For fans of the bestselling Amazing Machines series, this is a perfect way for young children to learn all about colors in a bright and engaging way, with their favorite zippy machines!
A satisfactory "share" for little ones, but not particularly successful with the nouns used for the target age group (0 - 3). The adjectives (colors) are clear enough but the illustrated submarine is pure fantasy and picturing a large truck tire as a "wheel" was also confusing. The white car is actually a jeep and considering there is also a purple car on another page it was a wasted opportunity for vocabulary. The truck pictured is more accurately a dump truck, so why not call it that? There is a "digger" and a "bucket" which both should have either been excluded or more accurately labeled.
All that being said, Tony Mitton does a great job with his non-fiction 8x8 books and I'm sure his fans cheered for these 5x5 board books (colors, numbers, opposites, and sounds).
