And I can understand speaking acronyms when someone is used to using them as shortcuts in writing or texting, which then get utilized in speech. But I can't see DF arising as a shortcut way of saying "Dead F*cks" if someone has not become accustomed to it via texting. Why would anyone take a chance of not being understood? In speaking, both would be two syllables.
