This is my first read by this author and I am pleasantly impressed.
I went in with very few expectations on purpose. I wanted a feel-good story, and lately I’ve been really drawn to books with real people on the cover. This has quickly become the book I reach for in the morning with my Italian/Colombian coffee and espresso. It’s part of my morning regulation currently, and that alone says a lot. It just feels good.
After reading the first spicy scene, I had to stop and report back because…
THAT is how you do tension. THAT is what buildup looks like. THAT is what foreplay between characters looks like. Nothing was rushed or forced. It wasn’t this lustful, insatiable thing thrown at you for shock value. When I thought something might get cringey, it never peaked. Honestly, the author could teach a class on how to build tension and desire without overdoing it.
What I’m really enjoying so far:
- The author’s use of descriptors and adjectives is immaculate.
- The language is balanced beautifully. Not too complicated, not lazy or overly simple.
- Words that avid readers may be used to are used naturally and intentionally. Phrases like “modelesque” instead of overexplaining physical detail, or “divulged” instead of “told.” It’s pleasing to the imagination without being try-hard.
- It reflects modern culture without catering to TikTok language or trends. It still feels grown and sexy.
- There are subtle cultural and societal observations woven into dialogue effortlessly.
For example: 1. Conversations around transparency in dating.
2. How men and women are socialized differently and how that shapes how we perceive love and relationships.
I’m excited to keep going. Will definitely report back. ✨

This is my second book by Aries Skye, and once again, she delivered a captivating romance with just the right amount of drama! Love on Board swept me away with its mix of humor, heart, and emotional depth.
Aquila Richards-Oliver is a relatable heroine, rebuilding her life after a painful divorce, while Roman Patterson is the perfect mix of charming, guarded, and irresistible. Their chemistry on the singles cruise is electric, and I loved seeing their slow-burn connection develop against all the personal obstacles they face.
Who doesn’t love a story where romance meets drama, sparks fly, and characters get a second chance at love? This book had me smiling, swooning, and fully invested from start to finish. Aries Skye is definitely an auto-buy author for me!

I was able to read an advanced copy and I can not wait until it's officially released to talk about it. Aries Skye has done it again!! If you haven't read Love On The Ninth Floor and Love On The Rebound I suggest doing so prior to.
This story follows Aqulia and Roman and their journey. Roman is most definitely bookbae. There's a lot of things that are talked about so I do advise taking those trigger warnings serious prior to reading. I found so much of myself within Aqulia as I did with the other sisters. There are updates on them and their loves as well. I could not put this book down at all. I hate that the series has come to an end however it's such a good end. Thank you Aries Skye, Netgalley, & Black Odyssey Media for the advanced copy.

The final installment in the Love On series—and whew 😮💨 I could not wait to finally get into Big Sis Aquila. From the previous books, she definitely came off as the judgmental big sister who kept her personal life locked tight. But there were small glimpses here and there that had me curious about her backstory… and baby, Aries did NOT disappoint.
That prologue though??? 😳 Aries came out SWINGING. I already didn’t like Joel from the little bits we saw in the earlier books, but after this??? Oh, I cannot stand that man. If it’s one thing a man will always have, it’s the audacity.
This was a second-chance at love done RIGHT. Hands down my favorite book in the series.
And listen… that Reba song—
🎶 “A single mom who works too hard, who loves her kids and never stops…” 🎶
—that song immediately came to mind when I think about Angela.
She endured so much—her marriage, the divorce, a manipulative husband, and an even worse family—but despite all of that, she still got her chance at love again. And with Roman at that! 😂 I was genuinely shocked because didn’t he swear he wanted NONE of that Richard girls’ “water magic”??? 🤣🤣🤣 Look at him now.
Roman was a TRUE man. I absolutely fell in love with his character—the way he loved Angela, protected her, and stood ten toes down for her. And that mouth?? ZERO filter 😮💨 What. A. Man. 🥰🥰
I love a good sibling/family series, and Love On delivered exactly that—entertaining, funny, sweet, spicy, and filled with so much romance. A perfect way to close out the series.

After reading getting some glimpses of Aquila in Nissi and Angela's books, I was anticipating this book and it did not disappoint. Both Aquila and Roman are looking for something new after going through the situations they went through, her with her ex-husband and him with the dating scene, After some convincing from their friends they sign up to go on a singles cruise which neither of them are aware the other is on until she bumps into him, The story goes on from there and what starts out innocently at first as just two friends hanging out, becomes something more. Roman has always been interested in Aquila but didn't act on it for obvious reasons but now that she is single and ready to mingle he definitely went for it.
First it was nice seeing Aquila let loose on the cruise since she was always such a structured person. It was also nice how they were both willing to compromise for the other while they were on board and seemed genuinely interested in learning more about the other one even before they hit the sheets. When they were sexually involved, the sex scenes did what they were supposed to do. Once they got back from the cruise, "real life" kicked in and some things occurred that caused a little break in their on board activities but eventually Aquila came around and I was happy when she did. The fact that they were able to be open and honest with each other once they decided to date was nice to see because communication is key in any relationship.
Joel was annoying and a hot mess but I was happy with the way he turned out in the end. Seeing all the different layers ad nuisances to Roman's life I was like well okay. He was such a romantic and I liked that he supported Aquila in her endeavors and wanted to see her succeed. It was also nice seeing Roman forming a stronger bond with Aquila's sons. I enjoyed the book overall and when I got to the end I was like well not wait a minute but I was so happy to see there was a bonus.

Aquila has finally released the dead weight known as Joel Oliver 🙌🏽. She’s divorced, raising her boys, and running a small catering side hustle while trying to rediscover herself. With some encouragement from her sisters, she agrees to step outside her comfort zone and go on a singles cruise.
Meanwhile, Roman is in his feelings. Now that Aquila is divorced, he’s trying to figure out how to finally make a move. Over the years, they’ve built a strong friendship, and Roman has formed a genuine bond with Aquila’s kids. Still, he hasn’t quite found the courage to cross that line—until one of his close friends and a trainer at Kinro Fitness pushes him to take the same cruise as a reset.
And then… boom. They literally run into each other.
They decide to spend the week together, really getting to know one another, and the connection only deepens. My first 5⭐️ read of 2026! My pearls were clutched and jaw slacked from the beginning until the very end. There were audible gasp, feet kicking and punching in the air. From the discoveries of Joel to the audacity of Joel, this storyline took me through it. Even the babies played a role in the emotions felt in the book. This was so well written, the usual tropes or contents i usually hate in books were important catalysts to move the plot in the right direction. Roman is that man! His patience, care, and openness (despite his need for privacy) made him the perfect guy for Qui and her boys. Im glad Aquila gave love a second chance. Also i loved the references to @Kevonstage, Reyna Roberts, and other black music artist and celebrities. Dear @ariesskye_ I hope you got to take a cruise for research purposes while writing this book. If not, a cruise would be a much deserved reward for the release of this gem. And while on said cruise I hope you get what Roman did to Aquila on the ship, the resort room, the Roadride & everywhere in between!!! Baby girl you did that. The scene between Joel & Roman in the conference room is enough for this one to be adapted into film. Please shop it. Congrats on the release tomorrow! What a story. I really enjoyed Angela and Kinston's story. I love Aquila and Roman. This novel addresses some heavy issues-divorce, gaslighting, sexual identify, co-parenting, and finding yourself and your voice after a difficult situation.
Aquila is divorced from Joel for 2 years when this novels starts. Roman is no longer dealing with Nia but still single. After a bad date and needing some time away, Roman goes on a singles cruise. This is the same cruise that Aquila is encouraged to go on. Once these two get together, the sparks start flying. It also helps that Roman has a crush on Aquila but was respectable because she was married.
After the cruise, that's where the issues kick it. Joel wanting to reconcile because of this father's expectation on relationships (Joel's bisexual but really he's gay).
My favorite scenes.
Aquila and Roman in the clubs and all their excursions on the cruise.
Aquila checking Joel and his daddy.
Roman meeting the boys in the boyfriend role and him having a one on one conversation with Joel Jr.
Roman checking Joel after him and his daddy thinking this man was beneath them. Roman's and his family are multimillionaires.
Aquila and boys meeting Roman's family and Sante's reaction to Roman's sister CYN. You find out she's a supermodel. He has to be reminded she was his new aunt.

Love on Board by Aries Skye is the kind of romance that sweeps you up from the very first chapter and doesn’t let go. Aquila and Roman are two characters who feel real, complex, and irresistibly magnetic—exactly what you want in a slow-burn, chemistry-packed love story.
Aquila is strong, sharp-witted, and determined to protect her peace. Roman is charming but layered, carrying a quiet depth that makes every scene with him feel electric. When the two end up on the same cruise, their connection unfolds with the perfect mix of tension, flirtation, and emotional vulnerability. Aries Skye does a beautiful job balancing humor, heat, and heartfelt moments, making their journey feel both relatable and exciting.
The cruise-ship setting adds so much flavor—sunset views, island stops, late-night conversations, and the kind of close-quarters proximity that keeps the sparks flying. What really stands out, although the cruise was seven days, I enjoyed how both characters grow individually while growing closer to each other.

I’ve received an ARC of the book from NetGalley. I was actually surprised that Aquila was getting a book of her own since she was married in books 1&2. To see that she’s divorced in the beginning of the book and the reason why I was definitely not expecting!! After being talked into taking a vacation by her sisters and friends she ends up on a singles cruise. Roman the co-owner of the gym with Kinston is a self proclaimed playboy and is not looking for marriage or kids is called out by his friend/employee that she noticed he has a thing for Aquila. Since he doesn’t want to go there with his best friend’s sister in law he is also talked into going on a singles cruise. They see each other on the first night there and decide to enjoy the trip together as friends. Each day they enjoy each other’s company and their friendship starts to develop into something more than neither of them expected. The chemistry is through the roof and they take it to the next level but agree to a vacation fling only! Well on the last day there Roman tells her he wants to explore more but an unexpected event causes them to take 10 steps back. Once they are home they go through a push and pull for a while and see if it’s worth exploring! I was pleasantly surprised by this book and really enjoyed it!

This book is definitely going down as one of my top reads of 2026. I'm still feeling warm, fuzzy, and strssed from the emotional journey. 📖🥰✨
First off let us talk about Dr. Patterson!!! That man showed growth in this book! Seeing his evolution from the start to the end was incredibly satisfying and made him so much more relatable. 🩺❤️
Aquila was such a strong woman through all the trials and tribulations that she endured. Her resilience really anchored the story and made me root for her starting from the first chapter! 💪🏾 Yes, the author doesn't wait to get down to the drama!
I enjoyed watching the relationship blossom between Aquila and Roman. The pacing felt very natural and the chemistry was adorable. Watching them navigate their connection while dealing with their individual baggage was both heart wrenching and beautiful. 🌹
My Final Thoughts 💭
Aries Skye had me clutching my pearls and my heart while keeping me completely addicted to the plot. The way the author handles the heavy moments with such grace is what makes this story stand out. I loved how the setting on the cruise boat added that extra layer of tension and forced the characters to really face their feelings. It was not just a romance novel. It was a deep dive into how people heal when they finally let the right person in. 🌟📚

First off let us talk about Dr. Patterson!!! That man showed growth in this book! Seeing his evolution from the start to the end was incredibly satisfying and made him so much more relatable. 🩺❤️
Aquila was such a strong woman through all the trials and tribulations that she endured. Her resilience really anchored the story and made me root for her starting from the first chapter! 💪🏾 Yes, the author doesn't wait to get down to the drama!
I enjoyed watching the relationship blossom between Aquila and Roman. The pacing felt very natural and the chemistry was adorable. Watching them navigate their connection while dealing with their individual baggage was both heart wrenching and beautiful. 🌹

Aries Skye had me clutching my pearls and my heart while keeping me completely addicted to the plot. The way the author handles the heavy moments with such grace is what makes this story stand out. Love on Board was an okay, and one-time type of read for me. This is a standalone story but if you've read the other standalone "Love On" books from this author we were introduced to Aquila, Joel and Roman in her sister's books. Aquila walks into Joel doing something that is unforgivable and after being married to him for years that betrayal is the last straw. Roman has wanted Aquila for some time now and when he gets the opportunity to follow his heart, he goes all in. Joel and his family aren't making things easy, but when it comes to matters of the heart Roman will do whatever it takes to keep the woman he loves. This story has secrets, betrayal, threats, uncertainty, mention of abortion, steamy scenes, romance, jealousy, laugh out loud moments and more. However, the pace of the story was one of the things that hurt this story for me because it was just so slow. I also wish that I felt more "love" between the two main characters. The connection and attraction were there but there was just something that was missing for me. This was an okay read, but I enjoyed Nissi and Angela stories more.

Love on Board by Aries Skye follows Aquila. She is a mom, a budding entrepreneur, sister and a woman that is recently divorced. Her sisters encourage her to go on a singles cruise to have some fun. While on this cruise she bumps into Roman, who she already knows, and they become vacation accountability partners. They spend a lot of time together on this cruise and when it’s over they try to figure out what their relationship is going to look like once they leave the ship.
What I loved about this book was the depiction of sisterhood and friendship. I love when authors surround their main characters with a village that’s solid and supportive. I also loved how she painted a realistic picture of what dating after a divorce with children could look like.
This book was well written and left me wanting more. I really wish the author included the bonus information in the epilogue to make the book feel more complete.
Overall, I enjoyed reading this book. It's the third book in a sister series, but it can definitely be read as a standalone. I can't wait to read Love on the Ninth Floor and Love on the Rebound, as well as other books in her catalog.

Well, well, well, this was my first read by the author Aries Skye, and I must say, she did a great job. Now, I have to go back and read the other two books featuring these other sisters as well because I absolutely loved Romans and Aquila’s story. This book was so funny, spicy, and yes, messy too. One thing for sure is that I was rooting for our FMC because she was a woman who was trying to find her identity and love herself after sacrificing so much for her husband. As their marriage dissolved, we found out the reasons why, and let me just say, she took the high road so many times when I would’ve gone low. Roman, our MMC, has this reputation as player , but really, he’s just very intentional with his time and who he chooses to indulge with because of secrets he has hidden about his real identity. So yeah, we get some twists here too. This story has some friends to lovers as well as a little vacation hook up, and then also the forbidden romance trope. Their story kept me pulled in the whole time and there were certain things that I was not expecting, but I will say Roman is definitely a book bae for me. This book had drama and love all in one and I enjoyed it. Aquila was wrapped so tight that I cheered out loud when she finally allowed herself to let loose. Initially, she got on my nerves a little but considering everything she was dealing with it, I felt empathy towards her character. She was in survival mode raising her kids as a single Mom and dealing her with crappy ex-husband. However, when Aquila and Roman finally admitted their attraction to one another and interest in pursuing a relationship … Aquila was finally able to experience, in some aspects, a softer side of life. I was rooting for Aquila the whole book and I loved Roman for her. He did not come to play and stood on business, even when the future of their relationship was uncertain. This book had the perfect balance of drama, romance, starting over after divorce, close knit family and friends. If any of these sound good to you, I highly recommend this book.

This was a first read by this author for me as I've seen her other books on social media. Love on Board begins with an explosive prologue and then we return two years later to post Aquila and Joel's divorce. Joel sure knew how to continually bring the drama! Roman is business partners and best friends with her middle sister Angela's husband. So he's been around Aquila for years and had developed a crush on her although she was obviously is a failing marriage. They run into each other on a singles cruise and Roman vows to show her he's the one (reforming from his play boy no relationship ways). Aquila has some reservations about dating Roman but follows her heart anyway.
I enjoyed this book and the spice level was great since she hadn't had any in three years and boy did she get the ride of her life. This is a stand alone interconnected book and I'll be going back to read the prior sister's stories as well.

Omg let me tell you - this was the perfect end to the Richards sisters trilogy! I was excited to get to know Qui and to get to know her under her tough shell (which was totally warranted). While this book is kinda an interconnected standalone, I would highly recommend reading Love on the Ninth Floor and Love on the Rebound first! I think it give just enough context and insight into Aquila's life that is the perfect Segway into Love on Board.
This book was so captivating and hooked me in at the first couple of pages to be honest. I mean it had drama, romance, slow burn connections, building of trust, a GROWN man standing on business about his lady, and blush worthy sex. I was so invested in getting to know Roman better and he was YEARNING like the best of them.

I’ve received an ARC of the book from NetGalley. This is the first book I've read by Aries Skye. I later found out that there are other books in this series, so I'm excited to go back and read those. I really enjoyed Love on Board! I liked the way Roman loved Aquila from a far and always managed to take care of her in some small way. Aqulia on the other hand waited a little late to stand up for herself with that low down husband/ex-husband of hers. I think once she saw the huge red flag from the start, she should have never married him. I'm glad things worked out for her, and she allowed Roman to truly love her the way she deserved to be loved. The way Roman handled Joel was the chef's kiss for me!
This is a great book with some good spicy scenes, now I'm off to read the others in the series!

Aries Skye did a great job with the writing and it’s easy to connect with. The story of Aquila and Roman, two people trying to rediscover love and healing on a singles cruise, has a heartfelt premise and plenty of relatable emotion. There’s a strong emotional undercurrent — both characters carry baggage (divorce, trust issues, children, a past life) and the cruise setting gives a “getaway” vibe that lets them escape for a bit and connect. Overall, Love on Board is a sweet, grown-folk romance with great writing and likable characters, even if the story didn’t fully hook me the whole way through. Aries Skye still shows real talent, and I’d definitely read more of her work.

I can’t believe we’ve reached the end of this series! I’ve enjoyed getting to know all of the sisters, but this book easily became my favorite. Going into it, Aquila was my least favorite because she always came off so judgmental in the previous books. After finally getting her story, I understand her so much more.
Roman wasn’t out here searching for love, but he sure found it. Once he set his sights on Aquila he did not let up. He stayed consistent, patient, and present until she realized he wasn’t going anywhere. I’m so glad these two finally got it right. A perfect wrap-up to the series!

I loved this book! It started off strong. Mixed in some drama, a lot of romance, family connections and secrets. I started to judge the FMC early on with her reaction to her husband’s secret, but I will say I judged too early.
This story had me clutching my pearls, giving major side eye and kicking my feet like a school girl! Definitely my favorite sister from the series. I see you character growth!

Love on Board by Aries Skye completely swept me away. This is my second journey with Skye's writing, and I'm already eager for the next.
For me, the magic of a great book lies in how it makes you feel, and this one delivered in every way. Roman and Aquilla's romance didn't just entertain, it resonated. Their connection felt authentic, their chemistry undeniable, and watching their relationship unfold was deeply satisfying.
Beyond the central love story, the sisterly bond between Aquilla and her sisters added such warmth and depth to the narrative. These weren't just characters on a page; they felt like people I not only genuinely cared about, but I wanted to be a part of their family and friend group!
Skye crafted a cast that had me experiencing the full spectrum of emotions. There were characters I absolutely adored and others I loved to hate! I laughed out loud, muttered a few choice words at the page, and maybe even shed a tear or two. Aquila gets her happy ending. I was pleasantly surprised at how Skye dealt with the actual reason for Aquila & Joel's divorce--it was handled with nuance; not perfectly BUT with it was handled with care . Roman is a great complement to Qui. Skye did a solid job of balancing heartache, divorce, infidelity, and new beginnings. As a reader, you can't help but root for Aquila. Roman is the goat. And it was fun to see Angela, Kinston, Nissi, and Kannon again.

Love on Board by Aries Skye is the perfect mix of a flirty escape, emotional healing, and grown folk romance. Aquila is a newly divorced mom, sister, and aspiring entrepreneur finally choosing herself, while Roman is a successful mogul who’s convinced love has passed him by.
