No! Bad! STOP!

Stop inflicting this AI-generated garbage on children!

It's absolute slop. There is no human agency in this, nothing but prompting AI to generate rhyming stanzas with an emphasis on words that start with the featured letter and animal for that page. Are they good rhymes? NO! They don't make a lick of sense half the time, they do nothing to evoke the featured animal.

For example, regarding the armadillo:
She paints with apricots and air,
And hangs her art with greatest care.
An apron tied around her waist,
She adds an acorn just for taste.
NONE OF THIS MEANS ANYTHING AT ALL, and it has no connection to the stanzas before or after. It is literally nothing more than a random selection of words. What, of all the potential purposes of reading or poetry, is this supposed to fulfill? Poetry is an art form, and poetry for children requires the greatest level of care. It can convey wonder, whimsy, silliness (which is entirely different from random nonsense), teach, spark joy, and inspire. Take, for example, a REAL poem, the first in Poetry Speaks to Children by Sourcebooks MediaFusion,2005 : The First Book by Rita Dove:
Open it.

Go ahead, it won't bite.
Well... maybe a little.

More a nip, like. A tingle.
It's pleasurable, really.

You see, it keeps on opening.
You may fall in.

Sure, it's hard to get started;
remember learning to use

knife and fork? Dig in:
You'll never reach the bottom.

It's not like it's the end of the world—
just the world as you think

you know it.
Isn't that glorious? Believe me, reading this to your child is a moving experience. This book was gifted to my child by a great-aunt who is herself a published poet. Poetry is full of emotion and can accomplish much. Whatever AI-generated garbage Denhartog insists on continuing to churn out accomplishes nothing except causing bile to backwash up my throat.

Denhartog has done this all before with Alphabet Dragons, Alphabet Fairies, The Alphabet Mysteries, and The Alphabet Adventures, all filled with AI slop, over a year ago. I don't know what prompted him to add to this cesspool of an oeuvre, except that he's clearly long ran out of ideas for what to prompt generative AI to "create" for him to sell as if he's produced anything of value.

It is incredibly sad that a grown adult needed AI to write a children's book about the alphabet. The ecological impact of the AI used to make this book probably killed at least one of the animals in it. :(

Denhartog's 45th book of 2025. Yes, 45th. Made with AI.

He seems to fill his lulls by stooping to the easy targets--young readers. Usually something involving the alphabet and/or animals. I would never expose my children to his works and behaviors.

fantastic companion to learning your alphabet for bed time reading or a great book for kids to work on words that start with each letter
