth to the story and makes their journey toward happiness feel earned rather than idealized.

What I appreciated most is that they fall together. There’s no chasing, no imbalance — just two people choosing each other at the same pace, with open eyes and open hearts. The HEA feels grounded, hopeful, and emotionally satisfying.

I finished this book feeling comforted and quietly emotional. It’s a reminder that second chances don’t erase the past — they honor the growth that came from it.

What you’ll find inside:

small-town romance
second chance love
grumpy x sunshine
football coach MMC
next-door neighbors
infertility representation
mutual emotional growth
a genuine HEA

This one is for readers who love soft endings, real-life depth, and love that shows up steadily and stays. 🏈🤍📖

“You were never a footnote in my story, Brynn. You were the whole ---- plot. I didn't want that life without you beside me."

Summary: Brynn is moving back to Cedar Falls after a six-year hiatus, following her fiancé's sudden decision to call off their wedding just three weeks before. While trying to regroup, she moves in next to none other than her ex-boyfriend... the one she's never actually been able to get over. Knox cannot believe his luck, or lack thereof, when Brynn becomes his tenant and neighbor. Though he tries his best to stay away, Brynn is seemingly everywhere in their small town, and they both discover that their spark might not truly be out.

"I'm gone for him. Stupidly, recklessly, irrevocably gone."

My Thoughts: I was captivated by Hometown Touchdown and enjoyed every moment of it. It was a beautiful story of Knox and Brynn's growth, both individually and as a couple, as they rediscovered each other. I could feel the heartache that both Knox and Brynn had felt for the past six years since their breakup. After they ended up as neighbors, Brynn and Knox fell back in love, and their renewed romance was beautiful to witness. I love that they addressed their six-year breakup before deciding to pursue a relationship again. They figured out how they wanted to move forward and rediscovered their love for one another in an organic way.

The small town antics of their hometown were oh so much fun, along with their meddling mothers. I truly enjoyed the social media updates that followed the events of the town or the main characters throughout this book. Knox and Brynn's friend group was so fun and encouraging for them, and I am excited for more from this group as the series continues.

Hometown Touchdown is one of the best new books that I've come across this year! Breezy and romantic, it is book that I couldn't put down. The story of Brynn and Knox is so sweet with the small town of Cedar Falls providing the perfect setting. Six years have passed since Brynn ended their relationship as Knox left for the NFL and now he is the high school football coach and Brynn is returning home with a broken heart at the hands of an ex-fiancé.

Knox is the perfect combination of sweet and confidence with a dirty mouth. Even though his football dreams didn't come true, Knox never stopped being a caring person with an incredible heart. He was gentle and incredibly observant. It truly showed as you watched him interact with the high school students that he is coaching. Brynn was a refreshing FMC who deserves so much happiness. Sharp-minded, funny, bold, & filled with sarcasm that had me laughing so hard. I love that time was given for her to heal from her pain. I love how Knox and Brynn reconnected and knew what she always needed as they reconnected.

What I didn't think expect was how big of a part the setting of Cedar Falls would play in this novel. The town hasn't changed beyond the years that both the main characters have been away. The town has a cozy feel but with gossipy neighbors and reading enjoyable high school moments - both past and present- was so enjoyable because it's something that I don't see often in past novels.

I highly recommend this book if you love football/coach romances with a blend of second chance. Despite the separation, Knox and Brynn had such a healthy relationship and a beautiful reconciliation. Knowing this is only book one, I can't wait to return to Cedar Falls!

Thank you to Jocelyn Jacobs and Luna Literary for the opportunity to read an eARC of this book!

Hometown Touchdown is a heartfelt, low-angst second-chance romance that delivers all the charm of small-town gossip, emotional healing, and the slow rekindling of a love that never really faded. Brynn and Knox were high school sweethearts whose dreams pulled them in different directions, but the moment Brynn returns to Cedar Falls, their chemistry sparks right back to life. Their reunion feels warm and deeply rooted, never rushed or forced, and the storytelling blends nostalgia with the reality of who they’ve become as adults. From the very first chapter, the tone is comforting—like slipping back into a place you once called home.

Brynn’s infertility journey is written with tenderness and authenticity, giving her character layers of vulnerability and strength. Her return isn’t just about facing her past—it’s about rediscovering the pieces of herself she had to set aside. Knox is the perfect counterpart to her growth. Steady, reassuring, and emotionally grounded, he’s the kind of hero who shows up with actions, not empty words. His dedication—to his team, to his community, and especially to Brynn—makes their slow-burn reconnection feel rewarding and genuinely romantic. Their relationship is built on honest conversations, personal growth, and a shared love that simply refused to fade.

The supporting cast brings Cedar Falls to life with humor, warmth, and just enough meddling to keep things fun. From town Facebook drama to well-meaning family moments, every side character adds richness without overshadowing Brynn and Knox’s love story. As the first book in a new series, Hometown Touchdown sets the tone beautifully—cozy, heartfelt, and emotionally satisfying. It’s the kind of small-town romance that feels like a soft landing, perfect for readers who love second chances, real-life challenges, and swoon-worthy heroes who never stopped caring.

ARC Review

I forgot that I had this book to read....I was trying to get organized and couldn't remember getting this book. So I opened it and within 10 sentences I was hooked. I had to know what was going to happen to Brynn and more importantly how she would handle it. Twenty four hours later I'm writing this review.
Brynn and Knox were high school sweethearts. Brynn goes away to college, leaving Knox to his NFL career. Six years later, Brynn is engaged to someone else who breaks it off weeks before the wedding. His excuse? That her not being able to have children is more than he signed up for. Oh the cuss words floating around in my head. Brynn goes home.
Knox played quarterback in the NFL for 3 years before a devastating injury ends his career. Now he's back in his hometown and coaching the high school team.
Brynn and Knox's first meeting doesn't end well. He's really a jerk to her and so he ends up covered in beer. It was a great moment for our girl, Brynn.
Hometown Touchdown is set in a small town in Virginia. Gossip rules. Friday night lights are the thing to do. There's really no room to avoid seeing people you may not want to see.
You go apartment shopping and end up renting the spot next to your ex...who is also your landlord.
This book made me smile. I kept waiting for something terrible to happen, for a misunderstanding....but what I got was so much better. Brynn and Knox have chemistry and banter. They are honest with each other. And it's so refreshing.
Jocelyn Jacobs wrote a winner and I almost didn't read it....what a shame that would have been. Thanks to her and Luna Literary for the ARC....I promise I won't forget about the next one! I'm hooked!

This book will move you in ways that you may not expect. It will have you laughing out loud at the quirky characters and fall in love with the small town of Cedar Falls.

I took my time reading Hometown Touchdown as struggling with fertility troubles personally i knew i may of struggled with parts of the book, but it was written about in such a perfect way that i never felt uncomfortable or really overwhelmed while reading those sections. My struggle is very different but it is still the same feelings and sadness behind the struggle.

I absolutely loved Brynne and Knox. They had banter, a very serious history and better than that their love never faded. Even though they both assumed it had. I love that they didn’t jump back into a relationship, they needed to get to know each other again as adults and i really appreciated that part of the book. It was never forced or quick.

The respect that Knox has for Brynne especially when she opens up to him about why she left him previously to then her infertility, just showed how much he was willing to love her for who she is. No matter what their future looked like.

Their friends and family were such great additions to their story as they added such good quirky commentary to their lives. The mums were classic small town mums but with no resentment towards Brynne or Knox.

The ending with the coat closet had me laughing as i could sense something like that happening and i really hope that means we will see more of those two… possibly in the next book! Fingers crossed!

Really happy that i was able to read this in advance and I can’t wait to see what else happens next and for everyone to fall in love with this book.

This book I have given 4.5 Stars out of 5. This book really had a good romance feel and I enjoyed the storyline. Brynn has the sass of a woman that knows how to take care of herself. Knox is a grumpy hometown football coach. Brynn walks back into his life after a breakup across the country. The first time that he sees her is at a Friday night high school football game. After the game she goes to the local bar to hangout, when she walks in she sees him. He’s a total jerk to her and she tosses a glass of beer in his face. Welcome home! He tries to act all mean to her during this conflict, but really he is trying to hide his heart. She ends up moving next door to him, which neither knew the other lived next door. However, he is the landlord and owns it. He tries to get her to move out but she wont go.
When she gets sick he feels like it his responsibility to make sure that she is taken care of. She doesn’t really know what that is like since her last relationship wasn’t like that. From there, their relationship grows again and they find that neither one of them actually ever stopped loving the other. Their bond grows and grows. They see each other as the person that they are meant to be with. He is her support when she tells him that she isn’t able to have children and that he doesn’t care about that. He said that it’s part of her and he loves all of her. This story was very enjoyable, and was easy to read. I like that it was more “real” than some of the books that I have read where its almost like the story is too good to be true. I definitely would recommend this book if you are looking for a down to earth hometown romance story.

Thanks so much Jocelyn Jacobs and Luna Literary Management for the book. I was given this book as an advance review copy (ARC) for free, and I am leaving this review completely voluntarily.

This was such a cute small-town football romance. Yes, I’m absolutely calling it a football romance, even though our MMC isn’t an active player anymore. He used to play and now he’s coaching at the local high school. As soon as I read the blurb, I couldn’t resist requesting this ARC. If you don’t know already, I’m a football girlie through and through, and I grew up in a small town, so this kind of story just calls to me.

The author really nailed the small-town vibes here - the sense of community, the nosy neighbors, and the constant town gossip (which was honestly scarily accurate and had me laughing the whole time). I can never resist a good dual POV, and this one definitely delivered. Their banter was so fun and full of those little inside jokes that make you feel like you’re right there with them.

I also loved the found family dynamic. It added so much warmth to the story. The FMC has been through a rough ride, and I was so relieved that there wasn’t a third-act breakup. Was it a little predictable? Sure. But it was the kind of cozy, feel-good predictable that makes you smile rather than roll your eyes. This book made me stay up way too late reading, and I don’t regret a second of it.

Happy reading friends,
~ Maebae 💚

I’m a fellow book lover reviewing the good, the bad, and everything bookish in-between. All thoughts, opinions, and reactions are completely my own. I wasn’t paid, sponsored, or influenced in any way.

Hometown Touchdown

(Hearts on the Sidelines # 1)

by Jocelyn Jacobs

Tropes:
🏈Football Coach/Neighbors
🌷Second Chance
🏈Small Town romance
🌷They Fall Together
🏈Grumpy x Sunshine
🌷Infertility Rep

What a great debut novel by this author.

A beautiful second chance romance.

That shows how love can be worth of fighting for.
That no matter where you go, love can still find you.
And that soul mates can be real.

It has lovely side characters (I feel deeply that Cam and Kate deserve their story) and that small town charm is a real thing.

Thank you to the author and Luna Literary for this ARC.

---

some my favorite quotes:

Of course she's still beautiful. Of course she's still stubborn. Of course she still knows exactly how to get under my skin.

"He called me Bunny."
"Oh. Damn."
"Said it like he still had the right to."
"Did you hate it?"
"I hate that I didn't."

“I miss sharing fries. And sex. But mostly fries.”

“You make me insane.”

"you snuck right back under my skin, and I don’t know how the hell to get you out.”

“I want to kiss you, Bunny.”

It’s not a kiss - it’s a firestorm.

She’s kissing me like I ruined her. Like I broke her heart and she wants to break mine back. Like she’s furious and feral and desperate - and I can’t lie, I fucking love it.

I’m gone for him. Stupidly, recklessly, irrevocably gone.

"You were never a footnote in my story, Brynn. You were the whole damn plot."

"To me you're everything. You always have been."

“Same Town. Same Script.”

If you like a small town second chance romance then Knox and Brynn are for you. Their story is a perfect fall read with the small town football vibe and the sweet golden retriever sidekick.
Brynn is returning home after her fiancé left her due to her medical diagnosis. Even knowing going home means she has to reunite with a past she thought she could leave. Knox is the High School Football coach who returned home after an injury cost him his pro career. His team is not looking great and mixing with the love of his life returning home he is in a spiral.
When these two connect you can feel the pain and the push and pull to fall back into old habits.
The town is a bit nosey and the facebook post are always fun to see. This also causes them to stay on the side of caution with their relationship. Low angst high reward cannot wait for more of this town especially Cam’s story. Definitely curious about Kate and Evie.

~~What to Expect~~
🏈Small Town
🏈High School Football Coach
🏈Second Chance
🏈Returning Home
🏈Grumpy X Sunshine
🏈Infertility Rep
🏈Neighbors
🏈No 3rd Act Break Up
🏈Forced Proximity

~~Quotes~~
🩷Knox Dalton was always the best thing about this town and now he’s the hardest.
🩷Loving her once nearly wrecked me. I won’t make the mistake of handing her the pieces just so she can walk away with them again.
🩷 I would’ve walked through anything with you. I wanted your mess, your doubts, your dreams even the ones you hadn’t figured out yet. I didn’t need you to be certain I just needed you.
🩷You’re meant to be mine.

I would like to start out by saying thank you to Jocelyn Jacobs and Luna Literary Management for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Did I expect myself to finish this in one sitting? Absolutely not but I ate this up! The storyline was quick and entertaining. Jocelyn wrote a truly heartfelt romance novel that had me going from giggling to sobbing.

Brynn comes home after the ending of her engagement. Her and Knox are reunited after 6 years apart when he becomes her landlord and things take off from there. This gave the perfect small town vibes where when you come home…. everyone knows… and everyone knows immediately. This book reminded me a lot of my hometown so this felt really special. I loved it so much.

Brynn and Knox’s banter was phenomenally done and it kicked up early on. Their chemistry felt so unmatched 🔥🔥. Like Knox was such a caring and observant MMC while Brynn had a feisty and had strong personality… they complimented each other really well and their relationship felt extremely healthy.

Jocelyn did a great job writing real and raw characters. Their emotions felt like they were bleeding off of the page. Like with how Knox felt when he saw Brynn for the first time or how Brynn had her life flipped around on her (I don’t want to give away any spoilers). They laughed? I laughed. They cried? I cried.

This felt like the perfect introduction to this series. I can’t wait to see what is in store for Cam in the next book 😇.

Would I suggest this to a friend? Yes. Would I reread? Yes. Would I like a trophy? Yes.

A new to me author and what a pleasant surprise! I really enjoyed this one! (it would also be so good on audio!) Cedar Falls gave me all the cozy, small-town vibes of Hart of Dixie, but with football, heartbreak, and two former high school sweethearts who are impossible not to root for. Six years after Brynn ended things, she returns home following a broken engagement, only to discover that Knox, the man she left behind, is now her new landlord. Sparks fly immediately, and the chemistry between them is undeniable as old wounds and lingering feelings resurface.

Knox is the ultimate book boyfriend: sweet, sexy, loyal, observant, and endlessly caring. Even when his dreams didn’t go as planned, his heart remained massive and kind. Brynn is refreshing, bold, sarcastic, and full of life; despite the pain of her past and a medical diagnosis that forces her to re-evaluate everything, she never loses her strength or sense of humor. Together, they navigate second chances with tenderness, patience, and a chemistry that sizzles.

The small-town antics and meddling townsfolk added layers of charm and humor, making Cedar Falls feel alive and welcoming. While it took me a minute to get into it, once the story clicked, I was completely invested, watching Brynn and Knox rebuild their relationship, communicate honestly, and rediscover love was a pure delight.

This is a perfect feel-good, swoony, second-chance romance with a healthy balance of heart, humor, and heat. I'll be excited to make a return to Cedar Falls.

e-ARC Review: 𝙃𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙘𝙝𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣

5/5 ⭐
2.5/5 🌶️

This was a perfect second chance story. High School sweethearts, Brynn and Knox, torn apart and brought back together at the perfect time. I was hooked from the dedication and couldn't put it down until the last word of the epilogue.

It was clear from the first time they laid eyes on each other after six years that the feelings they thought were long gone, were very much still there.
Their chemistry and banter had me giggling the whole time. And oh man, when they finally give in to the pull I was swooning so hard.

Knox Dalton is utter perfection. After finding out about Brynn's infertility diagnosis, the way he reassures her and shows her that she is more than enough, that she is his everything....I was in a puddle on the floor. And the spice...the mouths on these two...I was sweating. So so good!

Oh and Priscilla, Knox's golden retriever, stole the whole show. The way she instantly fell in love with Brynn was so freaking cute! I seriously just loved it all so much!

Jocelyn gave us the sweetest most heartwarming story. And the way she handled the sensitive topic of infertility was so beautiful. I'm so happy a friend recommended this book!

The meddling moms, supportive and hilarious friends, and noisy townsfolk have me so excited for what's to come!

My favorite romance trope has always been the brother’s best friend (or something along those lines), but I think the second chance trope is quickly becoming my new favorite. There’s just something about bringing new life to an old relationship that gives me all the feels.

There were so many things I loved about Hometown Touchdown by Jocelyn Jacobs. The angst between Knox and Brynn when she first returns to Cedar Falls had me completely hooked—I didn’t want to put the book down! One of my favorite moments was the bar scene where Brynn gets territorial over Knox when someone asks him to dance. I absolutely loved that scene because it flipped the usual dynamic; typically, it's the guy being protective, but here it was Brynn standing her ground, and it was everything.

And then there are the side characters. I loved how the entire friend group acted like surrogate aunts and uncles to Evie—it made the story feel warm and grounded. Brynn’s friendship with her girlfriends was another highlight. Even after six years apart, they picked up right where they left off, just like my own high school friend group. It felt so real and relatable.

I highly recommend this book if you're looking for an easy, heartwarming read and a little escape from everyday life.

Thank you to Jocelyn Jacobs and the Luna Literary team for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. I loved it and can’t wait to see what happens next in Cedar Falls!
