K. E. Andersen

A certified nursing assistant by night and an author by... also night, because who needs sleep when you’ve got a deadline and emotionally unstable fictional characters to deal with? He writes fantasy and fiction—mostly historical, always dramatic—and firmly believes that weaponised banter should be a literary genre of its own.

When not emotionally devastating his cast of warlords and rebels, he can be found eating his body weight in olives, losing arguments with Google Maps, or insisting that writing counts as cardio. He lives somewhere in Norway, surrounded by fjords, chaos, and increasingly concerned neighbours.

✅MM Romance
✅Greek Mythology
✅Historical Fantasy

So I normally don’t read this type of book, nor do I even know a whole lot about Greek mythology. But this author does a wonderful job of making the story and mythology accessible for people who are new to the genre.

I looooveedddd following Helios and Leo on this odyssey. The heartbreak, the love, and the adventure were palpable within these pages, and once the story starts picking up….. boy, does it PICK UP! This book is easily bingeable, and I read half of it in one sitting. BUT the cliffhanger at the end made me want to throw the book out the window 😭 I NEED MORE! AND GIVE ME MORE LEO PLS!!!

I read an ARC of this book.

I immediately felt captivated by this story, it was an immersive and evocative read. This author excels in worldbuilding; the world almost feels like a character in itself. There is a nice balance between romance, war, politics, and action in this book, which I appreciate. The MLM love story is beautiful and well written.

The characters are raw, deeply flawed, and completely addictive to follow. You’ll fall for the morally grey ones, root for the reckless ones, and possibly cry over the ones you didn’t expect to care about. There are plot twists, gut punches, tender moments, and absolutely savage dialogue and banter. Also… the sibling dynamics? Chef’s kiss.

If you like dark mythological fantasy with poetic prose, political intrigue, and slow-burning heartbreak, this one’s for you. I already need the sequel.

Okay, how dare you? That cliffhanger??? How. Dare. You. How am I supposed to wait who knows how long to see what happens??? This was such a fun ride, and I absolutely adored it and can't WAIT for the next book. As a Percy Jackson kid, it feels like that for adults in the very best way. The bits with the gods watching like the characters were their Sims were just great- they were kind of amusing but added so much depth. I just loved this and would really recommend this to anyone who enjoys mythology or mythology retellings. I'm hoping my library will be able to buy a copy, because I can think of several of my patrons who would like this!.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Son of Hyperion is not only full of adventure, love, and action, it is humorous, vivid, and hopeful.

Uhh talk about plot twist!! Seeing the story all come together was soo satisfying and had me gasping in shock and turning back to see how I missed anything!!

K.E. Andersen has a gorgeous way of describing the Greek world. I highlighted so many portions that I absolutely loved!!

The characters are likable, relatable, and unique! I especially loveee Helios!!

I appreciated the callback to the prequel as well! Seeing Leo grow from the prequel and throughout SoH was such a treat!

I really enjoyed the scenes with the gods as well! They showed how involved the gods were in the lives of mortals and just how merciless they could be.

Outstanding!!!! Freaking AMAZING book and story!! I adore Greek mythology but sometimes it can feel repetitive. I didnt feel that way with Helios and Leo's story. I actually enjoyed their characters and how it all came about. The heartbreak, love, and sense of adventure leaped off the page and had me hooked from the beginning! I almost finished this in one sitting. Only reason I put it down was real life got in the way. The pacing made a 500 page book feel like a 200 page book. I cant wait to see what else is next. The writing, descriptions, everything was amazing

Im not much of a reader, but this book is something else. Typically I get bored so easily while reading, but when I read this book I was hooked! When I first started reading, the hours and chapters flew by. I have always been interested in Ancient Greece and Greek mythology, so when I got my hands on a ARC of this book I was in heaven! Never read a book this fast - not even my curriculum books. To say I recommend this book would be an understatement! Can't wait for the next one!
