This is pretty solid as a shorter, gallery-guide type museum publication goes. It gives a good sense of the highlights of the collection and why they are important from an art historical point of view. It wasn't terrible useful for me personally as I've both been to the museum and read longer books on the collection (including one by Helmut Friedel, the editor of this volume), but I did enjoy seeing photos of how the galleries had been arranged at earlier times. And as is usually the case there were some pieces that were not on display while I was there, so those were also nice to see.

My edition is from 1995 and the colors and sharpness of the reproduction are not as good as they would be in a more recent edition.

Remarkable little guide book to the wonderful Lenbachhaus in Munich, famous for its collection of work from the "Blue Rider" school, including Kandinsky and Klee
